Just as an Addition: This song was one of the singles from their Album "Reise Reise" back in 2005. Its meant to show how the success and all of that made them fat, passionless, emotionally disconnected and that they actually don`t want to bring out new songs or an album at all in a sarcastic way which is demonstrated and also contrasted by their passion and movement while performing of the song vs before and after it. I love this song! It's a reminder that Rammstein having so much doesn't fall in self indulgency and routine as well as a criticism of artists that sold their Art for cash. "Lust" in German isn't desire only related to sex but to everything. So saying you "Ich habe keine lust = I don't feel any desire", can mean you have no desire to do anything: working out, talking, singing, making friends, thinking, loving. You want nothing at all; like you were sucked off the will to live. As Till sings "Mir ist kalt = I'm cold".

Rammstein has always some kind of ironic about themselves. They never hesitate to touch hot or problematic themes though.

I remember over 12 years ago this music video being my introduction to Rammstein. I was so confused and amused by it, and the song still kicks ass. Great reaction video, you two really got into it, especially near the end!
Most of the Rammstein songs are parodies, mockeries or a bit tongue-in-cheek critical songs. This is about apathy/depression. Most of the text of this song would not be considered appropriate for tv. :P I love the theatrics of this song and the drop mic at the end!

The making of video for this video was absolutely awesome. It showed the transformation of most of the band members via fat suits, and even some deleted scenes.
This is part of a "trilogy", You have Keine Lust, then Ohne Dich, then end it with Haifish.... if you've seen this and Ohne Dich, then Haifish becomes hillarious.
"Haifisch" also refers to "Du Hast", "Sonne" and "Amerika". Don't count them out ;)

Rammstein said that the meaning behind the song is that after they have accomplished everything they ever wanted, they got fat and ugly so now they have no desire in doing anything . They gathered to play one last time together like in the good ol' days.

The song is about self-hatred, obesity, medication, etc. no longer wanting for example. Having sex no matter how sexy and attractive a woman is. Music serves to process this "problem", which is also represented by the fact that the keyboard player can suddenly run again, but nobody cares, because that's actually what counts to get healthy again! The video shows rich people who has everything but as a side effect everything has lost its meaning and doesn't make them feel anything anymore, I guess except rocking out together in secret. :)
The verses and the chorus are about everything he has no desire to do anymore ('Ich habt keine lust' roughly means 'I have no desire'...) and in the slow part he sings about how cold he has become inside (So kallt, mir ist kallt = So cold, I am cold).

German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer used a pendulum to explain our game of desires and dissatisfactions. For him, life ripples between two moments (therefore, pendulum): the suffering of desire and boredom. The first moment is where you want something you don't have and therefore you suffer. The second is where you have what you once wished for, but now it is not so funny anymore and you are bored and disillusioned until you find hope in something else that you do not have.
Keine Lust was written at a time when Rammstein had already achieved great success. After the Mutter album, the band spent years resting and enjoying everything. When they returned, they decided to make the video for Keine Lust. Everyone but Flake is dressed to look fat. They themselves said that it was to symbolize the abundance of everything. And at some point, they realized that it did not make them happy, that they were disinterested ("I have no desire!/I don't feel like it"). On Schopenhauer's pendulum, Keine Lust is the moment of boredom. They had everything, but they had no desire. When Till says "I don't want the snow to go", for example, he is referring to the fear of the end of the cocaine effect. Because "I have no desire to freeze/Don't feel like freezing". If Keine Lust is boredom on the pendulum, we can see the suffering of desire, for example, in Mehr (music in which the lyrical self wants more and more money, but is NEVER satisfied).
