Soulger is an awesome guy, will talk to everybody. Very open and accommodating, and between steel and soft tip I can't think of a person that plays more darts than he does. Well done all of you Bullhitters for being so welcoming of American players (and comms). Got my sub.
Completely agree with you with Leonard, he was a gentleman to us. And we have been loving our darts in America, love to do more with American players, in the states, a lot of great players and great characters. Thanks for subbing, hope you enjoyed what we have to come 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
I bet that was great to witness, he’s a great steel tip player. Can’t wait till we get to see him play soft tip also when we come over. Thanks also, glad you enjoyed the video 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
My name is Paul Pruett. I have played Mr. Gates all over the USA. I have only had great interactions with him. I always treated him and approached him with respect and he treated me the same.
As a soft tip man, I wish you guys dug a touch more on his soft tip side, his experience playing the soft tip elites like Paul Lim, Boris Krcmar, and Muramatsu. But other than that, it’s more than I expected. Great job.
Since this was filmed, we have learned a lot more about soft tip, as you may have seen with our content with USA darts recently. It’s fair to say we love soft tip, and next time we meet him we will do soft tip content with him. And more soft tip content with more players 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
Really enjoyed this video, listening to Gates talk about his career and views on both soft tip and steel tip is great. Also great questions guys!!!! Keep it up. When you lads post vids, it's gonna be a good day. 🎯 PS, DC we all saw you dropped that dart 😂💪
The biggest difference to me between the UK darts and US darts is the starting age of player's. Kids in the UK start at like 5 years old and in US the starting age is closer to 18. We're a generation behind on ability but Americans can hit doubles. The kids of this generation that play in the US is starting to bring that gap closer because adults are letting their kids play with darts now. We used to have Jarts, so parents were hesitant.
Definitely having the youth play darts younger will help bring the standard up in the states. Helps them get to the standard and be conditioned to competitive play by the time they are adults 💪🐂🎯
Love it lads🔥 another great video!!🔥 gates is a top guy to be fair!:) also why havnt you guys got a podcast!? I think you guys would be amazing at it!!🔥🐂🎯
Thanks a lot mate, really appreciate your comment. Leonard gates was very good to us, great guy to be around. Maybe one day we’ll get a Bullhitters podcast up and running 👀🐂🎯
Great video, i have asked Bailey to set me a challenge on tiktok that I'll be attempting, but then I'll be asking all the Bullhitters for challenges. All the best, lads.
tbh honest been playing for 4-5 months i wish i was introduce earlier, the number of tutorials on grip, throw , release and dart reviews i have seen is unhealthy!! 🤣🤣 keeping my fingers crossed whenever it catches up here in India, till then will be supporting the boys🫡
Hello to India 🇮🇳 👋. Glad you’re here in darts now, no better time to be involved. We have a beginner guide coming out soon I think you’ll like. We really appreciate your support mate 💪🐂🎯
Yeah cricket is a really fun game the way it’s played in the states. It is massive over there. I’d be interested to see the pdc implement a one off cricket tournament for the top 16, see how they get on 💪🐂🎯
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it. And cricket still is fairly unknown in the uk. We’d love it to gain popularity, it’s a very fun game with a lot of strategy. We feel it could do well over here 💪🐂🎯
He is a legend. And yes if we’d have had more time with him, we wanted to get him to do the Bullhitters challenge, I have a feeling he would be quite good at it 😅🐂🎯
Been watching a while now and although I love the 3 of you, I hate how much Ollie licks his fingers, i understand the reason why and it’s probably just a habit but please Ollie, you’re nearly down to the finger bones now 😭😂
@leothacker8288 soft tip is a plastic board and plastic tipped darts. The board is a little bit bigger, most 01 games are full bull (inner and outer worth 50) so that’s where your emphasis is rather than t20. Cricket is more popular amongst higher level players. When I say hitting vs not missing, I’m expected to hit a ton or hat trick (3 bulls) and at least a treble in cricket every round and usually at least 1 9 mark round. It’s not a desire it’s an expectation. In steel tip, I expect to get a ton or 2 and hope to get the finish quickly. I’m trying to hit vs trying to not miss. I’m sorry if it doesn’t make a lot of sense, but people who play both understand where I’m getting at lol
We’d love to do a video on soft tip for beginners as that’s the level that we are at 😅. Please check out A-Z darts they have the perfect videos to learn about soft tip. A very fun variation of the game. Tell A-Z we said high 👋 🐂🎯
His opinion on steel vs soft tip is pretty much the same as mine, soft is very relaxed, fun, and very accessible to beginners, while steel is a tougher challenge and has a more competitive spirit behind it. I see a lot of criticism that soft tip is easy because of the huge targets, which is true but it doesn't make it any easier to win. Guys like Gates are consistently around a 100-120 average in soft tip, so there isn't any room for even the tiniest of misses against that average. Imagine a match between two premier league players, every leg would likely be 12 darts or less. Also important to note that a lot of locations in the US don't have any steel tip boards for insurance/liability reasons, so often times soft tip are the only boards where we can play leagues and weekly tournaments without a webcam darts setup at home. Often times if you find a place with steel tip boards, they're either absolutely destroyed, outdated by 20 years, or both.
That’s really interesting point that we never thought of with the insurance/liability is a factor in why soft tip may be more popular. Very fascinating point 💪🐂🎯
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. And no none of us have tried q school, we probably ain’t at the standard yet for it, maybe one day we’ll attempt it, but may take a while yet 💪🐂🎯
Sry but electronic dartboards in europe and usa are different...European segments are just like in steel dartboard...and you have Boris Krcmar from Croatia....He is soft tip player who won 4 world and over 20 european soft tip championships...Best soft tip player in world...Also he is playing steel tip since 2011 and still playing soft tip. Much love for you lads, love to watch youre content. Greetings from Croatia ♥
Sorry mate. This was filmed a while ago during the grand slam. Since then we have worked out the settings, and post grand slam content it will be rectified. Hope it doesn’t effect your viewing too much mate 💪🐂🎯
There isn’t from this content day unfortunately, definitely next time we get a chance to film with him we want to do best the pro with him. Maybe do best the pro soft tip version aswell, although j don’t think we’d get near him in that 😅🐂🎯
I have to reiterate what I replied to a previous comment. We would like to. Unfortunately as of now, we have an extremely busy schedule, but if we were ever filming content his way, we could discuss it for possible collaboration 💪🐂🎯
Since this video was filmed at the grand slam we have sorted the audio issues of the cameras, all content filmed post grand slam will be corrected. Hope it doesn’t effect your enjoyment of the content too much mate 💪🐂🎯
This was filmed a while ago on the grand slam media day, since this video we have corrected the settings on our cameras, everything post grand slam should be corrected audio wise. I know you’ve commented it every single video, but I hope it doesn’t effect your viewing too much 🐂🎯
It's crazy to see that Gates seems like such a nice person, cause here in The Netherlands its always about that he was very rude to Jules van Dongen and he was like the most annoying person that didn't even wanted to shake his fathers hand..
From our experience wi the Leonard from spending time with him, he was a very nice guy, very friendly and only wanted to have a laugh with us, on and off the camera 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
I had to chuckle at Leonard what he said probs u guys were not born lol ..I was playing darts long before i believe Leonard was born from 1974 playing game and also would play v American sailors ( Their quality then wasnt so good id say for sure ) But they have got better since alike guy on video .. id like to give him some games and believe id win Anyhow i played v them Usa Sailors when they were off duty , and were playing darts i recall in a bar in Scotland and i joined along with a friend , and they asked if id play for drink in which i thought aye of course , i thought then that then " They must have money to throw away " and so I said aye ok game on , and i never lost a leg , and by time crossed over road for Kinema Ballroom i was half cut WHAT with so many drinks bought me . Yes was fun days around 1978 this was ..Great times with darts Also i played Jocky Wilson before for some £s and so 1 / played Jocky way back in 1978/9 then in 1979 he came across to me in Londons Wembley conference centre at a Marlborough tournament when i was at with 3 other darting buddies . Myself at bar for rounds, and Jocky heard my voice asking for drinks and he comes across in a bisy long bar to me askingwhere seated ..So we sat had some fun and was just back from Usa playing for Scotland Jocky at time and had decided to take in some games in conference centre to kill time after flying in from Usa and then said he was heading back to Scotland So was fun times had my 3 x meetings with Jocky and 3rd final time was funny in a way i wont go into it all, but door opens and in a lounge bar alone i was at time in Forfar in Angus region in Plough inn and i was in lounge bar not long opened i heard from bar lady , got a beer and i opens up the cabinet and began to throw away this in 1986 this was , and then after 15/20 mins approx the door slight opens all i seen were 👀piercing through and then voice say ..Ok for a throw at board with you mate , i sais aye no probs and in comes from all people in other bar , Jocky Wilson and this my final time with Jocky by accident each time really ..so both us throwing away and much banter was had between us both he asks after a time , you play county for Fife i answered back straight that im too good to play for fife Jocky ..Anyhow was good times and he asked few other things as well , all was fun more so unlike very 1st meeting when he came into a bar in Fife asked whose on board , i then in 1978/9 did not even know who he was 1st time until later when put right . 2nd time in London all good and 3rd final meeting by chance all good . watched his game at county as he won 2/0 easily as some guy ventured in said to Jocky he would win v him ..i had to watch that game in back room which i did and over quickly ..Silly thing saying to a pro player you shall win . I remember every word spoken and yes Jocky said he liked Eric Bristow , also said was just a Scotland v England thing when they played on oche both tried win , after would have drink together and just fun and that he liked Eric . As for American guy he sounds a fun guy , id think id win v guy likes . But again as for Canadian guy Leonard id fancy my chances 100% v the guy , defo . GAME ON LEONARD //Mon noo Bring it on 🎯🎯🎯
This was a great read, and thank you for sharing your stories about your history in darts. There is great value in keeping these stories alive. So thanks again for sharing it. Would love to see you play Leonard, he’s a great player, did well in the last world championships and in the top 100 in the world. But you seem confident so I think it may be a great game 😅. Thanks again for sharing your story 🐂🎯
I have to reiterate what I replied to a previous comment. We would like to. Unfortunately as of now, we have an extremely busy schedule, but if we were ever filming content his way, we could discuss it for possible collaboration 💪🐂🎯

No worries mates I enjoy your videos despite it, it was just something I have noticed watching the videos from the grand slam. Keep doing these type of content.💪🏻💪🏻
Yeah we would love to. If you follow us on TikTok, we often go live on our individual channels where we play people online, that would be the best place mate 💪🐂🎯
It’s just to help with his grip, there are accessories to help with this. But it’s a more old school way of getting some grip, a lot of players do it 🐂🎯
We can only speak for our experience. Even when the camera wasn’t rolling, he was a gentleman to us, very friendly and very accommodating. And was a good laugh to be around on and off the camera 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
We would like to. Unfortunately as of now, we have an extremely busy schedule, but if we were ever filming content his way, we could discuss it for possible collaboration 💪🐂🎯

Me and my dogs went crazy here in AZ too, lol
DC pretending like he didn't drop that dart is the best part of the video 😂 no offense towards Gates!
He thought he could get away with that 😂🇺🇸🐂🎯
Shouldn’t have been rolling my darts around 😂
Wow Lenny talking about me made my day😂
So you are the one Lenny was talking about. Zachary Meeks, remember the name 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯

We’ll try not to use cricket terms next time 😭🐂🎯

Leonard is the man
He really is 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
I saw in the US they play a lot of Cricket instead of 501 that's pretty big.
Yeah cricket is a really fun game the way it’s played in the states. It is massive over there. I’d be interested to see the pdc implement a one off cricket tournament for the top 16, see how they get on 💪🐂🎯

Such a great guy 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
Great video, enjoyed the convo about plastic vs. steel. In the states we play a lot of Cricket, has that game become more popular over there?
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it. And cricket still is fairly unknown in the uk. We’d love it to gain popularity, it’s a very fun game with a lot of strategy. We feel it could do well over here 💪🐂🎯
@BullhittersOfficial lol, and not as much math, both games have there perks!
Seems like a top fella.. Mad at that 🐂... Possibly a future bull challenge against you lot??
He is a legend. And yes if we’d have had more time with him, we wanted to get him to do the Bullhitters challenge, I have a feeling he would be quite good at it 😅🐂🎯

Difference between soft and steel is steel is about hitting and soft is about not missing.
That’s an interesting way of looking at it. We are still learning. There’s a lot to learn 😅🇺🇸🐂🎯
@BullhittersOfficial please can you explain what steel and soft tip actually are

Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. And no none of us have tried q school, we probably ain’t at the standard yet for it, maybe one day we’ll attempt it, but may take a while yet 💪🐂🎯
Great vid again
Thanks mate 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
This fellas voice is class
Yeah he has, he should narrate our videos for us 😅🐂🎯
@ that would be so funny hahaha he has a voice like Morgan freeman
Are you doing a play the pro with him?
We would love to one day. Maybe play soft too vs him. Can’t imagine we’d get anywhere near him in soft tip 😅🐂🎯

@BullhittersOfficial not at all lads, no problem, good vid 👍
Is there a Beat the Pro vs Gates?
There isn’t from this content day unfortunately, definitely next time we get a chance to film with him we want to do best the pro with him. Maybe do best the pro soft tip version aswell, although j don’t think we’d get near him in that 😅🐂🎯
Should see him play soft tip, it's insane

No mate, may just have had the mic a bit further away, not sure 🐂🎯
Banger boys
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed. Lenny gates was a legend 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
Soft tip = Pool
Steel tip = Snooker
Good way of looking at it 🇺🇸🐂🎯
Love the videos but I hope you guys fix the audio soon. It sounds clear but It's kind of annoying have it bounce back from left ear, to right, to both
Since this video was filmed at the grand slam we have sorted the audio issues of the cameras, all content filmed post grand slam will be corrected. Hope it doesn’t effect your enjoyment of the content too much mate 💪🐂🎯
@ love the videos and it definitely won't stop me from watching. Glad you guys got it sorted though, the content just keeps getting better
Thanks mate. Do appreciate the support 💪🐂🎯
What a guy
Seriously such a great guy 💪🐂🎯
Good video but again.. Please fix your microphones to use the stereo setting. Every guy in the video is either in my right of left ear only.
This was filmed a while ago on the grand slam media day, since this video we have corrected the settings on our cameras, everything post grand slam should be corrected audio wise. I know you’ve commented it every single video, but I hope it doesn’t effect your viewing too much 🐂🎯

Myself at bar for rounds, and Jocky heard my voice asking for drinks and he comes across in a bisy long bar to me askingwhere seated ..So we sat had some fun and was just back from Usa playing for Scotland Jocky at time and had decided
to take in some games in conference centre to kill time after flying in from Usa and then said he was heading back to Scotland So was fun times had my 3 x meetings with Jocky and 3rd final time was funny in a way
i wont go into it all, but door opens and in a lounge bar alone i was at time in Forfar in Angus region in Plough inn
and i was in lounge bar not long opened i heard from bar lady , got a beer and i opens up the cabinet and began to throw away this in 1986 this was , and then after 15/20 mins approx the door slight opens
all i seen were 👀piercing through and then voice say ..Ok for a throw at board with you mate , i sais aye no probs and in comes from all people in other bar , Jocky Wilson and this my final time with Jocky by accident each time really ..so both us throwing away and much banter was had between us both he asks after a time , you play county for Fife i answered back
straight that im too good to play for fife Jocky ..Anyhow was good times and he asked few other things as well , all was fun
more so unlike very 1st meeting when he came into a bar in Fife asked whose on board , i then in 1978/9 did not even know who he was 1st time until later when put right .
I asked darting postie if he would play you and he told me to ask you so would you?
I have to reiterate what I replied to a previous comment. We would like to. Unfortunately as of now, we have an extremely busy schedule, but if we were ever filming content his way, we could discuss it for possible collaboration 💪🐂🎯
The sound of the video is so annoying mates but despite it cool video
Since this video was filmed at the grand slam we have sorted the audio issues of the cameras, all content filmed post grand slam will be corrected. Hope it doesn’t effect your enjoyment of the content too much mate 💪🐂🎯
No worries mates I enjoy your videos despite it, it was just something I have noticed watching the videos from the grand slam. Keep doing these type of content.💪🏻💪🏻
Hi bullhitters I wanted to know if you wanted to play me in a game of darts best of 5
Yeah we would love to. If you follow us on TikTok, we often go live on our individual channels where we play people online, that would be the best place mate 💪🐂🎯
Just don't ask him for a picture
We saw him having pictures with people 🐂🎯
why is that guy licking his hand all the time?
It’s just to help with his grip, there are accessories to help with this. But it’s a more old school way of getting some grip, a lot of players do it 🐂🎯
I dont watch channels that bypass ad block so Im off
Shot against this guy in myrtle beach and he is a total jagoff. Shocked that he actually talked and played darts with you guys
i heard something similar, maybe he likes having this nice guy character on camera for good public image
We can only speak for our experience. Even when the camera wasn’t rolling, he was a gentleman to us, very friendly and very accommodating. And was a good laugh to be around on and off the camera 💪🇺🇸🐂🎯
@BullhittersOfficial nice to hear, he seems a great guy
I'm gonna guess you aren't as nice as you think you are.
YOU NEED TO PLAY @dartingpostie
