I like how confident he is when talking a bunch of sht
Jewelers like selling 10k gold because they’re selling a chain that’s less than 50% actual gold at a greater mark up. It’s like watering down liquor.
Doesn't make sense to pay more per volume on something that's not pure 10 k. Gold 50 per gram while 22k is 35 per gram doesn't make sense
@@armobyzantine5881 please dont trust or listen to this jeweler
if you buy a 10k gold you get 205 grams of pure gold that your invesment compare the prices and get the chain that gives you more gold for the price it could be 1k gold if the gold gram its cheaper its a good deal
10kt is rediclous pricing everybody else in Miami doesn't talk about 10kt like Alex. Will visit all the jewelers to see who's best for us that will spend thousands
It's not at a greater markup lmao. We adjust our prices based on the weight of the actual gold my friend. There's a reason a 5g 10k gold ring only cost $200, while a 14k one cost $300. Simply adjusting the price to the amount of gold in the product. You aren't losing money or gaining money, you are getting what you pay for. The numbers speak for itself

The only place you’d find a Cuban at a price as cheap as he’s talking about is at a pawn shop. Stores like him have too much overhead costs to sell at only 10% markup he’d be losing money between insurance and rent and any employees he pays.
To test his theory call his shop and ask to place an order at the price he mentions in the video.
I agree
Yup! Test his ass
100% agree. go to diamond district in manhattan no one will sell you a 14K cuban for 28/gram (1400/500). let alone buy it back for 24.5/gram. if you find someone selling it for that price let me know and ill buy from them for my supply.
Unless you have a reliable outsource from out of the country
10k yellow gold jewelry is more susceptible to tarnishing compared to higher karat grades. This is one of the reasons why jewelers with stricter quality standards won’t use 10 karat gold or lower grades.
10k pieces look a tad paler compared to 14k. This is due to the lesser gold content used in 10k.It's also likely to cause skin irritation to people with a nickel allergy.

No disrespect but can you tell me what the track is? I don't know what the name is & first time hearing it. Greeting from the Netherlands.
For everyone who wants to buy gold jewellery: go for 14k or 18k - I would prefer 14k because its better for daily using (harder) and there is nearly no colordifference to 18k + you pay less. In Europe for example, 10k is not even considered as gold.
22k looks the best
There is literally a difference between 14 and 18k gold. Lol. About a 17% gold difference.
I love how they're using nipseys "double up" beat. 👑👑👑
Brotha a good investment is gaining money not losing money
You don't buy jewelry as an investment unless it is an antique, but it is worth considering the resale value in case things go south and you need to sell it quickly.
If you bought a chain back then when gold was 700 an Oz you made money because gold is worth 1500 an Oz now. If you hold it long enough and the price goes up, you’re making money. You can absolutely make money wearing a chain.
Badass Skeptic You definitely made money off of it. I got a figaro around the same time in 2005. I sold right after the peak when it was the highest it’s ever been in 2012 when my daughter was born. I definitely made out wearing a chain every day for years. I just got a new chain yesterday. At 1500 an Oz it was a lot. It’s probably not the best time to but but I really wanted a chain again.

This is assuming that the seller will sell to you at the market price of gold, which they never will.
Well obviously there are craftmanship fee for links , necklaces , etc. Depending on shops, sometimes they will give you a discount if you sell it back to them, but 10% is kinda hard, doable if you sell to the same shop and you are a regular customer - but really2 hard.
Really Thailand has good labor prices? @@BillWalters-kx8sw
Hong Kong will sell you the gold at market prices.
Yeah he's quoting $11k for a 500gram 10k chain. Spot price for 10k gold is $25 and if you multiply that by 500 that's $12,500 on the dot. A chain like that will sell for over $20k, I doubt he gives you spot price on jewelry pieces like that one. You would also be an idiot if you sell a chain way below spot price...lol
r Negoro the amount that gold fluctuates will never cover the cost is craftsmanship, jewelry as an investment in the usa is not an investment
When buying gold. You’re paying for the gram weight and the purity. 14kt does stand out more than 10kt it’s not the same make sure your 14kt is clean and polished and you will see the difference between both
For me 18k gold is best its mild hardness which is good for daily use and color look like gold, where 10k gold look white silver alloy mix...where 18k looks perfect in Colors where u chose yellow or rose colors look better than other carats of gold and its good for daily use has 75 percent of gold so good resell value too... Else for investment buy 24k pure gold bars or pendants..
bingo. 18k Bismark is what I wear.
According to his chart, he is selling 14 kt gold for $28.00 a gram. That is very good deal, considering most online shops sell their gold for $40-50 dollars a gram, and people are paying it, which is crazy.
True but I would be questioning whether it really is 10,14,and 18. Normally they do have a bit of a color difference and he’s saying all look the same. Bit of a red flag imho. But I haven’t been to his store or purchased anything from him so idk for sure just the way he talks he sounds desperate for People to buy Cuban Link because more gold means he makes more money. But as I said it’s all speculation at this point
skirm123 around my area there’s a shop selling for 29.5 and online 42 don’t know why is the difference maybe secure shipping
But the grams you get for $50 are .999 24k only.
@@aanvaardig5770 its probably not 14k gold. Gold wholesales for $29 and change from the very cheapest source that isnt from the factory. You gotta ask yourself if you were a business owner and had expenses like rent and payroll does it make sense to sell gold at cost or ever a super competitive $2-$3/g markup? Could that keep you in business? Most people buy chains that weigh less than 15 grams. Imagine paying $300-$400 to make $30-$50 doesnt make sense
Luis Portillo 24kt it’s $41 a gram and 14kt it’s $24 a gram right now , remember 14kt it’s only 58 % pure. Buying wholesale 24 kt and melting it they make money, but the more money comes when they buy scrap gold and melted to do new jewelry. When people need cash and go sell their stuff they ripped them off 😂. They definitely need to make money as you are saying they are charging for their work but some go way over due and then they want to make people believe they are doing a investment by buying 14kt. Which will loose it value as soon it goes out their shop
I would give this man my entire jewelry store if he sized a wedding ring in front of me.
The best thing about this video is Nipsey Hussle...Real Nipsey fans know what am talking about.

Cuban links have lower craftsmanship cost per oz/gram, overall, for investment purposes , no one ever buys necklaces, most buy bars.
r Negoro "They" are buying by how much it weighs by weight. They don't care if the gold is in teeth, ring, earring, or necklace. When the economy sucks gold goes way up. Its Always good to invest in precious metals. I worked in this business in the mortgage meltdown. You always want to compare who us willing to pay more for your stuff.
When exactly does he describe how you’ll get 90% back?
I like 10k because it’s stronger. I guess if I was buying kilos I might go higher.
He’s speaking on today gold market prices. Gold usually go up in value or at least hold steady
10k 14k 18k are all the same well I'm learning something new today 😂😂😂😂 i guess my jeweler must not be qualified cause he been telling me there's a big difference
SCOOPY BENZ he’s talking shit they are not the same I work with one of the biggest diamond store in the Caribbean and travel for my company and selling jewelry and that’s not true 🤣
He's speaking in terms of resale returns they are the same lmao. This comment section amazes me
Call me broke but i like plain jane cuban link chains, iced out is too rapper for me
Actually I'm an Emo Mumble rapper and I prefer just plain gold or plain diamond silver when I mean Diamond plain silver meaning probably a diamond cross but a silver chain me for instance I don't like wearing fake jewelry if it's piercings that is straight out of the piercing shop I wouldn't mind wearing them cuz you really have no choice but when it comes down to buying stuff out the jewelry store I like to pay a couple of hundreds because at least I know I don't have to keep coming back and buying more jewelry cuz I'm buying realshit did I can get my money back if I want to sell it. Or probably get more if you can find someone that can give you a good deal. But I normally buy 10 karat gold because that's the cheapest and it's real anything lower than 10 karat is considered fake.

Well that's very interesting about the resale I actually wear a gold necklace and a gold bracelet just for their value if I ever get an emergency situation lost my wallet out of town I have gold on me gold is money all around the world really good video thank you
This guy is outta his mind!!! I've been buying jewelry for the last 20 yrs and im here to tell u that you'll never see 90% back unless something crazy happens on the market. Whoever bought gold in the late 90's or early 00's are the only ones seeing good resale value because back then gold was about $12 a gram. Those prices are long gone in todays market!!!!!
Maybe not 90% but somewhere close or you can sell it yourself and get 100% back. Every pawn shop will give u at least 24 a gram back or better. Is best to sell it yourself and not loose a dollar. The key here is not to over paid or you'll be in the red even more. 30 a gram is a fair price for a cuban right now
You will only get that much back on a plain Jane rolex
He must have meant 90% of scrap, since no jeweler is paying 90% of what they sell them for.
How is it a good investment if you're losing money? Haha
Right
Well the gold goes up and down.
@@browardmpr8317 Jewellery from dealers like this is never a good investment. If you are truly INVESTING in gold you buy bullion coins or bars.
According to the jeweler your only paying 10% of the jewelry's retail price to wear it until you decide to sell it
That make sense🤔
10k, 14k, and 18k can definitely vary in color and darkness. not every jeweler uses the exact same ratio of the alloys they mix. that is literally how you get white gold and rose gold. rose gold has a higher percentage of copper. you can try to match the colors the best you can but 14k will more often than not have a darker color yellow than 10k and 18k darker than 14k.
Gold has three prices. You have the price for the raw material. You will always be able to sell the raw material for whatever spot price gold is bought/sold for at any given moment. The second price is the price a goldsmith takes in addition to the price of the raw material to make you a nice piece of jewelry. It could be a neckless, it could be a ring, it could be a friggin gold chair ... whatever you want him to make. He will not do this for free, so this will cost you. Then you have the jeweler like this Alex guy, who buy jewelry from goldsmiths and sell it to you. He shall also cover his costs and earn a decent sum of money of the transaction himself. A used jewelry will probably never go for the price you once bought it for. It will almost always go for less, unless you have a very special piece of jewelry that someone just MUST have. As an investment you are always guaranteed at least the price of the raw material (spot price). Everything at top of that is uncertain and depends of many other factors.
"Spot Price" where do you find this? I'm sure it varies and all, but is there like some website that you visit?
How much capital you need to start a jewelry in usa?
Charlie boy put the got damn camera on the chains when he talking about the chains 😂
Man that song in the beginning… RIP to NIP, The Money Making Crip 🙏🏻
it depends, if the price of gold goes up after you buy it, you could get back all your money or more, but if it goes down, you could lose money
And always remember when you buy this from me, (You will 100%) get jacked up 💯, so please come and piss ya money away

I got an 18k gold plated stainless steel Cuban link. Is 18k better then 10k/14k?
Garret Rumbo nope. A solid 10k piece would be worth more
There is a huge mark up for jewelry. Around 500 percent. So you'll get 90 percent of the melt value. Buy gold that has less of a premium, like bullion.
Only places with markups like that is like kay jewelers, zales, greenbergs etc and their chains aren’t even anything I’d buy. ESPECIALLY not a cuban
10k turns black way to fast and on a big Cuban Chain it will show with a quickness . A 14 k will darken too but over a greater amount of time the best is always 18k or better.
ringhunter 100 10k NEVER goes black I have so many 10kt pieces thats I have had for years and they all still look brand new

Pieces he showed at the beginning he just threw around slamming them on the table and at the end he brings out holders for the "better ones." I thought he brought a holder at the end because he realized about the scratches, but he brought the first piece again to compare and just threw it around.. @6:30

I just bought a 62.2 gram 23k gold or 95.5 % , I would not buy 10 k gold its a lot of copper ,mixed in with gold 23k is the most beautiful color of gold . The chain I bought was in chinatown in Oakland Calif , I traded two 1ozt amp suisse bars and paid 150.00 for labor . I don't know why anybody would buy a 10 k chain , and lose money on it ...

You will lose more money on it than a 10k. You bought it from Chinatown in Oakland, so it’s probably fake.
@@TheCOWBOYRANCHER I buy gold all the time ,what makes you think I don't know how to identify gold ,I traded two 9999 bars ,they were melted in front of me for purity . I tested the chain myself , Its real 96.5 23k ,but nice try LOL
You actually will "lose" more on a 22k or 18k chain then you would a 10k chain. Of course you will get more money back off the sale, but you would actually loose more profit. Thats like buying a Rolls Royce vs a Cadillac, If you trade them both in after a year your gonna loose way more on the Rolls Royce, because it cost so much more. But yet you will still get more for the Rolls Royce, because you paid way more.
@@Boudell That assumes I will sell the chain at some point ,Im giving the chains to my grand children and their parents . Buying gold by weight , is not a gamble . The best gold to purchase and wear everyday is 10k and 14k. The higher karats are weaker to wear as an everyday accessory.
Only wear 22k gold every day, including my wedding band, with no issues. Folks from Thailand wear 23k gold. I just feel if I am going to claim something like gold, I want it to be close to pure as possible.

That is a real jeweler!
How much do you sell 14k gold Jewelry per gram @ your store
10k ,14k,18k, all aren’t made out of pure gold so when you go and sell your jewelry you will never get back how much you originally paid for it because people buy based off GOLD weight not the whole thing so in reality you’re getting like 60-70% back but it also depends on the price of gold in the market rn and also when you bought it and how much it cost
You pay more for the craftsmanship, if they sold you jewelry at base gold value they would be out of business. Unless you can get jewelry as near base value you won’t make much money if any. The point of buying most jewelry isn’t to resell to make money, it’s not an investment, it’s a luxury good to enjoy with resale value.
I could tell right away if its 10k or 14k 10k is alot more yellow cheesy 🧀 look....
Yeaaaaaa, hes full of shit.
No you can't. It's close to impossible to tell because the color the gold gives off is purely based off how it's polished and the quality of the other metals put into the jewelry.
lol the only lesson here is to be the person that buys it for 90% of its original value..

This guy is spreading so much misinformation. 10kt, 14kt, 18kt gold all have different shades of gold becuase they have different percentages of gold and alloys mixed in. And usually, rose, yellow and white gold cost the same, except for Rolex, their Rose is called Everose and they actually mix their rose gold with platinum, making stronger, more durable, and, more expensive.

@@GBullockNC Not $10.000. He meant 10 karat gold. The chain is 5 kilos that's WAY more then $10.000. A 5 kilo pure gold chain is impossible to make, gold is too soft. He said the giant chain Jay has is 10k. Makes sense because it would support the weight of the chain better being 10k. Also less scratches because 10k is harder and more durable.

You will never make a good investment when buying jewelry because the amount extra it costs in workmanship is more then gold prices will fluctuate, gold only makes sense as an investment in raw gold because the likelihood of gold going up a couple thousand is so low that the amount you paid in workmanship will never cut even!
Gold jewelry requiring experienced craftsmanship is not a traditional investment, it’s an enjoyable luxury that has resale value, and gold has out-performed the S&P 500 in the last 20 years. It’s a good way to enjoy your money if that is what you’re into. Most hobbies and luxuries have very little resale value. Used products don’t sell for much compared to new, but gold is gold, it’s billions of years old formed in the core of a collapsing star. It’s not an atv or a boat.
asian 24karat gold. Asian gold dealers are best prices.

This is all considering gold prices stay at the same levels. If we get another economic crisis like in 2008 , gold prices can sky rocket since people will diversify into gold and vice Versa. If gold prices drop, then your gold investment will take a hit to the downside ; far more than 10%.
