    That sucks I would contact staccato sounds like something might be wrong but me personally I have put 3k rounds through my P and 1500 through my C2 splitting 300 rounds of hst federal 124 and Hornady critical defense between the both of them with no malfunctions or failures to me this platform requires a little more maintenance but there just as reliable as my g45 or p365 hope you can figure it out if any issues it’s an amazing gun

      Yeah that seems to be almost all I hear with the exception of high round count (15-20k and up) samples needing a lot of parts replaced.

    Staccato C2, no issue, ~ 2000 rounds. I recently switched from 509T to Trijicon RCR, and I noticed the 509T damson plate was a bit loose when I was making the switch.

      Seems to be a common issue with these. I’m thinking about switching the optic just because of the funkiness with this plate.

    So far 500 rounds in and no hiccups except one of my mags has a stuck follower. Fired 8 rounds and then click nothing, pulled slide back and there wasn’t anything in the chamber, dropped mag and could see the follower wasn’t moving up. Looked like a couple of rounds just stuck side by side and wedged themselves tight.
    Sent a photo to Staccato and they immediately responded back that they would send me a replacement mag. Custom support is second to none so far but the finicky mag is concerning.
    I was able to clear the jam by taking a socket extension and pushing down on the stuck rounds and released the wedge. These are 3rd gen Staccato mags.

      Thanks for sharing! The mags definitely seem to be the weak link of the system.

    I’ve been very fortunate with my Staccatos. I’d definitely send it in for evaluation if I had the issues you’re having. It’s frustrating for sure, but I’ve spent more money on guns that performed far worse.
    If/ when you get it resolved, I hope you make another video telling us what they found the issue to be.

    I'm coming from just having watched your 2011 v. striker gun video. Watching this is making me think this is probably the realistic ownership experience of the average staccato owner, and you're basically saying the quiet part out loud.
    Thank you for your insight.

      I’ve definitely been around others with a little bit better luck, but I do think there has to be some realistic expectations with these.

    I too have had magazine issues.. they are under sprung. Atlas Gun Works sells a better spring and follower for around 112-12 Bucks IIRC and it cures the top round from launching out of the mag. Mine has a habit of launching the first round when I remove the mag from the gun. GRRRRRR!!! can't believe they have not addressed this known issue as it has been an issue for quite some time.
    I need to cure this.
    the top of the hammer where it rides the slide is also getting badly worn. It acts like a typical soft MIM Part which is supposedly is not supposed to be. I will say in shooting I've never had a single malfunction other than failure to lock back on empty chamber. That could very well be me riding the slide release though.

    I considered a Staccato P but the price point was a reach for me.
    My first 2011 (ish) was a SA Prodigy and it was utter trash
    Then I got a Bul Armory SAS Tac 2 - 1400 flawless rounds with JHP or FMJ - it’s head for cerakotubg and gave the barrel cut flush and crowned (I scratched the slide learning to put it back together)
    My 3 rd is the Jacob Grey TWc-9 that hasn’t arrived yet
    I’ll get the Staccato P for Xmas

    Also just curious, did you guys that have had issues all order your guns around the same time? Maybe bad batch? Or what has staccato said is the issue. Again not discrediting anything you’ve said, just curious and want to know what to lookout for! I can’t run one for duty, but I actually edc one and instruct classes with mine! I have 4,000 rounds through mine

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  3 місяці тому +2

      Yeah we all ordered around the same time. One theory is that we ordered right around the time they switched facilities (their new building) so maybe that had an effect. Of the ones that were RMA’d, one had its barrel link replaced, and another had the feed ramp contoured.

    Thanks for the honest video. I was thinking about buying that gun tomorrow but now absolutely no way I’m spending that much money on unreliable gun.

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  3 місяці тому

      Yeah the price makes the issues hurt more for sure. It's still a nice pistol, don't get me wrong. The way I kind of see it now is that if you have some extra money and want something cool, go for it. If you want a dead nuts reliable duty gun, maybe this isn't it. Lots of people claim to have none of these issues though, so your mileage may vary.

      @@MagDumpGunsI don’t have the P I have a cs - 3k + rounds down range in the past year and 0 malfunctions. Never a jam, malfunction, not even so much as a light primer strike. Sounds like you got a bad model but I’ve heard staccato has the best customer service

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  3 місяці тому

      @@Alexonthetube yeah not trying to discredit those who have good pistols, and there seem to be a lot of them, I just saw a bigger percentage have failures than I am comfortable with. They do seem to be good about fixing any problems though.

    Glock has its place. But 2011’s really does need to be treated like a sports car. Cant be dry and mags need more tuning/maintenance. Also staccato mags are notorious for being under-sprung.

    So you’re in law enforcement and have only put 1300 rounds down the pipe in 6-7 months? Yeah this is what’s wrong with LE training. You should be running 500 or more rounds every month.

    • @MagDumpGuns
      @MagDumpGuns  3 місяці тому +3

      This is not my duty weapon as I explained in the video. Those rounds were to vet the platform to see if I trusted it for duty use or not. Since it’s not the subject of this video, I did not outline how many rounds I shoot per month through my duty pistol. Thanks for your concern though.
