I have Bird and MJ sitting on top with Bird just surpassing MJ for the throne. Just my opinion. Pat Riley said it best. "If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game I'd choose Michael Jordan," Riley said. "If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life... I'd take Larry Bird."

I hated Larry Bird, but even I have to give him the nod. I'm a Laker fan, and when it comes to someone who you don't want in the game, it's Larry Bird. I would laugh when Jordan would come in the game with his athlesism, but when Bird would come in the game, there was FEAR, because there was time on the clock. I think that he would deliberately make the game close so he can crush your heart like it was written in some kind of crazy fucked up script. For me to HATE him meant he was that good.

The difference between the Lakers and the Celtics was that the Lakers were a fast break team, and the Celtics were a half court team. @@gailshepard-cook6350 Like many of the video narrators on UA-cam who don't pronounce names correctly, here is an example of a "correction editor" who didn't do his homework and failed as well. Thanks for stating the correct pick position the Legend was chosen. Kudos to you.
The ultimate problem with Lebron for me is simple. He had to leave Cleveland and make a super team to win. MJ had to put puzzle pieces together to win…..Magic came to a stacked team……Only Larry came to a shitty team as the ONLY addition. He turned that team around to conference finalists as a rookie and champs as a sophomore…. Wasn’t till later that the rest of the best team ever Celtics showed up. Name another player in the GOAT conversation that can say that….then add all his other attributes….GOAT. I would pick him build any team around for any era
That's idiotic. Players aren't gm's. Jordan had hall of fame owner and hall of fame GM. He still couldn't win until they got him a hall of fame coach and hall of fame teammate. Bird has Red as the owner and GM plus HOF coaching. Magic had HOF owner, GM, and coach. Duncan had hof owner coach and GM. If you are a great player on a bad team with incompetent leadership you'll never win (Barkley & Ewing). Barkley said he wished he left Philly sooner. KG said he wished he left Minnesota earlier. LeBron was smart enough to realize if he never left Cleveland he'd be a great player with no rings. Plus free agency was totally different in the 80s and early 90s.
Well Lets Just Say, He Could Pass Like A Guard, Has Played Forward, A Little Center But Was Better At Small Forward Because He Was Better At Roaming Around To Help Make Other's Have Plays. And Yes The Highest BB IQ Then & To This Day. So He Was The Best All Around Player & Still To This Day.
What they don't tell you about Larry Bird in the 2nd time he faced Magic and the Fakes is that Larry Bird was playing with a Broken Hand and that effected his shooting. Broke his right hand in a Bar Fight in the middle of the Philly Series and was only shooting 29% from the 3 point line.
The craziest part is that if Larry Bird had made that game-winning shot against the Lakers in Los angeles, the Boston Celtics would have pretty much been guaranteed at least mathematically to win the championship. The remaining games had Boston with home field advantage for 2 out of the last 3 I believe it was, where the Boston Celtics had only lost once That season. They would have won the next game in boston, went back to LA and even if they lost their going back to Boston for the final game where they had something like a 98% win record That season and would have won the championship. That one shot basically could have guaranteed the Boston Celtics the championship that year.
I’m one of the people who have Larry Legend as the GOAT. I just think he did more with his work ethic and smarts than any other player did with their athleticism. No matter how many times I watch his highlights, he is endlessly impressive.
In the 80s my little brother used to pretend he was Larry Bird shooting hoops in his room on his Nerf hoop while announcing the entire game 😅 My room was next door, I thought he was nuts. He worshipped Bird in a NY Knick household Watching these reaction videos years later I get it Thank you Coach I wish I could have seen Larry play live He played from his heart. Stats didn't drive him nor fame. He'd actually run from it Magic tells a funny story about him when Letterman interviewed Bird & Magic. Actually would be a great video to react to Larry Bird after watching hours and hours and hours of footage is my GOAT Thank you again for showcasing Bird.
I would have loved to see some of these greats play live. I watched old highlights and games but I’m sure it’s not the same. I appreciate you watching. I’m definitely going to keep highlighting the greats from the past
Who else on the GOAT conversation list has on their resume that they beat an opponent so bad the guy thought about killing themselves? I have heard that interview and it was pretty telling. it's both hilarious and sad that he went to that dark of a place in his head.. The guy literally was walking down Court thinking to himself (to paraphrase) "I'm not even close to as good as I thought I was... oh my god, I am a fraud, I have been lying to myself, what was I thinking? I don't belong here, I don't belong in the same league as this guy... maybe I should have been a bricklayer" . He felt like a little kid that couldn't do anything playing against a full-grown adult that was just humiliating them. Later in the game the coach was going to make a couple substitutions and probably put him back in. As soon as he realized it he looked down and looked away and would not make eye contact with the coach praying to God the coach wasn't going to put him back in there.
Nice reaction and admittedly I am here for Larry. I have an Indiana bias for sure. You can't appreciate the true courage and toughness of Larry unless you understand the crippling injuries he played through. I will leave some links below. Keep in mind probably anyone you have over Larry on your list is not in the 50-40-90 club. Larry did this 2 seasons in a row and very very close the following two years. In fact so close if you average those seasons together he averaged 50-40-90 for four years. “5 Times Larry Bird was Injured but REFUSED to Quit” ua-cam.com/video/QRHZToVAEFA/v-deo.html “4 Crazy stories that prove Larry Bird is the toughest player in NBA history!” ua-cam.com/video/L4vsB2Hskv4/v-deo.html
I always say to people who ask if Larry is the Goat. I tell them every decade has its Goat since the game changed in style. Larry is a Goat but more important he is a LEGEND! The way he played could work in many eras. I got to see him play in the 80"s and his play was magical. Those were the good old days.
That is the exact reason I take Bird in a hypothetical draft over Lebron at SF, You can call their career averages a wash 25 pts 10 boards and 7 assists. When it comes to the intangibles like clutch and leadership and also knowing Larry is going to make that play you simply cannot pick Lebron over Larry. After all isn't that all what it comes down to in the end? winning?
If I had number one draft pick of all players, all time. . I'm taking Larry. Epitome of greatest floor raiser, ever. If his career hadn't been cut short the Only goat debate would be MJ vs Bird.
I grew up watching LB he's on my mount Rushmore for sure, but people forget about wilt he holds 93 records to this day. shout out to the human highlight film, DW
4:40 when he says the finals mvp was stolen from bird in 81, here's larry bird and cedric maxwell's stat lines for that finals Bird : 15 pts, 15 trb, 7ast, 1.6 stl, 0.8 blk Maxwell : 17.8 pts, 9.4 trb, 2.8 ast, 0.7 stl, 0.7 blk Now you tell me who shouldve got that mvp crown
making to the finals more doesn't matter when you have a losing record and were blown out in some of those finals with other all stars around you in a weaker conference or a shortened season. Being 6-0 in the finals and being the best overall player for both teams on offense and arguably defense is more impressive
Not sure if you have watches already , but you should watch courtship of rivals magic johnson and larry bird. That would definitely change your perspective
He was picked as a Junior and the Celtics had to wait a year as Larry hadj promised his mom he would graduate. If he was taken after his senior season where he led basically a Junior college to 33-0 and all the way to the finals of the tournament against Mich8gan State. This was big news and I and everyone else in America was very interested in Larry Bird. Unheard of for someone to carry a team like that. Suddenly the Celtics using their 6th pick and waiting looked very good. Red Aurbach saw that Larry was a FRANCHISE PLAYA!!!
It kinda does matter...the Western Conference was a cakewalk for the Lakers...there was (almost) no competition. Bird was a better overall player than Magic..and almopst nobody in the NBA would disagree.
His MVP's were 3 years in a row. Only 2 others have done that. Wilt and Russ. He should have been the final MVP for 81-82. Larry didn't really care about individual accomplishments. They went to 5 finals and lost 2.
Everyone misses the point, It doesn't matter if you have Larry 1st 2nd 3rd or 5th on the goat list...Despite having a bad back, shortened career, no hops or speed...He is still right there. He still is arguably the best all-around basketball player. You have athletic FREAKS like Lebron, Wilt, and MJ. Kobe was all defense 12 times and was a complete gym rat obsessed with the game. Could you imagine if Larry had Lebron's body??? despite all of Bird's Physical shortcomings, he is still in the conversation...That to me is the reason why is my goat. He had tons of reasons why he shouldn't have been but despite all of that he did it in spades. Larry Legend truly is the best all-around basket player why? because he had to be
I feel you but bird didn’t have those things. What if all of those players could shoot like bird? Like we have to judge these players by what we see. Bird is personally one of my favorites ever! So I agree he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He literally made and saved the league
The best channel for BB reviews, from someone that does it for a living. Great videos. Subbed! Show me a Bennard King reaction. I am unfamiliar with him.
I think it goes like this: 6th GOAT) Magic Johnson 5th GOAT) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (I wish he would have stayed with his original name of Lew Alcindor) 4th GOAT) LeBron James 3rd GOAT Kobe Bryant 2nd GOAT) Larry Bird GOAT) Michael Jordan After the 6th GOAT, it changes pretty much for everybody. Some fans may disagree, however, these 6 are usually the same or in different order. There could be Shaq, O. Robertson, Wilt, B. Russell, Dr. J, Pete Maravich, Hakeem, Steph, KD, Barkley, Jokic, and whole bunch more....
Look at what Larry had as team mates..mccale rode the bench his first year, Walton was a broken down former star, the chief,Danny Ange,dj.. Would any of these guys be superstars on the bulls,pistons,lakers..no they would be role players. Larry elevated the rest of his team
Listen Up The Only Reason That Magic Has 10-Games More Then Larry, Was Because In 1988-89 Larry Only Played 6-Games At The Beginning Of That Season. He Had To Get Surgery On Both Feet For Bone Spurs & They Had To Cut Both Of His Achilles To Get To Them. So He Was Out The Rest Of That Season. Do You Really Think He Would Not Won More Then 10-Games Had He Not Been Out! If Players/Star's Are So Much Better Now Then The 80's & 90's Players. What Is Taking Them So Long For 1-To Be Able To Get 3-MVPs Three Years In A Row? Larry Is Still The Last One To Have Done That. It's Only Going On 39-Years Now. Also Larry Was Drafted In 1978 & He Was The 6th Pick. But He Refused To Go To The NBA Because He Wanted To Finish His Last Year Of College. He Promised His Mom He Would Finish And Larry Does Stick By His Word. So The Celtics Waited. But Larry Got An Agent Right Before Signing Time In 1979. And He Became The Highest Paid Rookie At That Time. In Fact The Rules Got Changed Right After That. If A Collage Player Went Into The Draft They Had To Quit Collage And Go To Who Ever Drafted Them. Magic Got Drafted In 1979, And He Did Not Finish College. So That's How They Both Came In The Same Year, 1979-80.
Man great video! Larry just makes my top 5. 1.MJ 2. Magic 3. Bird 4. West and 5. Olajuwon. Kobe, Shaq, LeBron, Tim Ducan, and Kareem are my next 5 in no order.
As for the Eastern Conference being the better Conference.... Boston Celtics - Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parrish, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge New York Knicks - Bernard King, Patrick Ewing Indiana Pacers - Chuck Person, Reggie Miller Chicago Bulls - Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen Detroit Pistons - Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Dennis Rodman, Bill Laimbeer Atlanta Hawks - Dominique Wilkins, Kevin Willis, Spud Webb, Doc Rivers Philadelphia 76ers - Dr.J, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, Maurice Cheeks New Jersey Nets - ??? Cleveland Cavs - Mark Price, Brad Daugherty Milwaukee Bucks - Sydney Moncrief, Miami Heat - Glenn Rice, Rony Seikley Orlando Magic - Dennis Scott Washington Bullets - Jeff Malone, Moses Malone, Bernard King Western Conference LA Lakers - Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, James Worthy, Byron Scott, Michael Cooper, Kurt Rambis, AC Green, Houston Rockets - Hakeem Olajawon, Ralph Sampson, Vernon Maxwell Portland Trailblazers - Clyde Drexler, Jerome Kersey San Antonio Spurs - David Robinson, George Gervin Seattle Supersonics - Xavier McDaniel, Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton Utah Jazz - Karl Malone, John Stockton Golden State Warriors - Tim Hardaway, Sr., Chris Mullin Sacramento Kings - Mitch Richmond, Lionel Simmons, Wayman Tisdale Phoenix Suns - ???? There would be a guy or two now and then who would impress for a little bit and then fade away.
If you take just his accomplishments listed here (4:30), then i would say no, that is not objectively enough to be considered the goat. Top 10 for sure, but not quite goat status. However if you add to that everything else, and what he actually was like on the court, his trash talking stories from countless players, intangibles, etc, and properly weigh the numbers for a 13 year career, then yes, he is very much in the conversation some of the things not listed on there : 4th in MVP voting as a rookie 8 consecutive top 3 finishes in MVP voting : 81 - 2nd, 82 - 2nd, 83 - 2nd, 84 - 1st, 85 - 1st, 86 - 1st, 87 - 2nd, 88 - 3rd first person to ever shoot a 50-40-90 season only player ever to average 50-40-90 over a stretch of 4 consecutive seasons (1985 to 1988)
He wasn't about personal stats...at all, it was the W column for the Team. Stats do not represent the talent or\\\or any skill, certain stats stats convey the mentality and play style sorta.
Eastern Conference was so much tougher than the West. Majic had better teammates than Bird. Watching all these games in my 20's I loved Larry Bird and the Celtics.
I will disagree with Clayton Crowley on one thing. It isn't just 8 guys who should be in the conversation as the GOAT. It should be 15. 1. Larry Bird 2. Magic Johnson 3. Kareem Abdul Jabbar 4. Michael Jordan 5. Kobe Bryant 6. Tim Duncan 7. Steph Curry 8. Wilt Chamberlain 9. Bill Russell 10. Jerry West 11. Shaquille O'Neal 12. Julius Erving 13. Hakeem Olajawon 14. Nikola Jokic 15. LeBron James This isn't my order, only a list of the 15 who I see as the ones who have a claim as the GOAT. If you want my order.... 1A. Larry Bird 1B. Michael Jordan 2. Kareem Abdul Jabbar 3. Magic Johnson 4. Steph Curry 5. Tim Duncan 6. Wilt Chamberlain 7. Julius Erving 8. Kobe Bryant 9. Bill Russell 10. Shaquille O'Neal 11. Hakeem Olajawon 12. Jerry West 13. Nikola Jokic 14. LeBron James If you want to expand it to top 25...it goes to 15. Oscar Robertson 16. Bob Cousy 17. Giannis 18. Isiah Thomas 19. Kevin Durant 20. Kevin McHale 21. Scottie Pippen 22. John Stockton 23. Charles Barkley 24. Dwayne Wade This is only if LeBron is clean and not guilty of being on that Balco juice, Biogenesis sauce. If LeBron is guilty of it or he goes down with the Diddler, he drops out of the top 1,000 for me.
I do not think it is possible to pick 1 player as the goat due to different teammates, opposition, era's and even the court has changed! However if you want my opinion I would have to pick Jordan as 1 and Kareem as 2, unless we include high school and college = then Kareem is #1. Bird was drafted in 78 and Magic was drafted in 79. Everyone needs to see the video "greatest passer ever with re-edit" to see Bird's passing genius. Bird as a forward vs all other forwards in his era = PF and SF = Bird was #1 in assists per game for 8 seasons and was #2 in assists per game for 3 seasons and was once 4th. Bird only played 12 seasons! Bird actually dominated his position in assists per game more so than Magic = Magic led the league in assists per game for 4 seasons and was #2 in assists for 6 seasons and was also 4th and 7th. Bird is absolutely in this discussion. Bird went to a 29 win team and with 1 player change to the roster in ML Carr and a new coach in Bill Fitch, Bird was the main reason Boston won 61 games = a 32 game turnaround. Bird went to Indiana State = a school with ZERO basketball history and led the team to an unbelievable 33-0 season upsetting many teams before losing to a better MSU team. Bird was the first player to ever post a 50-40-90 season = did it 2 years back to back ( 87 and 88) and was so close in 85 and 86 that if you total Bird's stats for those 4 years = Bird averaged 50-40-90 shooting over 4 consecutive seasons!! No other goat candidate can say that!! Bird also played in the much tougher Eastern conference. ( See Dave Heeren's Basketball Abstract) all teams included = the East dominated the west for every year for all 10 years of the 80's!!!
No no he was picked 6th overall and the Celtics knew he was going back to finish college and wouldn't get him till after that. Klay Thompsons dad and sugar Ray Richardson were among those picked ahead of bird but they all went right to work not wait a year.
One piece of advice I give to all reactors is please invest in UA-cam premium to not have ad interruptions. It's a small price to pay for improved content quality. But other than that I'm enjoying your commentary. I think going through all the making the case videos is a great idea. It gives you a lot of insight into making your own goat list. I say those in the convo (in no order) are Russell, Chamberlain, Bird, Magic, Jordan, and LeBron. I know he has Duncan in the list but I don't think he's in the GOAT list. Top tier all time HOF player, but not greatest of all time. I'd put in Big George Mikan over him. First superstar, leader of the first dynasty, 5 rings, and established the Lakers standard. We still do Mikan drills to this day.
Ofc magic had better teammates. As he says, no disrespect to Parrish and Mchale, but Kareem is my #3 of all time, James Worthy is most likely in my top 25, and add to that Michael Cooper and Scott Byron and you got one of the most airtight defenses of all time. Don't get me wrong, Bird's teammates were no slouches. Dennis Johnson is a fringe top 25 of all time, Kevin Mchale is easily top 50 (around 45 id guess), and Robert Parrish most likely breaks into the top 75. And while idk if Danny Ainge makes top 75, he was so good from the arc that he shortly overtook Bird as the best 3 point shooter in raw stats - makes, attempts and percentages - before Reggie Miller showed up.
I don't think the Goat conversation can be resolved. How do you compare Bird with the likes of Jordan and LeBron who were so dominant physically? Bird had the highest basketball IQ of any player but was less of an athlete than several other contenders. I think it is enough to acknowledge several of the greatest players and appreciate what each of them brought to the game.
As an old white dude..everyone knows mj is the goat.2 wilt 3.kareem.4 bill russel,5 magic,6.larry...7? Etc Now I'd entertain kobi,Tim duncan, hell even shaq or karl malone... But fuck lebron..leflopper is at least 20th on my list
I'm not into the goat debate. It changes with every era along with changes in everything from rules, shoes, training, facilities and medicine to salaries, diet, travel and the evolution of players' skills and coaching strategy. I appreciate the players of the last 30 years or so who many consider to be the goat but there's no doubt they stand on the shoulders of the giants who came before them. I'm 70 and got to see some of those players live, including Bird, so they're not just legends to me. When I was a kid the question was Russell vs Wilt and since there's no debate if it's about championships it always turned into an argument about sklll or best all around player and then someone was sure to bring up Oscar Robertson. In the 80's it was Magic vs Bird but that was just as pointless. You can pick a goat like you can choose a favorite color but personally I like too many players and colors to pick just one so I'll go with the notion that there's rainbow coalition of goats. Maybe that's a cop out but I think it's an unanswerable question to begin with. I will say that basketball reached its peak when the Celtics played the Lakers for the championship in the 80's. I grew up around Boston so naturally I rooted for the Celtics but if you loved the game you realized it didn't matter who won because basketball didn't get any better than this and imo it's still the gold standard. Definitely check out Bernard King, one of my all time favorite players. When he was with the Warriors I was living in Oakland and went to many games. Back then press photographers sat under the baskets but nobody wore a press pass and security didn't monitor who sat there so I'd buy a cheap ticket, bring a camera and sit up close. The real photographers knew I wasn't legit but I didn't get in their way and they just smiled at my hoax. Always tried to get a shot of Bernard steamrolling to the basket on a fast break but never managed to be quick enough with my manual camera.
Imagine with current footwear and medical treatments! Also dammit Larry hire somebody to help your mom on her land! Quit the volleyball, softball and bar fights! Just kidding. You rule. ❤ Isaiah would not be in the room Celtics versus Sixers was huge. Way bigger than Celtics versus Lakers at the time lol
Top 5 Mike Wilt Kareem Bird Russell. Kareem was still the best player in the league when Magic and Larry came in the league. He was MVP of the NBA. He was the best player on the team 3 of Magics 5.
Great reaction.. I gotta go by position.. Magic at the point( 6'9..stop it) MJ at scoring guard(goat 1a) Forwards: LeBron Larry (goat 1b) Kareem in the paint.. No other 5 can beat my 5...lol
Wilt in the paint. Kareem won his first ring second year in the league. He lost in the conference finals to Wilt. Wilt blocked Kareems shot 17 times in the series. If not for Wilt he would have won a ring his rookie year.
@@AlfredoRamos-ko3tx If you play Larry or LeBron at power forward, who would guard McHale, Malone, Duncan , Ralph Sampson, to name a few power forwards.

magic and bird were not in the same draft class bird was picked in his junior year were as magic wasn't looked at until his senior year so while they came into the in the same year bird was drafted a year before magic
I appreciate the advice. I have to stop it a lot honestly. That’s just how reactions go. Plus that would be fair to the creator of I just watch it and not say anything lol. As far as the breathing goes thank you! I’ll definitely try to do better next video!
My top 3 are Jordan, Kobe, and Bird. But I believe if Larry never broke his back, he'd be at the top of that list. Most complete player I've ever seen
Good point..

Really ? … dickjohn
@@johndickinson1605
…. really dude ?
I'll put it this way: I don't personally think Bird is the GOAT (top 3 tho), but I'm not gonna argue with somebody who says he is
The ultimate problem with Lebron for me is simple.
Tim Duncan or Kareem
The night Bird retired it was an off night at the garden and it was a sold out night.
❤😂🎉Larry Legend 🎉😂❤
The real legend
He's a 6'10 Forward with guard skills and super high IQ, basically Jokic that dribbles face up
Well Lets Just Say, He Could Pass Like A Guard, Has Played Forward, A Little Center But Was Better At Small Forward Because He Was Better At Roaming Around To Help Make Other's Have Plays.
I understand where you’re coming from and I’m not mad at it honestly. Larry saved the league
bird was drafted a year early but chose to stay in college and play his senior year
In the 80s my little brother used to pretend he was Larry Bird shooting hoops in his room on his Nerf hoop while announcing the entire game 😅
My room was next door, I thought he was nuts. He worshipped Bird in a NY Knick household
Watching these reaction videos years later I get it
Thank you Coach
I wish I could have seen Larry play live
He played from his heart. Stats didn't drive him nor fame. He'd actually run from it
Magic tells a funny story about him when Letterman interviewed Bird & Magic.
Actually would be a great video to react to
Larry Bird after watching hours and hours and hours of footage is my GOAT
Thank you again for showcasing Bird.
I would have loved to see some of these greats play live. I watched old highlights and games but I’m sure it’s not the same. I appreciate you watching. I’m definitely going to keep highlighting the greats from the past
Magic was not drafted before bird. Bird was drafted in his junior year and Magic was drafted in his senior year the following year
Why he say that
Coach , can I recommend
Must watch Bird videos ..
“ I am legend “
“ Bird is the word “
“ When Bird almost
made a player commit
Suicide “
The "Larry Bord Museum" openned in Terre Haute Indiana this year.❤❤
WHAT!?!? For real!? I’m like an hour away from
Nice reaction and admittedly I am here for Larry.

Those are good ones.
I always say to people who ask if Larry is the Goat. I tell them every decade has its Goat since the game changed in style. Larry is a Goat but more important he is a LEGEND! The way he played could work in many eras. I got to see him play in the 80"s and his play was magical. Those were the good old days.
That’s amazing man and I agree
I got Bird at 4 because he’s so clutch. That’s the one thing he’s got over everyone.
Isiah was in that " conversation" because he knew larry from way back..hell larrys mom would right isiah letters of encouragement
4:40 when he says the finals mvp was stolen from bird in 81, here's larry bird and cedric maxwell's stat lines for that finals
Bird : 15 pts, 15 trb, 7ast, 1.6 stl, 0.8 blk
Maxwell : 17.8 pts, 9.4 trb, 2.8 ast, 0.7 stl, 0.7 blk
Now you tell me who shouldve got that mvp crown
The original and one court player street ball from the country
making to the finals more doesn't matter when you have a losing record and were blown out in some of those finals with other all stars around you in a weaker conference or a shortened season.
Crazy man. Larry Legend was really that guy. Probably the best all around basketball player ever
It kinda does matter...the Western Conference was a cakewalk for the Lakers...there was (almost) no competition. Bird was a better overall player than Magic..and almopst nobody in the NBA would disagree.
Go back and look at his opponents and notice how many are in each conference. Eastern Conference was definitely the more competitive.
💯
His MVP's were 3 years in a row. Only 2 others have done that. Wilt and Russ. He should have been the final MVP for 81-82. Larry didn't really care about individual accomplishments. They went to 5 finals and lost 2.
That says it all right there lol
I was watching ball at his last year. Didnt understand why he was great. Videos like this opened my eyes
Not sure if Larry is the greatest ever but he is without a doubt the greatest small forward ever.
What about lebron
Much love! I really appreciate you watching and I should be finished with his video in the next few days
I think it goes like this:
6th GOAT) Magic Johnson
5th GOAT) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (I wish he would have stayed with his original name of Lew Alcindor)
4th GOAT) LeBron James
3rd GOAT Kobe Bryant
2nd GOAT) Larry Bird
GOAT) Michael Jordan
After the 6th GOAT, it changes pretty much for everybody. Some fans may disagree, however, these 6 are usually the same or in different order. There could be Shaq, O. Robertson, Wilt, B. Russell, Dr. J, Pete Maravich, Hakeem, Steph, KD, Barkley, Jokic, and whole bunch more....
Jordan is the greatest of all time, But Bird is the best "ALL ROUND PLAYER OF ALL TIME". Dominant on both ends of the court with no holes in his game.
Larry also got rookie of the year
Look at what Larry had as team mates..mccale rode the bench his first year, Walton was a broken down former star, the chief,Danny Ange,dj..
Larry didn't lie. Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark a monster
i liked coach but you seriously need to do Duncan next! haha
Man great video! Larry just makes my top 5. 1.MJ 2. Magic 3. Bird 4. West and 5. Olajuwon. Kobe, Shaq, LeBron, Tim Ducan, and Kareem are my next 5 in no order.

Bird was picked 6th in 1978 draft
Who was picked over him though?
What a great reaction!
If you take just his accomplishments listed here (4:30), then i would say no, that is not objectively enough to be considered the goat. Top 10 for sure, but not quite goat status.
However if you add to that everything else, and what he actually was like on the court, his trash talking stories from countless players, intangibles, etc, and properly weigh the numbers for a 13 year career, then yes, he is very much in the conversation
some of the things not listed on there :
4th in MVP voting as a rookie
8 consecutive top 3 finishes in MVP voting : 81 - 2nd, 82 - 2nd, 83 - 2nd, 84 - 1st, 85 - 1st, 86 - 1st, 87 - 2nd, 88 - 3rd
first person to ever shoot a 50-40-90 season
only player ever to average 50-40-90 over a stretch of 4 consecutive seasons (1985 to 1988)
He wasn't about personal stats...at all, it was the W column for the Team. Stats do not represent the talent or\\\or any skill, certain stats stats convey the mentality and play style sorta.
Eastern Conference was so much tougher than the West. Majic had better teammates than Bird. Watching all these games in my 20's I loved Larry Bird and the Celtics.
Very true the East was loaded back then
I will disagree with Clayton Crowley on one thing. It isn't just 8 guys who should be in the conversation as the GOAT.
It should be 15.
1. Larry Bird
2. Magic Johnson
3. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
4. Michael Jordan
5. Kobe Bryant
6. Tim Duncan
7. Steph Curry
8. Wilt Chamberlain
9. Bill Russell
10. Jerry West
11. Shaquille O'Neal
12. Julius Erving
13. Hakeem Olajawon
14. Nikola Jokic
15. LeBron James
This isn't my order, only a list of the 15 who I see as the ones who have a claim as the GOAT.
If you want my order....
1A. Larry Bird
1B. Michael Jordan
2. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
3. Magic Johnson
4. Steph Curry
5. Tim Duncan
6. Wilt Chamberlain
7. Julius Erving
8. Kobe Bryant
9. Bill Russell
10. Shaquille O'Neal
11. Hakeem Olajawon
12. Jerry West
13. Nikola Jokic
14. LeBron James
If you want to expand it to top 25...it goes to
15. Oscar Robertson
16. Bob Cousy
17. Giannis
18. Isiah Thomas
19. Kevin Durant
20. Kevin McHale
21. Scottie Pippen
22. John Stockton
23. Charles Barkley
24. Dwayne Wade
This is only if LeBron is clean and not guilty of being on that Balco juice, Biogenesis sauce. If LeBron is guilty of it or he goes down with the Diddler, he drops out of the top 1,000 for me.

… you put some thought
into this
I do not think it is possible to pick 1 player as the goat due to different teammates, opposition, era's and even the court has changed!
You have to see his passing videos.
Larry the Legend to me he is
No no he was picked 6th overall and the Celtics knew he was going back to finish college and wouldn't get him till after that. Klay Thompsons dad and sugar Ray Richardson were among those picked ahead of bird but they all went right to work not wait a year.
Ah I got you! Thank you for clearing that up for me
One piece of advice I give to all reactors is please invest in UA-cam premium to not have ad interruptions.
Etc
Now I'd entertain kobi,Tim duncan, hell even shaq or karl malone...
But fuck lebron..leflopper is at least 20th on my list
Well, the NBA is going to need SOMETHING. Silver is running this company into the toilet. Have you been paying attention to the numbers?
Magic had james worthy..the number 1 pick..had another goat in kareem, had super defender Michael cooper...it was a great team
Please react to Jason Williams. Greatest Passer in history.
Man I want to!
Bernard king was a bad man! he did everything on the court except pass but he made up for it by being the most intimidating player ever!
I did you shit lol.
All good
What lol
You should watch this dudes bill Russell goat vid
Making the case on bill Russel?
Imagine with current footwear and medical treatments! Also dammit Larry hire somebody to help your mom on her land! Quit the volleyball, softball and bar fights!
Just kidding. You rule. ❤
Isaiah would not be in the room
Celtics versus Sixers was huge. Way bigger than Celtics versus Lakers at the time lol
so you seen this before?
Yes I’ve seen a few of these but not all of them. As far as this one goes I haven’t watched all of it but I’ve seen a little bit of it
Top 5 Mike Wilt Kareem Bird Russell. Kareem was still the best player in the league when Magic and Larry came in the league. He was MVP of the NBA. He was the best player on the team 3 of Magics 5.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s I got Jordan number one Larry Bird number 2 then I have Kobe 3 Kareem 4 then I got to go with Dr j number 5
Great reaction..
I gotta go by position..
Magic at the point( 6'9..stop it)
MJ at scoring guard(goat 1a)
Forwards: LeBron
Larry (goat 1b)
Kareem in the paint..
No other 5 can beat my 5...lol
Forwards. Larry and Duncan. LeBron maybe top 10
Wilt in the paint. Kareem won his first ring second year in the league. He lost in the conference finals to Wilt. Wilt blocked Kareems shot 17 times in the series. If not for Wilt he would have won a ring his rookie year.
Lebron? Okay that's your opinion 😂😂😂

Really? You had to go there?
You should watch Pistol Pete Maravich highlights. He was offered to be a Harlem Globetrotter but turned it down. He could have been the first white globetrotter. That’s how good he was
I don't subscribe to the GOAT. But I do subscribe to the GOTE; Greatest of Their Era.
And for the era Larry Bird was in the GOTE, in my opinion, was Magic Johnson
Too bad he has finals losses
jordan never won a series against bird! why you ask? cause larry had more help than jordan, larry is with dirk my 2 favorite players. but jordan is the goat. i still would want to play with bird and have bird as a teammate than jordan! same with bird vs johnson! much love from germany
You HEARD Magic and Larry SAVED the NBA.....You didn't tell us a thing! It has been known for over 30 years!! And NOT PAYING for Ad blocker on youtube which is CHEAP, then apologizing? IGNORANT. You're not sorry you are cheap and makes your channel look like an AMATEUR
I know they did from research and from being a student and fam of the game. Also I am an AMATEUR at this UA-cam thing for sure! 100% an amateur and new at this! Not necessarily cheap but I could be broke. I could be struggling. You never know. If I am ignorant to this definitely teach me! I’m here for it. magic and bird were not in the same draft class bird was picked in his junior year were as magic wasn't looked at until his senior year so while they came into the in the same year bird was drafted a year before magic
That was I thought!? Why did he say that? I’m confused
2 advices...you stopped the video wayy too many times and 2 keep the microphone away from your mouth we can hear your breathing and coughs
Stopping the video is how reaction videos work. You want to watch it straight through then watch the OG video.
I appreciate the advice. I have to stop it a lot honestly. That’s just how reactions go. Plus that would be fair to the creator of I just watch it and not say anything lol. As far as the breathing goes thank you! I’ll definitely try to do better next video!
