That badass ZJ 5.2 Turbo is a fuckin BEAST!!! it rocketed to 0-80 lightning fast with that stock full time 4 wheel drive. I had a 1993 ZJ forst year of production 5.2 V8 and the last year of production a 1998 ZJ 5.9 limited ive had for 12 years now.
@@LygerTheCLaw 46RH. I put a transgo hd2 kit in it. Check my other vids for where I put the turbo, it's a dumb setup in a dumb location but it worked awesome
This is on a microsquirt yea? What size turbo did you need for the 5.2? I have been wanting to build a dakota 5.2 and have it on speeduino using tuner studio as well
@@SentryIIIwhat did you do for the passenger side manifold? I have a ram manifold but it pretty much dumps straight into the frame/lower rad hose/engine mount. I was thinking that you probably used ZJ manifolds.
Is there anything else done to the engine? Or is this just a mild boost stock 318? I ask because I've got a 96 zj 318 on 10psi and im wondering if it will make the same or close to the same power.
@@SentryIII mine just has roller rockers and thats it. I think its got some minor head work done too but I only paid 1000 for it so its a bit of a project. Planning upgraded head gaskets and studs to turn it up on 16psi
Playing with wastegate springs and boost control I had a couple 16psi "whoopsies" and it hauled ass, I dont run it that high normally though. Usually 9-10 daily and had it at 12 at the track
@@SentryIII what were you getting for your 1/4 and 1/8 ET? Trap speeds? I only have access to an 1/8 locally but I'd like to see what I might expect. Mine is low mile and gutted and rwd.

that poor 42RE is gonna have a short life. real question is where did you fit the turbo? i can't fit my hand sideways in my 5.2L ZJ engine bay.

turbos aren't specific to the vehicle, you can use any turbo... theoretically.
Could you please answer me, is the Jeep Cherokee 5.2 engine supposed to be forged or something so I can put the turbo in it?
What modifications did you have to do to be able to install the turbo and make it safe for the engine? @Sentrylll

Yup microsquirt. I went with a very small turbo on purpose because I wanted fast spool, so just a GT3582

Nope bone stock 200k mile 318 and 10 pounds of boost. Yours should be very similar, or even more power if you have a cam in it

13.9@100mph 4x4 with 31's. 2wd with smaller tires would be a lot faster
