After the class on fMRI, I was like "what??? What just happened in the last 90 minutes?" After watching this video, I'm like "OHHHHHHH. OH OH OH" Many thanks!
+Mikio Herzberg Thanks for the vid. Glad I found this. I'm looking for inspiration because I have to present some fMRI studies in a few days to get a teaching recommendation ^^
I recently completed my PhD in psychology/fMRI and I'm now going to start a postdoc using fMRI data. Despite being kind of an expert in the area, I'm still amazed by how it works, and still watching this video from time to time. The best short explanation of this technology out there IMO.
WOW, I have STRUGGLED with this concept for SOOOO LONG, thank you Mikio - it was simple all along!!! You made that very very clear and now I feel very confident for the imaging part of the exam.
Wow, very impressive video, I particularly enjoyed the visual aspect of the video with use of excellent animations. Thank you for making this subject more approachable for us doctors who are not radiologists :)
This is the best BOLD explanation I have ever listened to. No matter how much literature I have read, I always come to this video for clarifying my mind on BOLD. Thank you very much
That was excellent! Thank you! I am teaching an enrichment course for IB students in Brazil giving them an intro to Neuro-sciences and this video will be very helpful to show them how the brain is studied and how we can say the things we say about the brain and its functions. :)
Yes, there was simply no video that would explain it properly. So after 5 years of studying neuroscience and not understanding exactly how fMRI works I just had to do this! I'm glad you find it helpful!
Thank you! Fantastic video, clear explanations and great animations. Even a Pediatrician can follow the Physics of all things technical! Keep up the good work.
That was clear and to the basic understanding. Can you give a roadmap of how to start working over fMRI Analysis for a beginner, if possible. Will really help many like me to start over...

Many thanks!
And because I felt just like you after some of these lectures I made this video :-D
Haha same
exactly my experience, except, it was an online class, i ended up watching half of it in my sleep.
your way of explanation is really comprehensible
Wow, just perfect! Easy to understand, condensed and on-the-point, garnished with very nice Animations! Thanks a lot :)
That was my intention!so glad i got my points across. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes animation was key to helping with understanding.
My Man, you're just saving my exam in Methods of psychology

This is EXACTLY the type of explanation I was looking for. REALLY WELL DONE! I understand the mechanisms behind fMRI a lot better now. THANK YOU!
Amazing!!! can you please make more videos ! This is the best youtube i've seen in my 27 years of existence

Recently started in a lab with fMRI topics, this is very well explained and easy to understand. Thank you!
Honestly the best explanation of fMRI I have come across so far, much better than the textbook I am currently reading. Thanks a lot!
Brilliant video, Philipp! Keep them coming!
You get the talent of a great teacher, explain things simple and clear. Thanks.
Way better and more passionate explanation than my prof
The last sentence of the video gave me a goose bump.
Wow, very impressive video, I particularly enjoyed the visual aspect of the video with use of excellent animations. Thank you for making this subject more approachable for us doctors who are not radiologists :)
what an amazing video. you're exceptional at explaining difficult stuff. You should get so many more subscribers
Excellent job, Philipp! Good luck!
Wow!! I never understood it until now!
Finally a video that makes the mechanism behind fMRI easy to understandI! Thanks a lot :)
Brilliant. Very well communicated.
Great explanation of a complex topic!
Thank you so much! I am organizing a journal club for undergrads and this is the perfect place to start!
fantastic! I understood more from this than from 4 hours of physio lectures at uni
Great job. Visualization - full points! , analogies for better understanding - full points.
Great job Philipp!! This should continue long-term :)
Very nice - pretty sophisticated explanation of how fMRI measures brain activity, made understandable.
Well done explaining such a complicated topic.
Great video! Really liked the animations and the analogies you used :)
Really well explained, thank you! I would suggest to turn the volume of the music a bit down next time, but all in all very helpful :)
This video is amazing! You are amazing!! The way you were able to condense the 2 page garble in my textbook in a mere 6 minutes- Thank you so much!!
This is the best BOLD explanation I have ever listened to. No matter how much literature I have read, I always come to this video for clarifying my mind on BOLD. Thank you very much
Very happy to read your message. 5 years of neuroscience courses didn't clarify to me how BOLD works. This video was born out of that frustration
Really good explanation, Philipp. You will be a great teacher!
Yes!! Using the human brain to study the human brain...mind blown. My favorite thing about this discipline.
Awesome video!
Good job! Very cool insights into how the fMRI works. I was in one last year and was actually curious how it functions.
Brilliant explanation man! Helped me a lot. Thanks a great deal.
This is amazing! So easy to understand for non-native english speaker like me 💓
Incredible explanation, much better then that of my professor medical imaging!!

Very well explained with excellent animations and metaphors! Good job!
Great job!!! Nice video editing too!
great job my friend!!!! keep working its going well!
Thank you, this is so clear!!
Great video Phillip! Good luck :)
OMG SUCH AN AWESOME VIDEO. Thank you so much for your help!
Really cool!!! Interesting and understandable for all ages!!! You have a gift :)
Thank you! Fantastic video, clear explanations and great animations. Even a Pediatrician can follow the Physics of all things technical! Keep up the good work.
this is so good why do you have only one video like this
Because that video took me 2 weeks of day in day out work. But maybe I'll come back to making videos one day - I teach science at a school now.
@@ScienceOfTeaching That is nice. I hope you the students enjoy your teaching!
best explanation ever , thank you
This is very helpful! Thank you for sharing!
Awesome :)! Can't imagine how one could explain it better!
Beautifully explain!!

Great job with the video!!
thank you so much for the video it helps me a lot understanding how fMRI works!
Great explanation, helped me a great deal to understand the workings of FMRI. Thank you.
doing research for a project on fMRI... thanks for a great introduction to the topic!
My God, thank you for that. I get it now. The visual and examples that were given made your explanation of the topic understandable.
A great video ! very simple explained !!!
That was clear and to the basic understanding. Can you give a roadmap of how to start working over fMRI Analysis for a beginner, if possible. Will really help many like me to start over...
Amazing explanation!
Amazing video .... very precise and in generic science terminologies... thanks for that.
Excellent video, thank you very much. Very very helpful!! :)
