With the extra spice that the engine has and the way it was turned up when you bought it getting a higher torque rated transmission is important. If you don’t know the rating system for fuller transmissions the first numbers are the torque rating. Gonna want to find a 1850 or 2050 rated transmission
Can't tell what was happening when grinding started 15 is in my opinion one of most durable transmission in that torque range seemed like was part of seasons we be rebuilding rearends from spining in winter to transmission rebuilds usually 13 back halves or synchronizers I'm guessing if it's 15 you've broke a pin on synchro sounded like she's still trying to be half in high side way she was trying to start and grind hope it's not ripped up in there they aren't bad to repair if you've done few pretty simple don't cut corners if you have it apart and see little things it will only come back to haunt you later chips and wear bushings and bearings from wear and tear a bad shift or two might as well do it now but that 15 will go long time my 93 has close to 2 million in it heavy hauling with one high to low synchro they are reliable chin up

I'm curious about the hay bales you used as a barrier around the pigs. With the pigs now sent to the butcher, I assume the hay will be repurposed, perhaps as bedding for the cows, as they likely wouldn’t eat it. It might also be a good idea to build a block wall in one corner of the barn, especially since you plan to have pigs again next year.
If it was me, I would raise the pigs in the pen he currently feeds the cattle in and feed the cattle in the bunk over by the silo. Wouldn't need a temporary pen in the middle of the barn and wouldn't have to carry silage across the barn. Then could use the center of the barn for more storage.
