I am quite surprised this video hasn't gotten more hits. Its brilliant. I keep coming back to it. Its played with so much emotion, you can FEEL this song when its being played.
I was raised up on the original. I still remember that day when I saw the clip for the first time. It was magic. This is one of the most impotant songs of my life. And I'm saying this is as amazing as Massive Attack. But dear Lord, how is that even possible??
if people would open their minds a little more they'd realize how great this cover is! i bet it's even better when you get to hear (and feel) this live, and when i say live i mean in front of the stage and not youtube-live!
I loved the original MA version. It's hard to do a great cover - you've got to keep what made the song great and still manage to add something of your own to the mix in a way that the song feels fresh. These guys managed to do a great job. Terrific cover. Been playing the studio version of this for a while now. If you haven't already picked it up, do yourself a favor.
this is good! its so hard to listen to a cover of a song thats by your favorite band, because everything pales in comparision. but if you look at this objectively, its a really good cover. his voice adds an interesting twist to the song, and the change in rhythim gives it a bit of a funky flavor
Why cant the Massive Attack fans get over it and just accept this new cover? I think this is great, and a very fun emotional cover. I actually prefer it to the original.
@J4YTR he uses a new technology that allows him to record a loop of instrumental so that while the loop is playing, he can add another base line to the rhythm.
I love Civil Twilight but Jose Gonzalez does far more justice to this particular song. Check out his version on UA-cam. It was in an episode of "House".
It's true this isn't an amazing cover, but Civil Twilight did do quite a few great things during this song. Steven's little bass improv in the middle is actually quite tasteful, but more importantly, they really captured a feeling with this song. It's something that they do especially well. They can really make people feel with their (and other people's music). However, this is a surprisingly difficult song to sing and it just wasn't there. but, lay off, they tried pretty hard
I love Civil Twilight but Jose Gonzalez does far more justice to this song, just my opinion. It was used in an episode of "House". Check it out here on UA-cam
the poignant melody written by massive attack, leveled by lyrix of such heart can not fail any who dare to cover it, elizabeth's original phrasing outdoes most while his falsetto soars
In the middle of the song when you hear the bass playing the same notes over and over how come the guy on the bass isn't plucking the strings along with the music?
@cloudcollector83 It is better. I saw them last Thursday and was literally right against the stage when they played this. It was the most intense experience ever.
i hate covers of everything, it just pisses me off when shity bands cover good bands music and try and copy it and ruin it.....so i came into this video thinking it was gona be terrible, but i was really impressed, the whole soft loud thing is amazing, i have never even heard of this band before..... outstanding, completely new twist on it
Massive Attack is just one of those bands that you don't mess with by making covers. That guy really shouldn't have tried to go up an octave, it sounded terrible
I don't like it. They get the lyrics wrong in the first place, even if it is intentional, and then they never finish the song. Instead they opted to go with repeating "Teardrop on your fire, I can feel it dripping" for five overly long minutes.
This was a weak cover. I'm a fan of MA, CT, JB, MD, AS, BB, CC, and all the other artists. Still doesn't change the fact that this was a lazy sloppy cover that sounds like a middle school garage band.

Massive attack is enourmous, but we must all give credit to civil twilight!!!! This version is MENTAL!!!!!
AMAZING COVER OF A CLASSIC MASSIVE ATTACK SONG !!!!!!
Really awesome rendition, I love what they did at the end. I'm a big MA fan, never heard of these guys till tonight.
I'm a Massive Attack fan and I have to this outstanding!

Today, I got to know Chester Bennington admired Steven. I can feel that through this masterpiece.
love this band, hope to see u in the uk soon guys your amazing!
Fucking Brilliant Cover. Well done Civil Twilight this is a hard song to cover.
So expressive, artistic design apt!
@turbojason Actually, the original lyrics are "fearless on my breath"...
if people would open their minds a little more they'd realize how great this cover is!

Outstanding.
I loved the original MA version.

whoa now. whoa. I would die if they played that on their stop here in Kansas City July 19th.
@cloudcollector83 These guys blew me away live - opening. Anberlin was playing for the main show and didnt' come close.
This is so beautiful.
This is bloody brilliant!
@schmelison I actually was on the fence about Civil Twilight but this cover made me fall in love them. To each their own! :-)

Love this so much. I'm a huge fan of CT!

We're over it, just like tears for fears fans are over it and Kate Bush fans are.
This deserves more views, epic.
I love love love that!)))) I love the Civil Twilight!!!)))
I liked the band and now suddenly I like them more. Good taste!
they are great live!
seeing this cover live was crazy
@yellow2nd
At least you got to see them live. I don't think they'll be coming to Australia anytime in the near future :|
they're so great.
civil twilight>>>
I feel like his voice just hugs me! :)) ♥ Civil Twilight!
@J4YTR he uses a new technology that allows him to record a loop of instrumental so that while the loop is playing, he can add another base line to the rhythm.
Ian Curtis is back! :)
i never heard these guys til I am Number Four & thought he sounded like Bono, love his voice, very beautiful expressive & powerful.
amazing, just amazing. thx!

Newton Faulkner is a close second to MA, but I'm not sure where to place this one. Changing the lyrics was a bit too much for me. :P
One word... WOW!
@thinkfire1 I see that iTunes has release a copy.
Absolutely Brill....
Just saw this cover tonight when they opened for Anberlin, fucking epic.
best cover ever
l love this band I heard Steve sing at tribute to Chester B I looked them up fell in luv I like there music it's different and so soulfull

Is there an official CD out with this remix/cover?
@cloudcollector83 You have no idea...it's an experience for sure.
where can i download this?

Empathised, felt right?
In the middle of the song when you hear the bass playing the same notes over and over how come the guy on the bass isn't plucking the strings along with the music?
why are your live performances so different??
It was invented in the early 1990s. Another good artist that uses it is Ed Sheeran. KT Tunstall is also awesome at it too.
i prefer this to the original. just beautiful.
unique... more perfection than the perfect concept of the original
We do a cover of this song as well, Its defintely better in a rock version. Well done guys!
Best song EVER!!!! :-)
Lovelovelovelove.
What a cover. Ghostly. Kinda got a "little death" - neighborhood feel to it.
Yah I think these guys are the real deal hope all goes well for them.
I wonder why they changed the lyrics
@cloudcollector83 It is better. I saw them last Thursday and was literally right against the stage when they played this. It was the most intense experience ever.
looks im one of the few MA attacks that likes this cover, alot of originality on one of the classics.
I love this cover but the MP3 sounds much better than the live.
feel like the sun might give way. the lyrics are, "feather's on my brain".

It's all wonderful but i'd like to hear guitar a bit louder.
i hate covers of everything, it just pisses me off when shity bands cover good bands music and try and copy it and ruin it.....so i came into this video thinking it was gona be terrible, but i was really impressed, the whole soft loud thing is amazing, i have never even heard of this band before..... outstanding, completely new twist on it
@heyooofil tYpInG LiKe DiS MaKeZ Me SO VeRy CoOoL
love the song. but i he's totally chanelling sting's bass playing.
Очень круто👍надеюсь канал ещё жив)
Look, we all know I got a godly voice... but if I was given the opportunity, I'd switch voices with this guy in a heartbeat.
Who the fuck ARE you?
@rodrigorenzo ahahah! :-D
Somehow I wandered from the awesome cover of "Acoustic Labs - TearDrop"
to this shit. I´m taking the steps back to real talent...
richard is such a good drummer...great cover, i guess
Damn this version is good.

So good! Listen ours song , it would be nice to be able to catch up your sound
jeff buckley reborn
6 people were humiliated by Dr. House.
House M.D intro!!!
WTF THIS BAND IS THE SHIT
No thanks. I'll keep listening to MA.
All right, good cover so far, but why not singing the right words properly ? Doesn't make any sense, he seems not understanding the song.
a great song... a good band ... but to be honest, I was disappointed when I saw them live... :(
ahah
I don't like it. They get the lyrics wrong in the first place, even if it is intentional, and then they never finish the song. Instead they opted to go with repeating "Teardrop on your fire, I can feel it dripping" for five overly long minutes.
I agree, this sounds weird and has nothing to do with the original... THough the band has some talent, not for me though....
It would be a cover if they sang the correct lyrics... This is just a bad parody...
This song should never be covered. If you simply must cover it, this is an example of how not to do it. Just aweful.
shit WTF ths HIgh tonality
This was a weak cover. I'm a fan of MA, CT, JB, MD, AS, BB, CC, and all the other artists. Still doesn't change the fact that this was a lazy sloppy cover that sounds like a middle school garage band.
This is horrible!!!!!
