I just recently got my Tamiya Subaru Brat running again after being parked for over 25 years. I bought it and built it in 1984. I am having just as much fun with it now as I did then when I was 14 years old. I plan on posting a video soon.
I'm glad to learn that Tamiya brought my original Brat back to the present. The most challenging part was modifying a modern NiMH battery to fit and function. The old NiCD hump batteries are no longer made.
After i saw your GH2 in that Candy lime green, i also made mine like yours with the GH1 2005 decals. Thank you for inspiring me! GH2 & Hornet have always been my favorites.!
So happy to know I inspired you, Ce Al! Yeah, looks awesome with the GH1 decals, I think. All Hoppers/Hornets are my favorites. Such iconic designs and beautiful buggies. Thanks a lot for watching, and thanks for the feedback, bro!
Fantastic collection! I love them all too - and glad to see there are a few very interesting projects to look forward to... You have done extremely well with your channel, I think mainly because your dedication and passion for RC shines through - along with taking the time and effort to engage in real and personal comments and discussions with your subscribers and commenters. I would like to thank you sincerely for supporting my tiny channel from the start, I don't have that many followers yet, but you were one of the first, showing a true interest in others that share your passion. Well done my friend, it has been a pleasure so far, and I for one will continue to follow you on this journey - keep 'em running!
Thanks, Mark! And thanks for all the continious support! Well, compared to the big channels we are all in the same boat: Tiny channels that have a good time among friends :-) Your passion shines through too and I love your vids. I will follow your journey too. Learned a lot from you already. Most important thing is the community here. The friends who comment and one get's to know. But yeah, increasing view count, subscriber count etc. is a fun way to feel that one is moving forwards and not backwards.
Nice Trevor! Yeah getting into the Tamiya kits can become a little addictive - we always end up with more than we need - but also great great fun building these kits :-)
Awesome video Mikael!! Your collection is amazing bud,Looking forward to see more runs and rebuilds!! especially the DF03MS, Leonid, and the Desert Gator,Racing Fighter and the Leviant 😊
Thanks Chris! Looking forward running these new trucks. Will probably take some time before I have them all ready. Too many projects and too little time :-)
Oh yes, a Leonis. That's a bit special Mikael. Looking forward to that one. Big congrats once again. Love the video and collection. But also extremely impressed with the way you placed the Buggies in the same position to transform from one to another. A master class in editing. Big Double Thumbs my friend : ))
Thanks, Derek! If I am a master in editing so are you :-) I love your videos. I remember one of your recent videos with update pictures that just had an excellent flow and timing. I think this video, my collection, is a bit too long and tedious. Next year I will try to cut it a little shorter. Ahh yes. The Leonis. A good friend of mine had both the DF-03MS and Leonis, and needed some space for some new Kyoshos. He’s even more fanatic about the Kyosho Optima Mid series than Tamiyas. So when I asked him about a deal on both buggies and some parts, he offered me a friendly deal I couldn’t refuse. Just love the looks of those two. And gonna be fun and a new thing to me trying out some of these semi-race buggies.
Your video isn't too long and definitely not tedious. To show a collection you have to include all the RC's, which, depending on how many, may produce a longer video than you would usually make. Putting them into sub-sections was a good idea. You didn't stay too long on each car and it didn't seem like 15 minutes had passed when it ended. I will be emulating this video when I do my own collection video. Thank you very much for your kind words about my videos. I have developed my channel over the past 17 months by watching and learning techniques from other channels. Yours has been a very big influence on me. Especially when editing the video you mentioned. I really like your style Mikael, and I try and use elements of it in my creations when I can. There's a reason you have 2000+ subscribers. It's because you are extremely good at what you do my friend. Good news about the DB-02 & DF-03. It's great when you can reach an agreement that is beneficial to both people. It will be good to see how they compare to each other. I was tinkering with my DT-03 Chassis yesterday, trying out wheels and body shells. s20.postimg.cc/w1kl7caql/20180421_191215.jpg s20.postimg.cc/rpxerhuzh/20180423_193809.jpg Hope you are having a good week. Talk soon : ))
The grasshopper was my dream rc car as a kid, I use to always circle it in the magazines cus I thought I’d get one for Xmas or bday but nope never did,got a radio shack special instead lol! Congrats on the 2k subs that’s awesome I hope I hit that mark someday👍👍👊👊📹📹
Thanks Steve! I think a lot of kids wanted a Tamiya back then but was left without one :-) Those things where expensive back then, even without radio, battery etc.. I didn't even know Tamiya existed in the 1980s, but was thrilled for bdays and christmasses when I got the Taiyo or Nikko I had hoped for :-)
The Grasshopper is the classic choice. The Grasshopper II is the unorthodox choice. The GH is perfect for what it is, in my opinion. The GH2 needs some mods before it is running good (myself, I am not too fond of the rigid rolling rear axle of the Hornets and GH2 - without a trans brace - and on top of that my GH2 rear shocks bind a little).
Nordic RC Visions I was born in 81 so Tamils was the hot rc’s to get. Then when the clodbuster came out,it was like omg! I think the clodbuster was like today’s xmaxx
That's a nice collection. I like these kind of videos when people show their collection. Some interesting projects you have there. Will be fun to see the DB02
Thanks! I love when people share their collections too. Would like to get them all in one out in the sun lined up together but it’s too much hazzle for me. And yeah, looking very much forward trying out the DB-02. Got some cool new electronics for it, but it will probably take a while before it arrives and I have them installed.
Yeah, a DB-02 and a DF-02MS entered my life a few days ago. Not planned. A good friend needed some space for his growing Kyosho buggy collection, and he made me a deal .-)
Thanks, my friend! Maybe it's time for a new 2018 AMpro tamiya collection video. I would enjoy watching it. Filling up our homes with these Tamiyas :-)
Great video of a lot of very nice cars. Guess many of ud have the space issue, but most of us probably also love the waiting for new cars on their way. Hope for a Wild Dagger in my collection one day, it is a great looking truck.
Thanks, Jesper! Your two beautiful semi-racers just made it in time for a short appearance :-) Hope it gave you some space for the Kyoshos. Yeah, space is the real issue for me too. Ohh, I remember some stories about you and the Wild Dagger. You never got one but a Blitzer Beetle instead? Well, my plan is to build a 4WD WR-01 some time. Got all the parts for it. If I don’t use up parts from my Wild Dagger for it, you can have mine cheap. It’s 100% original. It probably needs a new body and decals though, to look good and properly Wild Daggerish. Don’t think they will start re-releasing the WR-01s and WT-01 in a decade or two sadly.
Congrats on the 2k subs. You have great vehicles. But could I suggest something? From the grasshopper and the hornet I think your collection needs a tamiya madbull. Lol I'm just finishing the last touches on the paint on my madbull and I will say it looks amazing in my opinion. I will be showcasing it soon.✌
Thanks, bro! Yeah, there is a real historical and chronological gap there, between the hoppers and the DT-02. Gonna have to get myself a Mad Bull or some other DT-01 to fill it :-) Looking forward for your Mad Bull!
Funny you say that I was thinking over the last few months to do a video showing all my land rc's... but it's such a pain to bring them all outside... today is a pretty nice day out I may do it!
Your collection is incredible, some of the ones you have are to die for. I think you should buy a lunchbox and turn it brushless because I don't that to mine and it's one of the fastest RC cars I have ever bought in fact it's now faster than my mates traxxas rustler, also how long have you been collecting because although I'm still a teen I have been racing and collecting tamiya's for 2 years but I have been racing and collecting RC cars for about 10 years now and my whole RC collection isn't as big as your RC car collection. Look forward to next video👍
Thanks, Jay! Yeah a Lunch Box will definitly be added to my collection some day in the future. And a brushless version sounds like a lot of fun :-) I think I got my first hobby-grade model in 2013. Just after finding my old ones from the 1980s in my parents basement. That got me hooked again :-) I focus a lot on affordable kits as well as good second hand deals. And I switch out models, financing new models with the sale of old ones. So that’s why I can keep a collection like this. But it’s nothing compared to some of the other Tamiya fanatics. My collection is small and cheap compared to these. But it’s not about how many cars one has. It’s about having as much fun as possible with the ones you got :-)
Thinking of buying the Green Edition Grasshopper as it is virtually the same colour as my KAWASAKI ZZR1400. Would you but it to use or as a shelf queen. I have heard that the Grasshopper and Hornet cars break easily.
Nice. Could be a cool pair 🙂 In my humble opinion they are both very durable. Never heard that they where not. The weakest part is the chassis around the shock towers and the Hornet’s wing.

Sounds awesome! The Brat is such a beautiful and iconic release! Thanks for watching, bro!
I'm glad to learn that Tamiya brought my original Brat back to the present. The most challenging part was modifying a modern NiMH battery to fit and function. The old NiCD hump batteries are no longer made.
Yeah, that will prove a problem. But the LiPo batteries come in many shapes and sizes.
Super cool collection! Always a joy to watch your clips. tnx
Thank you very much, Lesley! It’s a joy sharing :-)
Very nice collection of Tamiya’s Buddy! 👍 I like! Yes! Vintage All the way! :)
Thanks, Harkeness! You got a lot of the same buggies. We like! :-)
After i saw your GH2 in that Candy lime green, i also made mine like yours with the GH1 2005 decals. Thank you for inspiring me! GH2 & Hornet have always been my favorites.!

Fantastic collection! I have picked up and built 4 tamiya kits since watching your clips. Keep them coming!! 👌👍
Nice Trevor! Yeah getting into the Tamiya kits can become a little addictive - we always end up with more than we need - but also great great fun building these kits :-)

If I bought a kit for a grasshopper build which would u recommend the grasshopper 1 or grasshopper 2?

Nordic RC Visions Oh ok thanks brotha! I think it would be cool to have a race at my local track with only grasshoppers n hornets
Nordic RC Visions I was born in 81 so Tamils was the hot rc’s to get. Then when the clodbuster came out,it was like omg! I think the clodbuster was like today’s xmaxx
great collection love tamiya
Me too, Mark 🙂 Thanks a lot.
Excellent video. I love the green grasshopper, but it's an excellent choice of vehicles.
Thanks, bro. Yeah, love the Green Grasshopper. So much I painted my Grasshopper II the same colour :-)
Amazing, Just Amazing ! Congratulations for your 2k subscribers
Thank you very much, RC PATAPOUF!
Thank you very much, RC PATAPOUF!
Congratulations Mikael! Fantastic collection ❤️
Thanks, Charlie! A lot of fun affordable Tamiyas :-)
Lovely collection - with some really fascinating projects to come...👍.
Thanks! Love my small affordable Tamiyas :-)
That's a nice collection. I like these kind of videos when people show their collection.

DF-03MS of course ...
That was fantastic.

get a 540 in that Grasshopper!
That would certainly spark it up :-) But I have 540s in my Hornets and Rising Fighter, so no need for me right now. Maybe some day :-)
😊👍congrats and nice collection!
Thanks! Love your collection videos. Time for a new soon? :-)
Funny you say that I was thinking over the last few months to do a video showing all my land rc's... but it's such a pain to bring them all outside... today is a pretty nice day out I may do it!
Would love to see them out in the sun :-)

@@NordicRC Thanks for the reply, will definitely look at purchasing both then.
Also want a Frog and Hotshot.
Rad collection!
Thanks a lot Rodney!
Thanks for the great vid!
Yay!
Yes!
wow
Thanks for watching, Reza!
Congrats 2K subs then you should have 2,000 rc cars this year. Hahaha
Thanks! I’m pretty sure if I had 2000 cars both the cars and myself would be kicked out of the house by the Mrs., he he :-)
Hahaha. good thing I dont have Mrs. But my room is too small! hahaha
Well, same reason here. Our home is too small for 2000 cars or 100 for that matter - that's why I would get kicked out :-)
Nordic RC Visions you can use your UA-cam money to buy a bigger house haha
Now he has 4k subs!
