Had a little laugh at 3 53 as I did that late last year, came to a standstill and fell off, but I bent my little finger and the one next to it back 90° when I put my hand out. Painful but funny at the same time. Of course I received the usual rude remarks about having to use the other hand within 20 seconds of doing it( probably less than 20secs actually)😅 and they still take the piss now. Good to see even the greatest riders can make a weird mistake.
Get this...I have been slowly dipping my feet into mountain biking watching channels like these. I finally decided to get a bike and spent weeks researching. Found a bike that I liked, got a bike rack and drove out to an awesome trail. Had a great first ride and I was feeling alive! The next day I woke up and my foot like a potato. Went to the doctor and it turns out that I literally got a stress fracture on my foot because my little gamer feet weren't ready for the force of pedaling. You know what? I can't wait to go out again. Hang in there and thank you for making these videos.
Sometimes, you can’t feel the stoke. Sometimes, a trail I have done confidently, frightens me on other days. Days like these, I just do a casual ride.Keep moving for fitness. To be honest, road rides are great for these days.
Remy, your "bad" rides are what most of us aspire to! Thanks for keeping it real though, it's inspiring to see that even top tier riders don't always "feel it". Good on you for posting it, a lot wouldn't. Thanks for the great channel and videos, I'm an intermediate level rider and I have a ways to go... but your body positioning and bike control tips and techniques have made me a better and more confident rider. Cheers.
I almost broke my toe a couple months ago kicking a rock like that. Glad you’re ok. It’s difficult for me to remember sometimes, but don’t be too hard on yourself, everyone has “off” days. There are plenty of people that would love to live one of your most difficult/frustrating days.
I was expecting a gnarly crash. Glad that wasn’t the case! I was just in a near-fatal mtb crash and I’m not giving it up! Keep crushin’ it, brother! 🤙🏼
I crashed this weekend. You're right, some days are better than others. You may have been physically and mentally fatigued from not eating. Me? I did a ride from point to point. I was really drained but decided to go back the opposite way. I was also setting up my suspension. I just walked up an incline with my bike because I was so tired. When I went to pop of a 8' foot slope I landed too far off the trail, then I got bucked OTB. Two guys had to walk me off the trail. I was so made at myself because I know better than to ride tech when I'm that tired but did it anyway. Some of the stuff we all ride takes strength and mental focus. Lesson: Don't ever, get complacent, or ride fatigued, or not having your bike set up right. I'm glad you didn't get hurt Remy.
Thanks Remy for taking us out for a ride. Ouch, that unseen rock on the single track seemed like an unwelcome surprise! Your shoe indeed seemed to take some of the blow, really underlines the importance of having the right gear when out on the tracks. Keep riding, stay safe, and let's keep sharing our trail adventures. Cheers, mate
everyday cant be bangers and the level you ride at even your worst day would be my best but when its struggle and your getting banged up doesnt matter how good you are it can be discouraging, but we all know why we keep doing it and the bad days should help us appreciate the good days even more.
You should do a video about how you come back from bad days. Everyone has them at every level and your followers might benefit from your insight. Or maybe have a special guest like a sports physiologist instead of a riding guest. You could sit and talk about the mental side of the game. Also great to remember you didn’t get hurt and even a bad day on the bike is better than not riding at all! (IMO) Keep the videos coming!!
Glad to know I'm not the only one who does this. I was giving up and selling my bike too after my last ride. It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. The next ride will be better 🚴
Done that a couple times before. I just recently clipped a hidden stump along a trail that sent me spinning an broke my carbon crank arm. I was also wearing the exact same Fizik mtb shoes you are wearing. They are tough shoes. Made well. Glad you’re okay dude!
Definitely had those days on the trail and the same thoughts regardless of the activity, weather it was MTB’s, climbing, or skiing. It is really frustrating to not preform at the level you’re accustom to. On the bright side you didn’t break yourself or the bike, which is as much as we can ask for some days.
Ive been remembering the sentiment of doing some “maintenance” on natural single track since seeing it in Remys videos over the years.. I mostly rode/ride alone unless I’m with my dog, so never really gave it to much thought. Anyways, fastforward til today and now I’m spending all the time I can building trails anonymously, but where I know people can find them. The “favour” or karma whatever you wanna call it -system works. I/we are being helped out by people we never even met, we realize once in a while! (We’re guessing the people that returned the tools we leave at the trails are the ones being cool, and different people knicked them)
Hi Remy, everybody can have a bad day. I can imagine that it feels terrible if it is that bad day. But don't worry, next time its better. I like the video very much. You are great Remy, you inspire many people including myself. Greetings from the Netherlands William 😎
We all have days like this, it's impossible not to. That trail looks like it's in need of some maintenance and a bit of a janky build, so I wouldn't blame it all on your riding. Cheers Remy 👊
I got arm-pump about 2 minutes into the video just from watching 😁 ! My desert southwest trails are tame in comparison , but you motivated me to go for a ride 👍 !!
Nnnnoooo.. not allowed to quit.. I learn so much from you.. you build my confidence in riding to the point I hit my first real bike trail over the past week. Before I was just bombing stairs.. in the future I’m ok with being hurt.. however, you lew and pilgrim saved my life and helped get me sober for the first time since I was a child. I have spoken.. lol jk on that part I have spoken
Really, really sweet trails in this vid. The hunger messes with your focus, you seemed almost human in this video. Lol Seriously though, you always bring your A game. Cheers, mate!
Amazing POV as usual, and a very relatable story. Just wanted to mention I think the description got copied from your last video! Thanks again for being such an inspiration, even on days like this!
Yeah bad days just happen, had one yesterday felt like riding a bike for the first time :D Thank you for sharing, always good to see even someone at your level can experience sudden lack of talent :D
Well we all know how you feel, and probably more often than it happens to you lol. I went to Squamish about three weeks ago to Alice lake and crashed on entrails 🤦. It was a little step down feature with a right turn and somehow I flipped over and landed on my back. Yep, we all have those days.
I always tell myself that its all about the mindset. One day I'll call a mistake "gnarly" and the other day I'll call it "stupid". We just need to enjoy the time on the bike and not worry about our riding
I was relieved at the end of the video, because from the title I expected a crash, and I was saying throughout the whole video "please don't crash", because the speed you rode on these extremely technical trails was scary, having the title of the video in my mind. I would not have recognized that it was not a good run from you, if you did not say so. Keep on rolln', peace from Hungary, best regards: Gergő
Great to hear that such a skilled pro rider like u also sometimes struggles with his performance. Guess that's just human😊 although looking at your shred it u can't be "human" hahaha🔥🔥
Remy you are a awesome mountain bike advocate. That’s done wonderful things for the sport of mountain biking, That’s why I’m gonna give you a pass on the don’t cry 😢ride.
HEY ! I have ridden hundreds of. Miles of mtn trails on motorcycles and mtn bike. I consider my skills EXPERT LEVEL..dude..great work in there.!!!..this stuff is EXPERT ONLY LEVEL newbies stay home....I THOUGHT YOUR DECISION MAKING and trail reading was freaking great in some BONEY and highly technical Shit bro.loved watching you get it done...would love to ride with you guys because that kinda shit TURNS ME ON ...great work. !!
Hey man, everyone is allowed to have off days. Maybe you even HAVE to have them, or you wouldn't know how good the on days are! That said, I'm curious what others do when they get in a bad mindset on a ride. I find that once I get in a bad place, it's SO hard to break out.
That’s the first time I laughed today. I hear ya. I love mountain biking. But being in Alabama, I would be scared to think about riding most of this stuff
Click bait, we all have bad days. It’s best to know when to call it and do something else if you’re not feeling it that day. Stay safe and enjoy your pizza!
Ha ha, well done for the click bait title. If you give up mtb I'm sure you'll be an elite champion at pétanque in Grasse with the old ones ;) Cheers mec.
Seeing these off-day videos are just as valuable as your stellar moments, thanks for sharing Remy, respect.
I know the feeling. Kind of cool to see even top-flight riders have off days and get frustrated, like the rest of us.
Yeah. Makes him seem much more relatable. I’m glad he still posted this even though it wasn’t his best.
Had a little laugh at 3 53 as I did that late last year, came to a standstill and fell off, but I bent my little finger and the one next to it back 90° when I put my hand out. Your worst day is the best day I can only dream about…
Yeah his riding was still elite.
Absolutely……Remy’s worst day is my best day ever! 😅
Agreed my friends!
Sometimes, you can’t feel the stoke. Sometimes, a trail I have done confidently, frightens me on other days. Days like these, I just do a casual ride.Keep moving for fitness. To be honest, road rides are great for these days.
or trail building, I've found building something fun to ride gets me stoked again
Roads are scarier to me than trails- distracted drivers are out of your control.

This is when you have love something when you have a bad day. And you can't wait to do it again !!

The worst day of biking still beats the best day of court ordered anger management sessions
Bad day or not, you’re a surgeon with that bike. Thanks for sharing this video. If those are the trails you navigate, you have my undying respect!
A bad day on the bike beats a good day at the office - unless there’s injuries involved.
Remy your worst day riding is 100 times better than my best day riding pal. Keep smiling
You should do a video about how you come back from bad days. Everyone has them at every level and your followers might benefit from your insight. Or maybe have a special guest like a sports physiologist instead of a riding guest. You could sit and talk about the mental side of the game.

Keep the videos coming!!
I sprained my thumb on Saturday riding in the wet so I know how you feel Rémy, we’ll be back in the groove soon. Rest up well!
That sucks
Glad to know I'm not the only one who does this. I was giving up and selling my bike too after my last ride. It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. The next ride will be better 🚴

Wow what an amazing trail!
Makes you more human. Great to see even our superheroes have off-days :)
Your worst day on the trail making a living still exceeds my best day at the office making a living!
Hi Remy, everybody can have a bad day. I can imagine that it feels terrible if it is that bad day.
But don't worry, next time its better.
I like the video very much.
You are great Remy, you inspire many people including myself.

I got arm-pump about 2 minutes into the video just from watching 😁 ! My desert southwest trails are tame in comparison , but you motivated me to go for a ride 👍 !!
I would ride these trails terribly too... but any days, all days :D
I just broke that same toe the same way a week ago 😖 Stay healthy so I can watch you as I heal up 🤟
I had the same feeling yesterday. It just felt off but my times were still really good, managed to grab 2 KOMs…
Nahh…don’t worry… you ride better than most of us!!😄 By the way: the trail choice is still on point! Really awesome, these ones!!🤩
sometimes its nice to see videos at this pace so we can better see and understand the lines taken.
Remy has an off day....still f*cking murders it.
Nnnnoooo.. not allowed to quit.. I learn so much from you.. you build my confidence in riding to the point I hit my first real bike trail over the past week. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, take a long break and come back again, works for me.
Such a gnarly chunky trail! Would love to ride it!
That's how I feel everytime I ride my bike! 😂
Really, really sweet trails in this vid. The hunger messes with your focus, you seemed almost human in this video. Lol
Seriously though, you always bring your A game. Cheers, mate!
Gnarly trail. Just enough room to get the handle bars through. It also kills hitting your foot on a rock.
You are alive. I would call that a win.
I have been there one day I’m riding like a pro the next it’s like I’m a beginner!
This is pretty much what we feel, when the trail is possible for us but we are riding it blind and it feels impossible to ride.
Sickening how on a bad day your riding, line choice etc is at a high level I have never reached
If I could ride like this, it would be a dream day!
Amazing POV as usual, and a very relatable story. Just wanted to mention I think the description got copied from your last video! Thanks again for being such an inspiration, even on days like this!
Hey, RE: description - he was having an off day ;)
Take the rest of the day (week, whatever) off. You've more than earned it. 👊
Yeah bad days just happen, had one yesterday felt like riding a bike for the first time :D Thank you for sharing, always good to see even someone at your level can experience sudden lack of talent :D

I would seriously love having your bad days as my good ones.
Honestly, most of the time I was like, 'what trail?'
Such a beautiful trail, especially at the bottom... Well, your mood is gonna come back with food. And a detox is always worth it (just guessing) ;-)
I always tell myself that its all about the mindset. One day I'll call a mistake "gnarly" and the other day I'll call it "stupid". We just need to enjoy the time on the bike and not worry about our riding

need some sticks to mark the trail, hold my beer....puts full grown trees 😅
Folks, all Remy needed was a turkey sandwich and his A-game would have been brought. All hail the turkey club! Gobble gobble.
Great to hear that such a skilled pro rider like u also sometimes struggles with his performance. Guess that's just human😊 although looking at your shred it u can't be "human" hahaha🔥🔥
Just burnt out, I’d say, take a week or two away from anything to do with bikes, get plenty of sleep and relax. 👍
That trail was so steep and technical. I don’t think I would enjoy that one. Never good to ride on an empty stomach.
Solid bloke for moving that rock
I’ve caught my right foot under an old stump and pretty sure I broke a couple toes when I did it luckily it was in the passed
Remy you are a awesome mountain bike advocate. That’s done wonderful things for the sport of mountain biking, That’s why I’m gonna give you a pass on the don’t cry 😢ride.
Bro, most of us even do not dream to ride like you !
Still, kind a nice to see that even Remy is a human being, after all. :)
A bad day for him is still better than my good days
Wish I could ride that terribly 😄🤘
Remy, I need tips and tricks for riding very dry terrain that is very loose, that is my MTB nemesis right now ahaha
I think you need a foot long sub with a coke and chips followed promptly by a nap. Then you’ll be back on form.
yea if i dont eat its like the whole world has ended lol. I ride terribly most of the time but i try to enjoy it
Some days it just doesn't come together! At least you avoided getting into any trouble
So glad to know these days happen even to the pros.
Hey Remy, do you wear a back protector when going out on a normal ride? or just knee protectors?
on your worst day still better than 95% of us :)
Is your gopro working well?
There’s no such thing as a bad bike ride.
if u moved a rock out of the way like that in australia a brown snake and a family of spiders would eat you
Crushes double blacks - Stubs toe on a rock, decides to quit haha.
Hey man, everyone is allowed to have off days. Maybe you even HAVE to have them, or you wouldn't know how good the on days are!
That said, I'm curious what others do when they get in a bad mindset on a ride. I find that once I get in a bad place, it's SO hard to break out.
The whirring noise from the cycle must drive you mad.
i was more focused on that magnificent drool at 5:35
Does anyone know the name of these trails?
It would be great if you labeled the trails in your videos...so I could add them to the list of trails I should never try to ride. 😬
That’s the first time I laughed today. I hear ya. I love mountain biking. But being in Alabama, I would be scared to think about riding most of this stuff
That got so steep.
I was going to say I can only dream about riding like that. And that is a bad day for you. I hate you. 😂
he's human!
If it was easy we wouldn't do it
Anybody else wish this could be a "terrible" day of riding?
Same shit happened to me last week..
Click bait, we all have bad days. It’s best to know when to call it and do something else if you’re not feeling it that day. Stay safe and enjoy your pizza!
Everything in the universe is relative and all that but if you didn’t hurt yourself badly while riding trails like that I would consider a good day!
Your bad riding beats my best riding by several levels 😂I can do that trail 100 times and not ride like you just did on your bad day
Ha ha, well done for the click bait title. If you give up mtb I'm sure you'll be an elite champion at pétanque in Grasse with the old ones ;) Cheers mec.
finally, we now know you are human. 👍🏼
Hahaha....if this is terrible...you should see what I can do...
Some days you're just not feeling it
Now... Ride it in reverse! If you're a real mountain biker!
The bait was clicked
Why?
