If they decide to make another suit midway into the war, it will cost them more. Like the comment earlier, it is better to upgrade existing models rather than make new ones
Never tired of gunpla reviews! I watch reviews for figures I would never get and sometimes I end up wanting them(for accessories or whatever). Im waiting for this kit to come in in the next hour or 2. Awesome that you did the seam !line video as its about to be NY first HG and hopefully first painted kit!
Great review, I painted some white accents on things like the head, shield, hands, etc and it really makes it stand out, I paired it with my c-6 kit and they look great together.
Guess my thinking would a brown panel lining on this kit? And it needs the standard zaku weapon when the Gatling gun on the backpack, bandai needs to come up with a geara doga half cannon version
One kit we do need in this line is the revised version of the Guncannon in white base colours (aka the one in red with regular hands, two shoulder cannons and two vents on the backpack).
It is not the same design though, especially if you look it from the back. The classic version has that kinda goofy pair of cylinders on the back and the origin one got a couple of more industrial looking vents.
Yay, I just finished building this kit yesterday and I have to say it looks way better on the flesh. Those red stripes stickers are horrendous, though. Bandai seriousy needs to update their waterslide decals for the HGGO line.
I absolutely do want to see your tips for modifying the legs. The leg seams on the high mobility were hell to deal with, and those tips may have made that build less painful. Those normal Zaku legs look a lot less difficult to seam weld than the high mobility type's.
What's your favorite 1/144 scape Zaku kit so far? I'm a Zaku fanatic, and I'm always looking for cool new ones. Still waiting on the Super Custom F2000 and Zaku I Thunderbolt Ver. to reprint in the meantime 😭
I never got why this ended up retail while the Zaku cannon test type ended up as a p-bandai because a origin Zaku that isn't just a basic weapon swap probably would be far popular sales wise to one that looks like the same Zaku 2 suit with a different backpack, but oh well. Here's to hoping bandai releases a proper hg origin Zaku cannon as a retail kit
I have way too many zaku 2s, MG and HG, and yet I'm still not tired of it. Every HG they come out with (recently) has new parts that make customization incredibly easy and fun. I'm definitely getting this one to go with my C5. I am definitely repainting it. I kinda wish the color palette they chose was the same as the Thunderbolt Zaku 1 (I really loved that kit).
Might be the Build Fighter in me, but I would kinda like a cannon mounting for the left Smoke Launcher side of the back pack, and maybe a right Smoke Launcher while we're at it... I like muh SYMMETRY, thus being able to go full cannon or shoulder gatlings.
I have this one and it my first Gunpla but I guess I played with it to much and the joints got loose also some parts broke like a piece on the head which holds the pipes and the deactivated heat hawk but I managed to fix it, those in my opinions are the only negatives. BUT they get over shadowed by THE WEAPONS although I did wish it came with a zaku machine gun but I understand. yeah 8/10
Oh NO!!!!! You got the cheek-pipes upside-down!!! They should curve upwards as they go to the back of the head, so you have unrestricted head movement! Every Gunpla youtuber lately has been getting their Origin head pipes wrong, and idk what it is!?!
Seems really common for the HG zaku kits people always get them upsise down for some reason. Plus lots of builders don't look at the manual to much if they have built the kit too much
Travis Nichols Oh yeah, that's a fair point. Burn-out from oversaturation of variants can make them fall back on memory rather than referencing the images.
Out Of Box- as in the kit is presented exactly as it would be right out of the box without any painting or anything added. The term “Out of box” in modeling can also refer to painting a kit in its official color scheme, but that’s not how I mean the term for these reviews.
Vust Valeo weren't the hguc high mobility type zakus essentially revives cause if I recall they had different proportions compared to the normal hguc zaku though tbh the reason why is probably because of the hg origin Zaku
No wonder Zeon lost the war. They spent all their money on zaku variants.
Jake Theberge tweaking already existing suits is a far better than constantly devolping different mobile armor prototypes
OnFireGamer, agreed, however, Zeon did make too many water based suite.
Jake Theberge that and limited resources cause them the whole war.
If they decide to make another suit midway into the war, it will cost them more. Like the comment earlier, it is better to upgrade existing models rather than make new ones
OnFireGamer I know. Its why the zaku f2 exists. I was mainly poking fun at bandai's mass over production of origin zakus.
Ive got 5 of these kits so far and i will get all the variants! I love these reviews to see what different accessories come with each

Its the problem with Mass Production types. They Just keep making them.
I love this kit, probably my favorite HG Origin Zaku retool. Looks great once panel lined. The gatling gun is awesome.
Its weird that the Half-Cannon came semi recently as a UC MSV-R design but its first gunpla is Origin MSD kit. Either way looks pretty cool
This is my favorite of the new Zaku kits, although the red trim stickers suck; it was easier to mask and paint them and looks better.
Guess my thinking would a brown panel lining on this kit? And it needs the standard zaku weapon when the Gatling gun on the backpack, bandai needs to come up with a geara doga half cannon version
We need a new GM, Bandai.
Kyle Morgan plenty of new GM suits coming out this year and next year as well.
Still got the great mg gm snipers
We need a new Bandai, GM.
I was looking into getting a few Origin Kits, I'll add this one to my list!
One kit we do need in this line is the revised version of the Guncannon in white base colours (aka the one in red with regular hands, two shoulder cannons and two vents on the backpack).
felipe morelatto I'd imagine they'll release one sometime in 2018 or 2019
The Guncannon has a nice Revive edition already
It is not the same design though, especially if you look it from the back. The classic version has that kinda goofy pair of cylinders on the back and the origin one got a couple of more industrial looking vents.
is it possible to put both the cannon and the Gatling gun on the backpack at the same time ? ( one on each side )
Can they give us some alternate origin hands for the zaku. Some left trigger finger and right Open Hands would be great.
This is going to be my first Zaku kit...
This is my second, my first one was zaku I from thunderbolt
This is my first kit
its been three years, how is it
Imma buy this in christmas
Yay, I just finished building this kit yesterday and I have to say it looks way better on the flesh.
Those red stripes stickers are horrendous, though. Bandai seriousy needs to update their waterslide decals for the HGGO line.
I’m still confused to why the massive retool that is the normal Zaku Cannon is P-Bandai and the Half Cannon is regular Bandai
I absolutely do want to see your tips for modifying the legs. The leg seams on the high mobility were hell to deal with, and those tips may have made that build less painful. Those normal Zaku legs look a lot less difficult to seam weld than the high mobility type's.
will put it on my to-do list!
whats up with gunpla reviewers currently placed the head hoses in the wrong way?
the hose is the wrong way? THE HOSE IS UPSIDE DOWN! OH MY GOD!! I"VE GOTTA DELETE THE VIDEO AND DELETE MY CHANNEL AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!!
@@ZakuAurelius Am I sensing some silly sass?

May I suggest using a Zaku mariner head since it's mono-eye can look straight up with out moving the head itself.
Can't wait for the HG action zaku when it comes out
I never got why this ended up retail while the Zaku cannon test type ended up as a p-bandai because a origin Zaku that isn't just a basic weapon swap probably would be far popular sales wise to one that looks like the same Zaku 2 suit with a different backpack, but oh well. The way Bandai keeps this up they might as well do a Zaku Unicorn with Psycho Frame
The closest you can get to that (so far anyways) is the MSN-01 Psycommu Test High Mobility Type Zaku II.
Me too
Oh my god yes
Looking forward to building mine.
Malibu Stacey with a new hat...I need it!
I'm a rabid zaku collector so I love it
any idea where to buy this?
Might be the Build Fighter in me, but I would kinda like a cannon mounting for the left Smoke Launcher side of the back pack, and maybe a right Smoke Launcher while we're at it...
I like muh SYMMETRY, thus being able to go full cannon or shoulder gatlings.
Donald Witt
Then there's a P-Bandai just for you, look it up.
SYMMETRY? Look at Perfect Strike Gundam!
Thomas Tsui look at wing fenice,or exia repair while you're at it.
I have this one and it my first Gunpla but I guess I played with it to much and the joints got loose also some parts broke like a piece on the head which holds the pipes and the deactivated heat hawk but I managed to fix it, those in my opinions are the only negatives. I'm a zaku fanatic, I'm in heaven
love this zaku variation
It yellow. Perfect a zaku that isn't green or red
I like the Zaku kits, and this one looks cool, but yeah i agree i think the stickers aren't so great
Really thinking of getting 3 Canons... So that I can build the Desert Squad. Just need Regular back packs
Oh NO!!!!! You got the cheek-pipes upside-down!!! They should curve upwards as they go to the back of the head, so you have unrestricted head movement!
Every Gunpla youtuber lately has been getting their Origin head pipes wrong, and idk what it is!?!
If you compare to one of your older Origin Zakus, you'll notice the mistake in the aesthetic and articulation discrepancy!!!
Awesome kit!
Do you have the zaku ii f2 earth federation color gunpla
nope, but it's exactly the same as the Zeon version, which I did review.
I still love the Zaku Kits form GtO, even if they are just variants.
Shades of mustard!
I wish these Zaku kits have left trigger hands.
the Thunderbolt Zaku may be for you
What is oob?
Out Of Box- as in the kit is presented exactly as it would be right out of the box without any painting or anything added. The term
“Out of box” in modeling can also refer to painting a kit in its official color scheme, but that’s not how I mean the term for these reviews.
love it, don't like the colors so i'll give mine the typical 2 shades of green so it matches my other zakus
Um just take the backpack. The color is the point
These zaku variant kit just keep me avoiding GTO line....I'm a federation guy tho. C'mon, we don't even have a GM yet!
叶川ヒロ well the gm hadn't existed yet with the animes so you're gonna have to wait probably till 2019
Bandai should work on upgrading the model kits heads. They have been very similar for decades!
Christian Mejia Zack screwed up the head pipes....
Jetfire48 ohhhhh your right. Good eye
yea another cool zaku
It wasnt p bandai
so many HG Origin Zaku variants yet no HGUC Revive Zaku, really?
Vust Valeo weren't the hguc high mobility type zakus essentially revives cause if I recall they had different proportions compared to the normal hguc zaku though tbh the reason why is probably because of the hg origin Zaku
No need. Every HGOrigin Zakus are essentially Zaku revive.
a bit "gouf"y lmao
