Actually it’s because most Vancouverians (not including me because I love the MAX and all transport but I like trains more than busses) threw fits over people going over to Oregon and buying groceries to avoid sales tax (Stupid really) and unfortunately most Vancouverians don’t like transit at all. That will change by 2030 at the latest because right now the government is saying no MAX, no bridge and trust me, the I-5 bridge is getting old.
@Shizune Hakamichi Unless you left out "City" (As in Oregon City doesn't want this like someone in this reply chain said about Vancouver), any state politicians who want to make transportation difficult for any reason needs to leave the state permanently.
I never understood why Orange and Yellow are separate. It would be pretty cool if Orange and Green met up in Oregon City and Orange/Yellow went into Vancouver.
@@PTB_BE Yellow line came first. Then they decided to extend it down to Milwaukee and gave it a brand new color for no reason except for marketing purposes. They should have realized there is a long-term benefit to just keep the name as the yellow line - since it is literally the same line - and reduce confusion. Hopefully they'll wake up one day and realize their awful mistake.
@@Sumguy21 Not all Yellow Line trains go to Milwaukie and not all Orange Line trains go to or from the Expo Center. Arguably it's less confusing to have both lines begin or end downtown, even if they're usually the same train, since that's how the great majority of riders use it. What's confusing is those Blue Line trains that end at Beaverton.

Probably not since the camera sounds like its on the outside. On the inside, you'll get all the passenger sounds like loud chatter and crying children, plus the camera would be in the cab which the driver may prefer not to have that.
@@a.nonymouse1291 Loud chatter and crying children? Unlikely, considering these ride-alongs are being shot during the pandemic. Notice how desolate things are.
@@a.nonymouse1291 I think they've got the announcements off for these ride-alongs because you should be able to hear them. You can hear a white-crowned sparrow singing at 7:08 and a little bird isn't as loud as an announcement.
Thanks from the UK, have been wanting to see MAX front views for ages. Its not owned by Trimet but I don't suppose the Portland Streetcar would be possible too?
You do not want to move there, there is a huge Homeless problem, downtown is boarded up, tents and camps everywhere. these max trains smell like body odor from the homeless who ride them. also Covid is there one of the most dangerous to have covid
When the covid is over, these lines will be packed and busy again. the only one that is usually packed and busy is the red or blue line from downtown to beaverton transit center...then its pretty empty to hillsboro
Type 2 trains have manual mirrors whereas the Type 3s have automatic mirrors. The seats inside in a Type 3 have a higher seat back compared to the Type 2s where the seat backs are shorter.
This should go to Oregon City and be combined with a yellow line to Vancouver. Would solve a lot of car traffic in Portland
@Shizune Hakamichi Yeah and portland doesn't want crowded highways
I think the Yellow Line was originally supposed to go to Vancouver but Vancouver didn't want to pay their fair share of construction.

THE ORANGE LINE IS JUST AN EXTENSION OF THE YELLOW LINE there i said it
The yellow line is an extension of the orange line.

I had the announcements playing in my head lol
Aka, riding the Yellow Line: Part 2 haha
@Shizune Hakamichi right but it starts exactly after the yellow line video. Same recording, split in two
It would've made more sense for trimet to call it the yellow line instead of creating a different line.
It’s weird because it isn’t the yellow line but at the same time it is because that definitely makes sense

As a local this really is great too, Hoping Trimet shares more.
TriMet actually operates the Streetcar even though it's owned by the city, so drop the TriMet PR people a note.
