      *FOV-much better with spacer removed
      *Tracking-much better (did a beat saber sess and it didn't annoy me once)
      *New Cable/usb hub-no longer screws around with my iCUE
      Two other notes
      *sweet spot is sooooo good (everywhere is clear even if it's off-skew in Ur head)
      *also, may be cause new but the ear phones feel nice, tighter, no movement

      Wait, this does foviated rendering and the regular G2 V2 doesn't? It also says the headset is 4120x2160. Is this right?

    The problem with foveated rendering right now is that most engines still don't really support it natively, so if people add it at all, they usually add Nvidia VRSS since it's pretty much the only one that works and is decently easy to implement right now.
    It would be cool if for example steamVR added foveated rendering to their SDK.

    I´m actually having a very frustrating time right now trying to bind the controls in different games via Steam VR. In Rift S everything worked like a charm, Reverb controller bindings are a nightmare.

    • @CedarTree45
      @CedarTree45 2 роки тому +2

      Same here. But the games I’m having trouble with (ARK Park and Narcosis) have janky controls in general, not just G2. Hopefully Valve update their VR bindings software to be more like SteamInput for controllers (which is way more intuitive to use). I’ve tried OpenVR2Keys, which just binds buttons to keyboard keys, but it doesn’t disable game input, so it’s not great :/

      That's why i bought the Quest 2 and the G2, sticking to a Quest 2 without using FB accounts is great and to be honest ... better FOV and sweetspot for me + better tracking + better controllers that are not eating batteries like the best candy out there are the things that killed the G2 for me. Still got it for comparison but i can't use it anymore.

    Not worth it in my opinion. The "mouth tracker" is just a camera with no proper software written for it. The eye tracking works, but blinking is either open or closed no in between so, it looks awkward. The controllers are terrible you're better off using the older wmr controllers or syncing your play space with index controllers. The displays are not that great on top of that. The lenes fog up super easily. The link box needs extra power for the headset to even function. Hardly works with most laptops too. The face cushion pops off too easily if you remove the spacer. I used this headset about four play sessions before switching back to my Vive pro eye. What a disappointment.

    Face tracking? There's no face tracking for this headset as far as I can see. There's eye tracking and a face camera, but the face camera just outputs a video feed. The fake leather padding also causes the headset to fog up extremely easily. If it didn't have crashing issues, if it was more comfortable, if there was any software support, it could be a decent headset, but it doesn't look like HP cares enough to support this in any consumer sense. I traded mine for a vive pro eye and haven't ran into any issues.

  • @Krzeszny95
    @Krzeszny95 5 місяців тому

    10:54 Oh no, there's a V1 and V2 Omnicept? I bet they look identical externally :/
    Also, it's May 2024 and face tracking isn't supported in any game, even through VRCFT. Only eye tracking is supported.
    If you're considering Omnicept, just get the G2 V2 and use fixed foveated rendering.

    Sounds silly but I love the mechanisms they use for both the heartbeat tracker and mouth tracking sensors.
    Especially the later one as it is magnetic and could easily be used for other accessories as well.
    Too bad in the current state of VR, other than simulators VRChat would be the most famous game to make use of these sensors.
    Well and Half-Life Alyx if Valve decides to push things to the limit.

    And did they solve the tiny sweet spot of the G2 Reverb or is still the same?

  • @notlikethis9932
    @notlikethis9932 2 роки тому

    Exact same lenses - big nope. Sweetspot is tiny and unstable. FOV is mediocre.
    Exact the same panels - another big nope as they smear when turning your head in FS2020 or SimRacing same way as they do in any app/game.
    The game gets slightly blurred when you turn and is gets clear again, when you stop moving - even after 1 hour of warm-up time.
    We better not talk about WMR and the mediocre overall tracking.
