Regarding the Gorda Springs event, I think even if a third party had been involved that this was probably still a suicide pact. The lack of evidence of a third party suggests that there was no struggle or resistance, that both women submitted to the fate, and the lack of evidence of a third person is not proof they were not there, just proof that someone has not found anything definitively showing they were there. That the women were very actively trying to avoid people is common in known suicide pacts, because they fear someone will interfere, intentionally or otherwise. That they had mild-altering drugs of any kind, however modest the dose, shows they wanted to dull their wits, again to stop themselves from giving up too soon. Binding certainly is the logical thing to do if you want to suffocate yourself by a bag over your head because it will preclude you instinctively ripping it off, which further suggests planning and intent. @GPX: Why the masks, why try to die in such a deliberately mysterious way if suicide? There's no way around the masks. Why did they seek notoriety in death? Why commit suicide in this way? What was the deal with the "pounding" noise in their room the guard spoke of?
@@rafopderand8524 I would have to turn those questions back at you. Why not wear the masks? Why assume they sought notoriety by the manner of their death? Why assume it was deliberately mysterious on their part? And can you tell me what is relevant about the pounding noise yourself? People do act for themselves, and their motivations need only make sense to them. Try as we might in society to create uniformity, to have common standards and traditions, individuals will continue to have their own ideas and do things that will not be comprehensible to others.
@GGX: I don't think you can simply return those questions, you didn't explain the weirder aspects of this supposed suicide. That's not good enough. You're removing the facts that sit uncomfortably with your theory from the equation. You can explain any suspicious death one way or the other that way. "Why not wear the masks?" Well, because there's zero need to wear them, for instance. If you want to be found dead this way while committing suicide you're likely seeking notoriety. I can think of one or two other explanations, yes, but I'm asking you, who seem to be convinced this is a suicide. You explain the masks as a personal quirk now, okay, fine - but there's no evidence for that - and it's obviously not the most likely explanation. This being a sex game gone wrong, amongst other things, is still likelier. There's also the problem of either tying yourself up first and putting the bag/mask on later on or doing it the other way around - doing either of these actions by yourself doesn't seem plausible. You can't tie yourself up when you're suffocating and I don't see how you can put on a mask/bag when your hands are tied on your back, never mind make it shut tight around your neck. The relevance of the guard's encounter with one of the women after the noise they made, and whom merely closed the door as soon as she saw the guard, is that they were obviously up to something in that room. Perhaps it isn't relevant and they were just having sex one last time, perhaps it explains everything. But if you come up with a theory, you gotta consider every possibility, not just go with a pet theory and pick and choose the facts that suit the theory - because then there's no reason contemplating what happened.
@@rafopderand8524 Fair enough. You have your ideas of what people can do and I have my ideas of what people can do, and your ideas place less potential agency on the part of the women themselves than mine does. Simple as that. Whatever happened, I do hope they found peace from whatever tormented them, be it their own psyches or a malicious entity.
Creepy. Kinda reminds me of the “suicide” of the guy that somehow stuffed himself into a duffel bag, then locked it. EDIT: didn’t realize they would also make that connection, and mention it.
I thought exactly the same thing! I just don't understand how she taped the bag to her head and then tied her hands behind her back. Surely she would have been suffocating???
In the 1991 book “Final Exit”, one the author’s suggested methods of suicide is the ingestion of barbiturates washed down with the hard alcohol of your choice followed by the placing of a plastic bag over your head secured at the neck. Purpose of the bag is in case the drug overdose fails to outright kill you, the bag will eventually cause you to suffocate and expire due to lack of oxygen. Aside from the ligatures, sounds quite similar to the first case.

Strange, extremely strange, but I wonder if any of the hotel staff were looked at - evidence of foul play could have been removed prior to the arrival of the police. It's odd how the hotel staff, including the manager, evidently had a bad feeling about the women, while no-one else in their lives, including their landlord, had anything negative to say about them. There are also apparently a number of substances that could have been administered to the women which are either difficult to detect or not even checked for during the course of autopsy. However they died it would appear, (from the lack of external wounds) that the died relatively peacefully.
If I owned a motel and 2 people came in asking for no one to have a room next to theirs and throwing a fit when I decline, i'd say that would make me get a feeling about them. If they had came in and acted normal, got their keys and left that wouldnt be odd. Getting upset someone might hear your bussiness in some way is odd. You could argue some wouldnt wanna anyone to hear them doing sex stuff but most people dont care if they are renting a room to do so. They were there for a reason and I'm sure hotel staff realized that after they threw a fit over privacy. If 9 out of 10 people come in, pay, get their key and leave and the 1 occasion you get someone making odd request and getting riled up with me than yes that to hotel staff would be odd behavior. Doesnt mean hotel staff were messing with evidence or are to blame. you'd be a terrible detective bro, people like you become cops and send innocent people to prison for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. In this case hotel staff.
@@aa.mirezZ The masks may have belonged to the victims in the first place. They may have put a Kabuki mask on their own front door prior to departure, bringing the other two with them.
@@OneTyler2Many We've only got the word of the staff that they were making odd requests in the first place. If I ran a motel/hotel and I murdered two guests I'd possibly make up stories about them too - anything to deflect attention away from me. I'm not saying that it was the staff/management, just that nothing should be discounted.
So it's believed that someone tied themselves up and managed to asphyxiate themselves after murdering their partner/room-mate? That's like trying to suggest Leslie Tiller tripped and fell on her own shears.
Most of these videos I watch for entertainment, but this one is racking my brain with questions. No struggle, no apparent third party but the supposed perpetrator spent the time to put a hannya mask on while suffocating themselves. Like that mask is just bugging me, hannya masks symbolize women turned into oni by jealousy, and it seems too deliberate to be nothing.
Not to mention the mask hanging on the couple's apartment door. Did they put it up before they left? Or did it appear after they died? That would rule out suicide instantly.
I was wondering why they didnt look into the meaning or even the physical origin of the masks. That explains alot. What about the third mask on the table? That's gotta be the third person leaving a clue. It does sound like suicide at first, but then the manner of death and the items used are indicative of another party.
Occam's razor In the case of a death scene in pzrticular, investigator will first search if it's a natural death. If there are signs of an unnatural death then they will search for signs of if an accident occured. If the injuries committed seem intentional then they will go with a suicide unless there is proof that either a third party was present or the wounds sustained could not have been inflicted by the victim themselves, only then will foul play be put into the table. This process here is to avoid jumping into conclusion and assuming foul play for a domestic incident. And in this case, as there is no sign of a third party and the fact that both women could have made the bounds to the other and the fact it shares many similarities with other cases of suicide pacts, then they didn't need to go to the step of assuming foul play as suicide explained the situation very well
So we’re to believe that one woman killed the other then tied her own hands and legs together and put a mask over her face and suffocated ?!!! Really ?!! 🤨🤨🤨
They tied each other, mainly the hands behind their back, just before this they put the bags over their heads. You can tie your own legs, then both laid down on the, waiting for the eneditable to take its course. There was no evidence of foul play, no burglary. The only people involved, were the women, that died.

Last time I went camping in Big Sur we were near Jade Cove. It was a full moon that night and was utterly amazing watching it rise over the mountains behind. I had a bag of plumbs in my backpack and when I awoke in the morning my bag had been opened and the pits were lying next to my pack. Which was right next to my sleeping bag.
Nice story! It reminded me a very unusual case in New York maybe around two years ago, I believe. My memory is not very clear. There were two sister around their 20's. They were found in Riverside Park, someone called the police because he/she saw something floating. As soon the police came, they found the girls were dronwed, tied by the mouth, hands and ankles. They believed it was a pact suicide. It was weird.

Given the fact they wanted to be left alone and ensured they would be left alone, the drugs/alcohol in their systems, how they were laid out and presented, I'm thinking this was an assisted suicide, meaning they hired someone to help them kill themselves in a manner of their choosing.
I always find it weird what police will rule as a suicide. As someone with suicidal ideation myself, usually people who do it aren't trying to be dramatic or complicated - they pick something simple and quick or painless. The whole "I'm going to tie you up, then tie myself up while wearing a mask" seem really dramatic. Maybe if two people commit suicdie together it's going to lend itself to more complicated stuff, but the dude deciding to kill himslef by locking himself in a bag? That seems unecessarily complex and uneeded.

a comment on the Kabuki and Noh masks the white horned mask is in Kabuki a symbol of sorrow and regret... the striped red one, by its descriptions, seems like a mask used in Kabuki to show a character put into a rage, but in Noh is used to denote a character who is possessed or haunted by the dead.
Neither the women nor the man in the bag did this to themselves!!!! It’s absurd to even suggest such thing!!! In the case of the man in the bag, several investigators have purchased the exact same bag and pad lock video taping themselves trying to accomplish the same miraculous feat and have proven it to be impossible!!! I’d wager if you were to examine how the women’s hands were tied behind their backs you would find it too was impossible to do to ones self! These cases remind me of the many cases around the country where individuals are claimed to have shot themselves in the chest & head 2 or even 3 times!!!! Ridiculous!!! These people were killed by someone!!! Cheers
The GCHQ story is...yeah, suspicious af. What these women did? Super easy. Look up in the comments for someone detailing exactly how it can be done. It's pretty easy to move your hands from infront of you to behind you when they are bound if you are limber at all. This is just a sad story of suicide.
The Gorda Springs mystery is weird, but as a Californian who lives in the general vicinity I'm gonna be a bit of a wet blanket here. Every town has its lore, but there's really not any particular legend about Big Sur that has an unbroken thread from the past to the present day. People moving out West to California's central coast in the early 20th century were artists, writers, and poets who were looking to make the area into their image of a mystical, untamed land worthy of their Romantic aspirations. So, take that fairies and dread stuff with a grain of salt. The rural parts of the central coast are harsh terrain. Parts of Highway 1 fall off the cliff into the sea every winter to early spring when the rains come in. There's large swaths of impenetrable brush lining steep gorges. If you go off-trail in the wilderness it's very possible if something happens to you no one's going to find you. The land there is dangerous and beautiful because it's wild land.

Bedtime stories is my second favorite channel !!! Only second to Wartime stories!! Yall absolutely rock 💪🪨!
Or that kid that "fell" into the center of rolled up mats and asphyxiated.
Well, we all know the "investigators" are full of $h!t anyway, so...
I remember when that case hit the headlines. It was very very odd

I was thinking hotel staff too. I also don't think the drug deal stuff is that unlikely, especially if a cartel had a link to the hotel staff.
Also, it couldn’t be the hotel staff; in the video it mentioned a mask found back at their apartment door.

I'm reminded of that one Family Guy episode with new Brian: "And that is why I killed myself, chopped myself up and threw myself in the garbage..."
Or like how Jeffery managed to totally kill himself
"Their not Judge Judy and executioner"
Or they simply liked the style if the mask.
@@ThePresidentofMars nope
it was freaky sex stuff. I'm calling it now
Not only another great story, but I’m really excited for a second volume of these collected stories! Can’t wait to read them all again!
Actually that's oni mask, not a kabuki mask because it looks more demonic.
YES! Kabuki actors wear makeup not masks. To be specific it’s a Hannya mask used in Noh drama that’s supposed to represent a demoness
The one shown is referred to as Hannya style and is often associated with shinobi - perhaps a clue to the real killer.
Still, why the masks? What's their purpose?
@@michaelandreipalon359 Do you mean on stage? Or in this particular mystery?
@@mrmadness2699 The latter.
Would an Open Verdict not be more appropriate rather than assuming suicide with no evidence?
Occam's razor
In the case of a death scene in pzrticular, investigator will first search if it's a natural death.
Whoa, hang on--theres a world famous tourist destination whose people experience shadow people and inexplicable, overwhelming sensations of dread with such frequency that said locals have dubbed the phenomena "The Watchers" and "The Terror"‐, respectively? Why have I omly just now heard about this?

It reminded me a very unusual case in New York maybe around two years ago, I believe. My memory is not very clear. There were two sister around their 20's. They were found in Riverside Park, someone called the police because he/she saw something floating. As soon the police came, they found the girls were dronwed, tied by the mouth, hands and ankles. Given the fact they wanted to be left alone and ensured they would be left alone, the drugs/alcohol in their systems, how they were laid out and presented, I'm thinking this was an assisted suicide, meaning they hired someone to help them kill themselves in a manner of their choosing.

You should do another video on the supernatural aspects of Big Sur, and those mysterious deaths you mentioned. Maybe a part 2?
I always find it weird what police will rule as a suicide. As someone with suicidal ideation myself, usually people who do it aren't trying to be dramatic or complicated - they pick something simple and quick or painless. The whole "I'm going to tie you up, then tie myself up while wearing a mask" seem really dramatic. Maybe if two people commit suicdie together it's going to lend itself to more complicated stuff, but the dude deciding to kill himslef by locking himself in a bag? That seems unecessarily complex and uneeded.
Still amazes and delights me that you have found crimes that I have never heard of

a comment on the Kabuki and Noh masks
the white horned mask is in Kabuki a symbol of sorrow and regret... the striped red one, by its descriptions, seems like a mask used in Kabuki to show a character put into a rage, but in Noh is used to denote a character who is possessed or haunted by the dead.
Always good content. 😁👍
I've really been enjoying the extra vids love all the hard work u guys put in2 the vids
Always excited to watch your videos, sending lots of love from South-Africa ✨
Interesting, my bet on Jason Voorhees, excellent work guys, love artwork and storyline.
