This video is for educational purposes only; viewers should not attempt to infect any computer with a virus unless they have prior consent, legal authority, and are doing so for testing/educational purposes; and the video contains the footage of testing a virus on a Virtual Machine (VM), which means no people or machines were negatively impacted or harmed in the making of the video. Also, users should not try to replicate this (virus testing) at home without adequate prior knowledge or supervision, and they should only do so with their own computers; finally, they should never break the law in any way with the use of viruses, and if they do, neither I nor UA-cam is responsible.

Some of you are still confused why I had “real-time protection” turned off at the beginning. It’s because I wanted to see if Windows Defender can disinfect my machine after some malware launches its payload since having it turned on beforehand might corrupt the sample. I should also mention that other AV softwares such as Malwarebytes & Bitdefender are able to disinfect your PC even after you are infected.
Bro, turning off cloud protection meant Windows Defender was losing most of its ability to detect and combat viruses.
Turn it on. 😑
My man turn off what made windows defender great (whenever you download a file or any file change happens) it checks the file for malware. Smh
@NΙΚΟΣ ΜΑΥΡΙΔΗΣ windows defender are easy to be patched by virus if they manage to do a payload.thats why this built in antivirus always lose to virus if you turn off real time protection rather than use third party antivirus which the virus cannot access the files and patch it.
@NΙΚΟΣ ΜΑΥΡΙΔΗΣ actually,in my opinion, windows defender are good at detecting virus/malware but will become useless when virus attack the pc
@NΙΚΟΣ ΜΑΥΡΙΔΗΣ in this case,i agreed, because Siam Alam opened a ransomware which is not a harmful virus
I use defender and it's really enough for me, just avoid downloading suspicious files or if you are not sure, do a virustotal scan.
As for ransomware protection, it work really fine, even if it's annoying sometimes, it can save your files
It is enough, if you disable the AV and run malware then it's not WD's fault.
yep.

Siam Alam: „Today we will test how good Windows Defender works against viruses.“
Also Siam Alam: *disables basic antivirus features*
Sorry but why? Is this supposed to be some sort of advertising for expensive antivirus programs we won‘t need once?
Of course antivirus programs can’t protect you if you turn them off.
@@jackcatman8932 read pin lol
Sorry, that doesn't make sense. I don't know any normal user who switches off Defender.
But that’s only you who doesn't know anyone else who disables Windows Defender. Some users my disable it if WinDef keeps detecting a false positive, high cpu usage or they just wants to install a pirated software. Anti-virus programs such as malwarebytes and bitdefender can disinfect your computer even after the malware has executed its payload (And thats without having real time protection enabled beforehand). That’s why I had “real time protection” turned off at first to see if Windows Defender could do the same.
@@SiamAlamOfficial that’s the majority though, average people would buy their games, or don’t even play games at all and does office work instead.
@@SiamAlamOfficial Read again... "any normal user". But I don't think it will make any difference in your universe.
Something which i really dont like about this Video:
It doesnt show any problems of the defender, and there was no damage done
What's the best free antivirus software out there? there are too many and can't decide
Avast Free Antivirus. Siam tested Scorpion 3.0 Virus vs. Avast and Svast won
norton bought it
Well,i think Kaspersky
@@wehawt3901 Kaspersky should be avoided right now
Kaspersky or Bitdefender, or even Windows Defender alone is fine if you’re careful with what you do.
Hey, will you do a test of ClamAV?Its cross platform, open source, and free.
People say it used to be bad but now its good.
Real-time protection is supported only on linux though, would be nice if you tested it both on windows and linux.
Sure!
@@SiamAlamOfficial I think you should do a 2022 Video of something called Virus Battle.
You'd run virus samples and actual viruses against 5 different anti viruses.
AVG, Malwarebytes, BitDefender, Norton and IOBit for example.
And the results would show which has the best anti virus detection rate Nd stuff
Why without cloud protection?
I think it is possible to use Windows Defender as the main "Antivirus" - BUT, in this case is highly recommended an 'Alternative Tool for Removing Threats" as Hitman Pro o Norton Power Erase.
Edff😅❤😢😮😮😊😅
What other free AVS you would recommend?
I have Malwarebytes premium and I use Windows Defender as a another layer of security. I also don't download stuff from shady sites or any other programs that aren't legitimate. I check with Virustotal before going through with the installation.
Then you don't need an antivirus if you are competent on the internet. Also paid antivirus is basically useless if you need an antivirus then choose a free one. Also Malwarebytes was tested in Av Test #50 its shit
@@regent1516 it's only shit if you get the free version. Once you go up to premium it offers a variety of ransomware, malware, and helps block websites that can automatically download something onto your PC. It's always better to look out for your own concern.
2:27 how to fix this payloads viruses
I guess Windows Defender isn't really designed to deal against 1k malwares...
I guess you didnt get the videos idea prob cause youre a child
Hi, can you try Protegent's 2022 version?
I think it got even worse 😂.
Don't think protegent will ever be better than the windows defender, which Protogent sometimes detect random files that isn't harmful as viruses or anything that is harmful.
@@claudetheclaudeqc6600 ofc windows defender is 100x better
I just wanted to see if they even have updated protegent
2 years ago, we saw that its last update is from 2017, but i dont know what about now.
There are many advanced and new ransomwares, trojans and ransomwares. Sadly, most of them have anti-vm now.
So if they still didn't update protegent, it will probably be worse.
why is this test not in win 11
I have windows def only should i install something else as well?
No
No, paid antivirus programs are the biggest scam in computer technological history.
From my experiences against viruses
Ill say its not enough because it cant detect some types of malware so i recommend Another Antivirus and the best antiviruses i know are: kaspersky and nod 32
Kaspersky and Bitdefender are the best imo, nod32 is worse than both of the ones I mentioned. (Imo)
I disagree, those are also just bloat
the best antivirus is your brain
I love your videos ❤ :)
Siam alam do this same test with real-time protection enabled
200K subs and 2K views, whats happening with UA-cam?
i remember when i was downloading a game from a pirating site, i used it for a long time but i accidentaly clicked on a ad cause i was looking at my friend while he was talking to me. then i extracted and i seen it is sus, i tried opening task manager and stuff, but it was too late, and the virus wasn't ordinary, it was good, deleted all my files that i could have used to delete it or put my pc on fabric reset, idk how i did put it on fabric reset cause of my brother's and friends help, cause non of us knew what to do but we did it at the end, unknown how but yea.
nice, thanks. YT is full of videos praising Defender, it's time to be realistic, we are not in late 2000 anymore, ransomware and fileless viruses are much more advanced now, I do not think Defender (version included in Windows) is up to the current challenge.
Bro (no offense) but turn on the AV protection and other protection settings
I did turn on after running few samples. I purposefully had it turned off to see if it can disinfect me after being infected by a malware because other anti viruses are able to do that
The best antivirus is yourself. You have to know what files you're downloading and do it from trusted sources. It doesn't hurt to always think twice before opening either. Windows defender is good enough for me. If I run something suspicious, it can give me an extra warning, which is not unreasonable.
This app can't run on yourpc sometimes it's fake fake error.
In my case, windows defender is the best option for an av
I use Windows Defender on my new laptop ( 1 year old lol ) and I still didn't get any virus. ( Usually I use VirusTotal to scan files that I just downloaded )
Sure that works too but scanning them after downloading can be a risk though.
@@MFLP1998 I take that risk anyway
it is
the statement is true but I ain't gonna download other AV , just making it even worse
1:23 no cloud delivery scan
e um trojan?
More than enough if you have >50iq
Testing av without real time protection is stupid
