Wow. Can't imagine what you went through. All I did was put mine under hot water running through the faucet for a minute. Took it out twist and open. But don't forget to cut the tape seal holding the cover to the glass.
I got my Mercedes today. You can simply twist the black cover left and it gives you full access (big hole) to the tank glass part. So no need to inject the liquid, you can simply pour the perfume in
I can confirm. I just took out the #63 named unit from my E53 and you CAN INDEED UNSCREW IT! But its quite tight because its probably sticky a bit inside.
For those of you who have had difficulty rotating the cap (myself included- I have a 2018 S560) fast forward to 3:08 and watch him lift the cap off… I’m still figuring out how to get the black top off of that sits UNDER the outer cap, but hopefully this will help!

You could just twist the bottom half and drop it all in the bottle at once instead of fooling with all of that. Or maybe you're doing this for ASMR reasons? lol

there are 2 versions. In the old OEM bottle you can't twist the black cover
@@toth-robert yes you can, but you have to cut the transparent stickers attached on each side of the bottle to be able to twist the black cover.

Can any fragrance work or will certain chemicals damage anything? I was going to use diffuser reed oil.

Why do you need those Crystall Bolls? The liquid perfume alone will not work?
You can put only perfume but I use crystal ball for keep perfume and smell for long time than pure perfume.
