Rúaidhrí O'Connor interviews UCD RFC’s Vinny and John Hammond

Described as the heart and soul of the club, John Hammond talks through his journey into UCD Rugby and the special role he served to previous presidents, players, visiting teams and the management of the unique ground that is Belfield Bowl. He talks fondly of two of his proudest achievements: helping establish Tag Rugby and the annual Daffodil Day, where members, players and sponsors had the opportunity to get involved and raise funds for Irish Cancer Society.
Vinny talks about his upcoming second tour with the British & Irish Lions and his journey to becoming Head of Analytics and Innovation at Irish Rugby Football Union and role data analysis has in the modern game. He talks about the foundations UCD RFC provided him - both as a player and a successful coach of the U20s team - and how it is ultimately down to the people you surround yourself with and the lifelong friendships you forge.
