Yeah, I think we knew it would be a beast hitter when Shadow Kyo came into rotation, but I'm gonna be honest..... like most things in this game where GO Rocket is concerned: I wish it was *at least* a little bit harder, if not much more :)
Most people are probably just gonna either Zekrom the Kyogre to death or even use something not type-advantaged and still win, cuz Niantic has obviously done a lot to PoGO but one of the things from long ago is that they nerfed Team GO Rocket to hell :( Remember when they first came out and Arlo was actually difficult with his Scyther lead? Even Cliff's Meowth packed a little bit of a punch back then
@@DrKendo Yeah, we def could use the return of Lapras lead. I remember using 3 optimized Great league pokemons vs Sierra's double Lapras, and actually having to craft my way to a winning strategy. Now it has come to cp500 pokemons taking down near all lineups xd

Truth!!! Just wish it happened more often ;) There was a time they used to rotate them every six weeks...I understand it isn't as sustainable and whatnot, but maybe we could do a little better than the current mostly random or every three months-ish? Thanks for viewing!

another strategy. Some kyogre have thunder. They’re tanky, and double resistant to water. But it takes a long time to charge so maybe it’s not possible.

I never thought of Scrafty but damn...he really did the work. I had the first 2 almost knocked out before having to bring in my Gyarados. Gyarados prob wasn't the best choice but Venusaur finished the job!
I was having major trouble beating Gio this time. Not sure wth my problem was. I'm better than this lol
I don't understand. My Giovanni's persian has 2k lower cp than yours, but he absolutely destroys every pokemon I throw at him including scraggy. He's not even at half hp when scraggy dies. The first time I fought against Giovanni his persian was so much weaker and I lost because my anti ground rock pokemons were underpowered, but after upgrading them I can't even beat persian without losing first and almost second pokemon.

Giovanniwill Always start with persian
Hey there, thanks for the question! Giovanni won't change if you fail the first time and go again (that's honestly a good strategy...you try once to see what he's got, then you tailor your team to whatever his Pokemon & their moves are). It's based on the encounter, though, so if he's in a Balloon, let's say, and you fail but the balloon goes away while a new balloon comes down, then that new balloon will be a new different Giovanni.
May be obvious but just in case it isn't: same principle with a PokeStop encounter for Giovanni - if you're at a PokeStop, that Giovanni will always be un-changed, but if you move to a different PokeStop then he could have a different team

Each grunt/leader/boss that spawns at a pokestop has the same pokemons and movesets for the whole day it is here. For all players
@@WhitewolfVr you will have a research already known as timeless travels...it has 14 pages....pages 10-13 are the Giovanni new research missions...so u gotta complete timeless travels...
How do you get access to the research?
Regarding the Special Research, it will hit your game automatically. I think Niantic f'd things up unless they intended for it to be this way, but their PokemonGOlive.com site said Midnight local time on the 27th, and I think everyone got the Special Research to advance at 10am their local time instead. Either way, if it hasn't hit your account, it should soon, but it's the "Timeless Travels" Special Research that has already been going on this season, it's just the Team GO Rocket stuff happens at part 9 and beyond.
If you have a Super Rocket Radar from previous research like I did for this video, you can encounter Giovanni with the Kyogre any time after Midnight on the 27th (which should be everywhere in the world now)

Is shadow machamp, togekiss and venosaur a good team?
Any time someone asks, unfortunately I give a very detailed answer that I can only hope people actually read and understand:
You want to address the team based on which Pokemon he is throwing at you, if you're struggling with this fight. Like we at least know for sure that he'll have Persian in 1st spot and Kyogre in 3rd, but Persian will be handled a bit differently if it has Scratch vs Feint Attack (video talks about this briefly), but Kyogre ONLY can use Waterfall as its Fast Attack (which is Water typing)...so luckily whoever you've got to deal with Kyogre can just always be Grass or if you go the Electric route just make sure it has another type in there to resist Water - like Zekrom is part Dragon which resists the Water.
So the team you mentioned would essentially cover some bases or maybe falter depending on your trainer level and the moves you have given your Pokemon, while also considering what Giovanni throws at you. Shadow Machamp will probably be paper-shredded by a Persian with Scratch, whereas it would do perfectly against Feint Attack; also good to have Counter & Cross Chop as the moveset.
Togekiss could take out Garchomp probably in some cases, but might not necessarily beat Nidoking unless it's powered pretty high with a good moveset, etc., but even then sometimes...
Venusaur deals super effective damage to Kyogre and it also resists Waterfall, so we like that! It should probably have Vine Whip and Frenzy Plant at minimum in most cases. If your trainer account is lower level then that's actually good because then the Rockets will throw lower opponents at you.

@@Couch_Gladiator_ The good thing about being at that level is that you'll fight CP amounts that are lower than what you see in my videos (all my accounts used in these Rocket videos are 40 and above...this video being 41), so the idea, essentially, is that you could use Pokemon with higher CP than I use while also fighting lower CP than I'm fighting, meaning it should be easier in two ways... but it's still important to focus on Super Effective-ness, movesets, typings, stun time, etc...all the stuff I try to cover in 3-5 minute videos :O

Hmm. I'm unsure if the previous Rocket-related Special Researches conflict, because this should actually be separate since it's lumped in with the Seasonal Research that came in at the start of the current Season in-game... Timeless Travels, I think it's called.

No, any time you want to fight Giovanni it is tied to having a Super Rocket Radar. For this video I already had one from previous research, so I was able to battle it right away. If you need the new research for a Super Radar, it will unlock based on your time zone. Thanks for viewing

I just beat Gio so, I'm on 13/14 now. It's defeat 3 Grunts, spin 10 pokestops and catch 10 pokemon. Super easy. I'm assuming 14/14 will just be a gimme. So, I don't see any reason why you couldn't wait for rain. Wish I had. My Shadow Kyogre SUCKS.

Landorus could take out Nidoking probably in most cases, but might not necessarily beat Garchomp unless it's powered pretty high with a good moveset, etc., but even then sometimes...
Thundurus DOES deal super effective damage to Kyogre but it doesn't resist Waterfall, which hits pretty hard...so unless your trainer account was maybe in the 20s and your Thundurus was nearing the 3000cp amounts, it could be a little harder. You can make it better for you if you're using Incarnate form (not Therian) and going Thunder Shock with Thunder Punch, but again, best to resist Kyogre's Water if you can

How? I've tried with Scrafty (CP1500), which is a 3-star, but it takes about three second before he is dead, while I've taken about 2/10 of Persian's life. All these YT-videos of defeating Giovanni seems like bullshit because the opponent in these videos never attack... I'ts just free way to take them down. For me (no matter which pokemon I battle with) the opponent take about 1/3 och 1/4 of my battler's life in just one fast attack. I'm level 39 btw.
So I wonder how come that it can take 1, 2, 3, even 4 seconds without the opponent attacking? For me it attacks from the first second to the last.
And when it finally start attacking, how can it take so little damage? I play with battlers with as double much CP as in this video, and yet my battler is down after 3-4 fast attacks, every time.
So, This is how to get Kyogre from Giovanni? Ok.

If you ACTUALLY want help, I don't mind helping you but not if you're going to attack me (presuming you meant to say "THIS IS A FRAUD" in your comment). I have something like 100 Giovanni videos over the years all using these same strategies and winning every time below 1500cp, many times below 1000cp on all of my team's Pokemon.
You just actually have to listen to the strategies I talk about, whereas anyone who complains usually doesn't seriously listen to the commentary. Plenty of comments on this video already talking about how it helped them win.

Yeah THIS DID NOT WORK, AT ALLL!
The only reason that would be is because you were using this team either with the wrong movesets or you went against Giovanni with different Pokemon/different moves. The video actually is extremely clear about the strategies used (observing stun time/stagnation, how CP scales up or down based on your trainer level, how different the fight will be if you face Persian with Scratch vs Persian with Feint Attack, etc).
So it actually does work, and you see video evidence of it, but aside from that you can see a ton of comments on this video already from people who are saying how helpful it was, how they beat it, etc. So if you want help and are prepared to listen, I'm always happy to help.
