You can lay a large piece of aluminum foil on your counter tops and when the cat jumps up on them the foil scares the cat. It won't continue to jump up on the counter tops.

I'm *so* glad you're back and you're all doing well. As a parent, it's hard not to be affected by the things going on in the world. Mine are in their early 20's and it still worries me. I'm praying with you that things will change.💜
First of all, your channel is about cleaning motivation. You don't need to feel bad or pressured into talking about current events. Secondly, it is completely okay to feel the way you are, whether you were directly affected or not. It's sad and sickening that this is the country that we have to raise our children in.
Lastly, watching you pick up your daughters room pulls at my heart. My daughter's room was my favorite to keep clean with everything in its place. All the stages of growing up she went through. It was sad when the baby toys were replaced with toddler toys, then bigger kid toys, then preteen things. Now there's not a toy left in my daughter's room and she gets irritated when I go in to straighten up and some things get moved around. Kids grow up fast and I miss my little bug😢

Thanks for the cleaning motivation. We sprayed our cat with a water bottle to teach her not to get on counter or scratch on couch & it worked after being consistent, give that a try.

A little unsolicited advice. I put aluminum foil on my counters to keep my 1-year-old kittens off, and they started eating the foil. 🤦🏻♀️ Please make sure anything you’re using for cleaning is pet-safe. I saw you have roses, but please don’t get any lilies as they are highly toxic to cats. (I work at a vet, and I have seen the consequences!)
Glad you're back! Cats hate the smell of anything citrus. I mix water, a couple drops of dish soap, and lemon essential oil and spray my plants and furniture. I spray the cats with regular water if they get on the counters.
Glad to have you back with another video! Please please don’t spray the cat with water! Google it. There are many other ways to keep your cat off the counter. Your cat looks just like mine.
try putting foil on the countertops, one or two times and he'll learn that countertops mean noisy shiny stuff if he jumps up there. It worked really well for my kitties.

Omg, I have the same probs with my cat 😂 it means I have to clean the counter twice as much because of hair. I can’t stand it but I love my boy. Someone actually shot him and broke his leg so he’s kind of a rescue since we had to pay for his surgery and luckily he got to keep his leg. 🙏
I have 5 cats and after a few times they learned not to jump on the counter tops just by a loud 'no!' and the name calling. But didn't you have 2 dogs?

Hi Emily about the cat I don't have one but my sister does and he does not go on top of anything she trained him with a spray bottle of water and he's so good! As well he would scratch on the sofa and he no longer does he's really good so I'm sure your will be great it's just a matter of patience and training! Love your home so beautiful and you are so organized ❤
Emily, I have a cat too. They love the counter. I asked my Vet onceand she says that they think the counters are mountains. LOL. Anyways, we love our cat so she gets the run of the house.

my cat loves when I get out the ocedar mop. he likes to watch it spin and watch me mop. He also likes when I sweep. But I have to watch him, he will sit on my dirt piles while I go to get the dustpan

Cats like to be up high, but also be around you! I personally let my cats be on the counter. I don’t care about it like some people do.
I would also recommend to not always be filling the bowl unless you know the cat won’t overeat, because that is how a lot of cats get way overweight and it’s hard to help them lose it

Get your cat some catnip toys it keeps them occupied, they also don’t like the scent peppermint, you can spray it around the bottom of your island or anywhere you don’t want them to jump or bother things. I love restocking videos especially when you're pouring things into containers on a bench.
A firm "get down" then a mist of water from a spray bottle will break your cat from getting on counters. It don't hurt them but they don't like it.
Roll tin foil on the counter they don't like it, and it brakes the habit. A spray bottle of water also works. 👍👍
