I may only be 1/16th Lakota. But I grew up only 30 minutes from Pine Ridge. My father helped build the hospital up there. SuAnne Big Crow center. And was an electrician at the high school. We were always welcomed into the culture up there. Welcomed in as family. I was never a religious person. But the Lakota philosophy and spirituality always made sense. Their connection to their ancestors and to the earth stuck with me. I spent alot of time fishing and hunting on the reservation. It felt different than anywhere else. I was always more aware and mindful of the moment. And the connection. I hope to one day do a photography project on the lakota people. Ive attended powwows when I was younger so I never got to fully experience the entirety of the event. I hope to be invited one day. To experience. Im trying to incorporate the lakota ways into my life as it has connected now more than ever. The culture is so beautiful. I wish words could explain the impact ive felt. Thank you earth for providing. I hope to give back in any way I can.
Aho! Thank you for this beautiful and sacred prayer...specially in this sacred time that we are living now of transition to new Earth! Great Spirit bless you! 🙏🙏😇😇🌏💖💖💖🪶🪶🪶

But where I lived where the bear is, was a domain where Deer, where trodding, but I have more stuff for Elk and Moose, bcause of language and just, pure logicistic thinking.
some times we need words for help our own soul and here I got all I was looking for :-) Lovely, beutiful, wonderful. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this beautiful video!
Really beautiful, I am a British Hindu who loves to hear about the First Nations and the Native Americans. Hindus worship the celestial Swastika. The power and prayer is exact and similar.
i started to listen to it at the last two mornings and it really aligns me with the valuesi want to remember every day. i didnt understand the part " As each day passes, help me to surrender, with grace, the things of my youth. Help me to listen to the quiet, and find serenity and comfort in the silences as they become longer." i would love to understand what the meaning of surendering the things of youth and quitnes that becomes longer means so i can put the right intention. Thank you!
I feel compelled to respond to your questions. As we grow older, it necessary for us to let go of anything that no longer serves us on our journey through life. That can be many things. Maybe an old friend from your youth that you are no longer in alignment with spiritually and so you must let them go so that they do not hold you back. That is just an example. It could also be a behavior, environment, personal beliefs, etc. As for the quietness that gets longer, as we age we begin to prefer the quiet instead of all the noise and chaos we liked in our younger days. This becomes significantly more pronounced with age. It is necessary to have the silence because that is how you can hear God. You have to be silent and in quiet in order to hear the Spirit speak. This is also the basis for meditation and is included in many different religions, cultures and customs around the world. I hope that helps you. Be blessed always.
Yes as Jennifer Rice explained so eloquently, as we grow older we have different values and have to let go of some things we thought were important to us so that we can spend our last years in quiet. I am honoured that you appreciate my written prayer. Vera
In New Mexico the Native four directions is shown on the state flag. But is the circle yellow gold like the background as the sun, or is it solid red like the sunset? Now it is yellow gold like the sun. Has it changed for NM as one not the other? Please listen to the Roman Catholic Canonized by the Vatican St Francis of Assisi, the author of this Prayer: (and as I truly believe ecclesiastically approved by the Vatican and Catholic Bishops, this prayer), Prayer of "The Canticle of Creatures". Do you, as I, believe it is a beautiful prayer about the brothers and sisters of, and, Sir Brother Sun and Mother Earth. Beautiful prayer. Questions I may find on a documented documentary, maybe on FNX the First Nation Xperience, the Native American Network, television, internet. (And a yes to animated FNX TV Wapos Bay series!): I have not been in the East, are there Eagles abundantly there? Are they mostly in Alaska? With a great large one or many in Southern America? (Documented Documentary reference). I have been only once to the South, not knowing, are there many wolves there? The brown bear, I have lived in the West, are there brown bears, they are not only grizzly bear now? White buffalo in the North, are they there or are there more than one in the MidWest? White deer have been reported in the West, North, and East, if I remember, recently, are these white deer herds in the South too? Four Directions Prayer, beautiful prayer of truth. (News and Documented Documentaries as references).
