WAY TO GENERAL.. what you really need to look for when buying a wrx or sti
    1. Stock everything, stock means the person wasn’t too into the modding part of subies, therefore less abuse (most of the time)
    2. Even if they say it’s “stock” check for turbo heat shield still in place, check for any missing bolts ANYWHERE.
    3. This is an Obvious when buying any used car, check fluids and check for fluid leaks, axles, trans, engine.
    4. Open oil cap and check for a milkshake (failed headgasket)
    5. Test drive, check for shaking steering wheel, do some sharp turns checking for any clicks/thumps. Check how car runs at idle, should be Smooth and consistent rpm.
You are now a Subaru specialist..

Buying a used wrx or sti is like getting handed a grenade with the pin pulled, only a matter of time before it blows. Buying one brand new is like getting a grenade with the pin still in place, it's up to you if your gonna pull it (mod it, beat the shit out of it, etc) and blow up or keep the pin in (take care of it, dont mod it, dont beat the hell out of it).

Another comment at the end of this video: the biggest thing to look for is honestly the recirc valve or a blow off valve a the bottom of the intercooler. Often times people and tuners go for the blow off valve because it sounds good but in reality the Subaru air fuel system takes the critical measurements prior to the recirc/blowoff and ends up blowing the motor. If the Subaru has a blow off valve, walk away

You’re wrong. STi‘s are weaker engines then WRX engines and you can make more power with the WRX! Also, the STi costs you about double the insurance payment that a WRX does! The WRX is better and can be turned into an STi with a quarter of the money that you saved by buying a WRX instead of STi!

ik this was 10 months ago, but the one I'm looking at has 215,000 miles on the odometer. For school and back, 110,000 miles would do you just fine. Definitely make sure the oil doesn't have any metal in it, and check for white smoke while idiling/leaks in general. Some of them keep mileage very well.

02-14 wrxs have a weak 5 speed trans vs the sti that has a very strong 6 speed, sti has the ability to control where the power goes, more power to the front vs rear and vis versa. 06-14 wrx 2.5L engines are 85% similar to the Sti though.

I'm lookin to buy one in the country I'm from, and the 2 things i'm attracted to with the car, and have been attracted to or years, is A: The Subaru Bubrle. The Unequal Length Exhaust headers, and 2 nice acceleration. Can i ask you honestly what am i missing out on when i buy a 2002 bugeye WRX completely stock, over the STi version. Will i still actually have that beautiful ground rumbling sound from the engine and exhaust, like the EXACT same? or is it a bit more tame with the WRX? (I'll be picking up a EJ20 version as they never made the 25 here in my country). So basically, will i get the REAL early 2000's Impreza experience with the WRX version or do i NEED the STi. Thank you so much, loved your video.

These cars has the worst clear coats. And I mean not as in terrible job, it looks great, but it's so thin, any little rock chips the fuk out of them. Also why the sun fade. I had an 06 tr Hawkeye, and loved it. But ended up trading in cause yea, it's a TR and faded hood and scoop with all the plethora of issues with throw out bearing and transmission noises getting louder and louder. Now got an 16 WRX premium, and still, throw out bearing noises when it's wet and cold out. Paint still chips easily. Those are my two biggest gripes about Subaru WRX. Other than that, they are great little cars!

I found a 06 tr guy said he would take 6200 for it. It has 144k miles and the water pump and timing was just done. Car is basically bone stock besides a bov and downpipe and only issues is cheap cosmetics such as fuel door and fender. Thoughts? Thanks
