Every now and again, a broadcaster or pundit can illustrate a true love of a sport. Its not dependent on the individual game in front of them or the topic under discussion. The answers show that he has done the trudge of boring games, inconsequential innings, where nothing seems to be happening This Kimber fella has got it. He loves it. Top of the tree. Cricket are lucky to have him.
Kimber absolutely nailed it, talking about the fact he’s got more than 4 lengths. Anderson is almost like a spinner, the subtle variations of line and length and the working over of a batter, bringing them across over the course of an over. Good bowlers get batters out with one ball, great bowlers get batters out over the course of an over
Young Jimmy Anderson: a bit of a whirlwind who would bowl magic balls in between some rubbish. Old Jimmy Anderson: a surgeon with unreal precision, dissecting the smallest flaw in the techniques.
Sachin doesn't have the best strike rate or average but he's the greatest because of his consistency, longevity and single handed match winning ability. Lara had more flair, Ricky was the best technician but overall Sachin takes it. This is exactly why Jimmy Anderson is definitely the greatest fast bowler of all time.
Nope Anderson nowhere but Sachin had not focused on single format to prolong his career in that also can't have the best stats there is argument to be made ..then ..styn played all formats but short career but was on top with stats & performance
Anyone would pick anderson in career wise but i think at the very peak steyn is the best Steyn is all around bowler while anderson sometime struggle due to his lack of pace
Love Harmy, utter legend but next to Kimber the quality of analysis is agonising. Kimber delivers concise data backed insight and aspects of the game you haven't yet considered. Harmy then makes a vague point based on his (excellent) experience and repeats it 5 times. Took about 3 mins just to say Jimmy can dismantle batsmen with a bad technique because of his control and ability to move it both ways. Still a god of English cricket though, so he'll always have my respect.
Would be interesting to compare Jimmy to Botham Willis and also Marshall Ambrose Walsh Patterson Bishop Donald and the Aussies etc of a different era if possible????
My will to watch these videos is a toss up between watching Harmison say the same lay person thing 5 times and feeling like I'd rather do the laundry or a legitimate knowledgeable analysis from Kimber. You know, like an expert saying things.
I sincerely wished he never retired but i believe the greatest bowler of all time should be judged on making the ball talk and in general range of skill, Guys like Akram and Steyn trump Anderson in that regard.
He may have longevity but he isn't better than McGrath, Steyn, Marshall, Garner and a few others. Just a reminder, Anderson averages 26.5. It's nowhere near some of the great bowlers mentioned.
Sure if we pretend McGrath, Steyn, Holding, Marshall, Garner, Waqar and Wasim don't exist. He's not even better than Fred Trueman. Fantastic swing bowler though.
@@rahulsrinivas3224I do agree with you, however, over the last ten years which is another bowlers career timeline Anderson averages around 22. That is pretty amazing. That said you’re right there have been better fast bowlers. Malcolm Marshall and Dennis Lillee to name just two.
He is like the ishant sharma of England. Played a lot of tests although being ordinary at best.Dont think players lost sleep over Anderson. Wasim ,Waqar, Glen McGrath, dale Steyn, Shoaib Akhtar, Shane bond,Alan Donald are few greats whom i look at them with awe. Its just English players play more tests than any nation and you hold on to your average players longer praying they get better. For me he is a slightly better version of Mathew hoggard at best
Absolute waffle from start to finish but please do explain who this Jarrod bloke is as he talks utter 💩💩💩💩, biased opinions and please do educate me of his background as a professional sportsman and what he did at all levels of the game. How many first class matches and how many international matches during his career and also the number of major trophies.
I dont think Kimber was any kind of cricketer but that doesnt disqualify him. When you hear most ex-cricketers they're not very analytical, KImber has studied cricket . I recommend his "Test Cricket: an unauthorised biography".
Is Jimmy Anderson the greatest fast bowler of all time?
No
Yes.
this shouldn't be a question
@@nikhilagarwal5295so what’s your answer? 😂
Not only no but hell no! 😂
I could listen to Jarrod Kimber all day. Phenomenal cricket knowlege.
Absolutely. Unbelievable that his channel is not the no 1 cricket thing. In terms of quality other experts don’t even come close.
Same. He's pretty much a cricket genius. I'd love to see him break down this Windies test team

Kimber's depth of knowledge is astonishing
Jarrod's knowledge of cricket is unmatched
Jimmy Anderson has been bowling so long that he made his debut before t20 did 😊
Young Jimmy Anderson: a bit of a whirlwind who would bowl magic balls in between some rubbish.
Old Jimmy Anderson: a surgeon with unreal precision, dissecting the smallest flaw in the techniques.
Could listen to Kimber's analysis all day long. Guy is a cricket nerd. Love it
I forget he was out of the side for so long. Really amazing that he managed come back and become the England goat.
One of the greats
He is a great English bowler. But he is similar to Kumble, country level great, but a good international player
Kimber is good to listen to always. Interesting analysis. Love from Allahabad and Canada.

Sachin did have one of the best averages in test. 53 is great

best cricket podcast for me! Love the insight and analysis. Top draw stuff

Harmison is an average commentator but doesn’t help dressing like he is heading to Spoons.
Harmison is right about angles: a neglected aspect of bowling.
I think bhumra is comparable in ability to adapt to.any pitch and adjusting length quickly
If he's still performing in 15 years time like this then maybe

Greatest English bowler yes! But not the greatest ever. I don't even think he makes the greatest 11 of all time internationally!
Not even England's best bowler. That's Fred Trueman.
Fire Fred is top five ever, but Anderson is probably top twenty.
He is not English greatest bowler. He is probably in the top 5 though
C'mon Harmy, lose a stone or two!
Anderson bowls extremely well in England.
Anderson will probably the last great bowler. I can see a 2020 player, playing 20 years with T20s etc
Bumrah?
