- This Supercut compares Alex Cox's "Repo Man" to Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction," and "Jackie Brown," his first three films which all were set in a fictional Los Angeles... a Los Angeles that shares much in common in style and spirit with that envisioned by Alex Cox.

I looked this up hoping someone had created it, and lo and behold not only does it exist but it is better than I imagined. No fluff, no narration, just the good stuff.
Tarantino has always been a tribute to films filmmaker. No doubt about it. His new book he writes about that. Great video.
I am an old dog and saw Repo Man when it first came out. I think Repo Man and Valley Girl were important movies as a kid growing up in Southern California. I haven't seen Repo Man since but sure as hell am going to see it soon after watching this amazing mash up of sorts.
Obvious he wrote Pulp Fiction in the world of Repo Man. Not a direct sequel, but a companion.
I was 14 when Repo Man came out but I never watched it til last night, finally. It was great, and I kept having flashes to Tarantino and The Big Lebowski. Thanks for your well-done comparison!
I pay my sincere thanks to who did this video: brilliant. It was the glow that the opened case emitted that triggered me, then it flows. In the same league, Jim Jarmusch.
Thanks for doing this. I realized the Repo Man-Pulp Fiction connections a few years ago. I saw Repo Man back in the 80's several times and when I was watching Pulp Fiction for a second or third time, the opening of the briefcase reminded me of something that I couldn't put my finger on. A little later, I had the epiphany and it went from there.
Fantastic mix. Now I wanna make a Warehouse District Crime Movie with some far out fun elements.
Wow, very nice work. I have actually chatted with Alex Cox about QTs style... but you made a masters thesis comparison in this! Repo Man remains one of the best in my book. Tarantino has gotten where he is by lifting from the best! Thanks Tim!
Darryl DeLoach Thank You! I'm not trying to knock Tarantino here, but simply acknowledging Alex Cox's influence, which I think has not been widely understood. Repo Man was just a decade ahead of its time.
Yeah, Tarantino makes great movies. No doubt about it. Love his screenplays! But it's nice to give Alex the recognition he deserves. Even QT would agree!
Just watched Repo Man for the 100th or so time & was curious if any made this obvious comparison in favour of Alex Cox because you don't hear it in the main stream at all. Your video sums it up without speaking a word.
Some nice edits there. 👍
Repo Man could almost pass for a QT flick.
Dan Warren It's almost like they exist in the same universe...
This is a fantastic video.
Great mashup!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great VIDEO!!!
Ahaha. Well done. Nice work
Very well done!
Well done! Should have way more likes.
Thank you! Please share!

Good stuff, but I would say the Mexican standoff in Repo Man was influenced by Good Bad and The Ugly, but I don't know if it started before him.
That's entirely likely. Every filmmaker is influenced by the films they love. QT has acknowledged his admiration for Sergio Leone, but I've never come across any mention of Repo Man by him.
