Maybe you could mention the stream bank erosion control there on left bank. It helps the stream and fishing.
My dad lost his arm in world war II. When he came back this was one of the streams that he fished. I was raised on streams like this where you were able to fish with a very short line which is what he needed. I'm glad it's still produces.
Nice creek. Tough fishing
What scenery! Those huge boulders and the stream flowing underneath 🤯
Pretty crazy, huh? Thanks for watching!
Thank you Tristan that was a fine Christmas gift, I pray you, Cassie and Bowser have a fine Christmas... looked some possible nice camping spots in those caves you went past....
Thanks Rob, Merry Christmas!
Dream Creek!
It was pretty great!
Merry Christmas Tristan! May Saint Tenkara bless you with many Flies and Rods......
Lol thanks, Merry Christmas!
I'd love to fish with this dude!!!
Lugar impresionante
It really is!
You should get to camping in your spots. Carry a firearm too monsters in the wild, great video
What is your trick to finding good streams? Do you pick a body of water that would have fish and work it's creeks or is there a randomness to it?
I spend a lot of time looking at maps.
@@TenkaraAddict Do you get many that have zero fish?
I want to fish there so bad
And I want to go back!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
🎉
@@TenkaraAddict Happy Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
purse your lips i think i know this body of water but it’s a thousand miles that way haha
It's about a thousand miles from much of anything lol
@@TenkaraAddict except my house.
What a beautiful stream! That was indeed some epic scenery. Let me offer my sincere thanks and appreciation for all the outstanding adventures you have shared over this past year! And here’s wishing you a very happy 2022!
Thanks Michael! I've got lots more good stuff to come in 2022 👍
Amazing! Inspirational! You truly have done a remarkable job in sharing the wonders of creation. I've done video and editing work for over 50 years and I know the time and effort it takes to produce even the shortest segments. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. Even though I'm 80 years old now you have inspired me to try "fly" fishing once again. I just received my line holders and assortment of wet and dry flies in the mail today. (what a Christmas present) In the past few weeks I have purchase my tenkara rod, level line, fly line backing, and 5x tippet. All as per your personal preferences. As soon as the weather cooperates, after about 40 years since last time "fly" fishing, I'm going to give it another try. Thanks to you I have been able to have a reason to live for yet a little while longer. Merry Christmas to you and your wife Cassie. May you be blest in your future endeavors. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your uplifting videos in the days ahead.
At 66 I find new eyes has increased value of time i spend outside. Perhaps Retirement Speed was what lacked ..
Go for it! Let us know how you do!
That's fantastic, Len! I'm happy to hear it! Best of luck on your future fishing adventures. Merry Christmas to you too 🎄
Best fishing (catching) trip I've been on in ages, 82 years old and your adventures bring back the memories of younger years and fly fishing. Great cinematography and voice overlay. Thank you for this adventure.
Get out there and keep doing it
I’m not a tenkara fan, more of a bread an butter fly fisherman, but I love watching the small creeks and ridiculously beautiful places that you fish. Absolutely spectacular and almost makes me want to pick up a tenkara!
Great video, what an amazing creek, what county and was it hot? We do have rocky streams but not in our part of England. Three species of trout in the stream, we do not have brook trout in the UK.
This was in Wyoming. Nope, it wasn't hot. It was chilly. Thanks for watching, Peter.
I used to fish a lot growing up, but now I don't, however, watching these videos he has, is making me want to go again. I'd especially like to try his technique.
@Jessica Cannon I watched a few videos and headed up north a few days ago for the first time in 15 years. I camped in the woods and walked down to the lake. It didn't look right and a few people early in the morning told me the lake was fished out of trout. Then I went to a mountain creek the same size as this and just did boulder jumping. It was so beautiful, but I didn't bother to waste my time for some sardines.
I recognize this creek by the boulders! Have not yet fished it in this section. Thanks for another great video. Do you have any idea how much you do for tourism in these states? Awesome!
You should definitely fish it the next time you're there! And nah, I don't think I do that much tourism-wise for a state that already has Yellowstone 😄
Yep, I know that creek too.
Wyoming is loaded with hidey hole creeks and streams.
Certainly not small but Wind River Canyon fishing is a blast.
Thank you for not revealing the location. That area is really being ruined by tourism. 20 years ago you could go there and hardly see another person. Now the hiking trails are having erosion problems. My mom and dad live about 10 miles from here.
That rod seems pretty sweet. My tenkara rod is too long for creek fishing, but it's super fun to fish with. The simplicity of tenkara, delicate presentations, and effortless drag-free drifts make it so satisfying. If you ever get a chance, you should try tenkara rod fishing in saltwater. My Dragontail Hellbender could toss clousers easy and held up to rockfish, the biggest being 5lbs.
I'd like to at some point. Looks fun!
I think it's funny that dudes think trout are so selective, this dude slays em literally uses only one type of fly.
This video was awesome and finally helped me figure out how to successfully
This guy could fill up a bucket with water and catch fish in it !
Another awesome video well done some really nice fish
Un petit coin de paradis pour les arc en ciel et fario merci pour le partage et bonne santé à toi et à toute ta famille, bonne fêtes de fin d'année
Thank you, and Happy New Year to you too!
Please add more Thai subtitles.
How can I add Thai subtitles if I don't speak Thai.
@@TenkaraAddict You can use google translate.
All time creek indeed. Hope I come across one similar someday. Thanks for sharing the fishing, caving, spelunking adventure.
Thanks for watching, Deake!
So much fun! Great video!
The big boulders are reminiscent of some spots on the South Platte in Colorado, but without the hordes of other fishermen.
I've been to that area but never fished it. Thanks for watching 👍
This is one of the coolest places I have seen.
love your videos😍 little tip, wet your hands better before touching the trout!
I wet my hands each time. Touching trout with dry hands is gross.
Where do you buy your net? I like it
Hello! Great fishing! Incredible places in your videos. I just wanted to ask - do you have a practice to cook and eat caught fish or you fishing for fun only? I'm only interested, no more :) I live in middle Russia and I have one-two creeks not far of my location where I can find and caught the similar trout. (same little size :) 15inches is a record ) And, unfortunately, such fishing can had a big fine.
No, I don't eat the fish. Just catch and release. Why the big fine?
@@TenkaraAddict The creek trout listed in "Red Data Book of Russia" and have a "Rare" status - for this reason it's fishing is prohibited. The any licenses are not provided.
Of course it is very upsetting, but sometimes some fishermans catch it for eat and such fines are necessary. That's so we live - fun and risky :)
I self using this principle - catch and release :)
What is the length of your visibile line and invisible line?
Check the video description 👍
What brand is the net with the measurements labeled that you use?
Measure Net
Tristan did you notice how high the water line was on those Hugh boulders. and merry Christmas.
Sure did! Thanks for watching, Sharon.
I’ve never fished this stream, in fact, I’ve no idea where it is, but, I recognized it a short time into your video. Do you follow Drew LookinFishy?? In the openings of his videos, he is driving along this stream. Great video, I really enjoy your content.
Nope, I don't. I just looked at several of his videos and didn't see the intro you referred to.
@@TenkaraAddict 10-20 seconds into his videos, an intro montage begins. The second clip in the sequence, is the stream you were fishing. It really looks like a gorgeous place. Thanks again, I really enjoy your videos.
Edit: that intro is in his videos starting 10 months ago to present.
Merry Christmas buddy!✝️
Thanks, you too!
Another awesome adventure, Tristan ! Thank you so much. Merry Christmas.
Thanks Ed! Merry Christmas.
Nem necessito começar assistir pra dar um like. Ótimo conteúdo, lugar espetacular
A gente só pode sonhar com um lugar assim... O Tristan vai lá e pesca nele 😂
Thanks Carlos!
That's my job 😁
I'll never be able to visit and fish those locations. Through you I can get the experience of being there virtually. Well done Sir, and keep them coming.
Nice fishing! Wonder if you ever take home any of them to eat?
Nope
@@TenkaraAddict Pity, for they are the most delicious fish one can eat. I can vouch for it!
What an awesome stream. Thanks for your video, is very inspirational.
I'm so glad I found your channel [I guess that's what it's called]. Being here in North Texas the places for me to catch trout on a clear stream is very limited. Love seeing the places you go and the fish you catch.
very cool stuff.
Thanks for watching 👍
Fishing in heaven?
Close!
The area's you have in the US is astounding. Most rivers here in Ireland are club water only and open fishing is limited to canals or coast line
and im not really a yankee but i imagine some of the people who crossed the pond were fly fishermen
I definitely don't take it for granted! I'll never run out of amazing small streams to fish.
Hey man I just discovered your channel and really enjoy them, and I really like how gentle you are with the fish like wetting your hands and not holding them by the gills or out rod the water to long. Keep up the great work👍
B..E..A..U-Tee-Full
Sure was!
lOVE THE VIDEO
Thanks David 👍
Awsome!!!!😁👍
Thanks Tommy 👍
I love how quickly you direct the fish into the net, and how gently and minimally you handle the fish. Thank you for that!
The Bob Ross of fishing
High praise!
Very cool place Tristan! I can’t wait for summer already, so I can get into the wilderness to fish some remote locations.
You and me both!
Don't hav any gear or can afford it but ur videos never disappoint me its so peace in mind for me... .
Thank you again 😍🙏
Thanks, I appreciate you watching!
Looks like a really fun spot. Have a fantastic holiday!
Yeah, it was awesome! Thanks, you too 👍
Great video. Such a cool spot.
Gorgeous and healthy fish. What was the biggest and smallest fish you’ve caught and where creek lake pond?
I basically fish only small creeks, and I've caught a couple of 18-inchers.

Wow! That was an awesome tag along for me. Thanks so much for sharing. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family Tristan. Dang that stream was beautiful...
Thanks Jay! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, too.
I think this is your best video yet. They are all excellent, but the uniqueness of this stream and incredible setting really did it for me. Thanks for sharing- I felt like I was right there with you 👍👍
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
I find myself moving my arrow to see if it matches where yours pops up!! haha Love your arrows.. :)
Lol I do like to include the arrows when I can. Sometimes they're hard to show because I'm moving around too much, and sometimes it's really obvious. Thanks Richard!
How many flies do you loose on an average fishing trip?
GOD Bless you and your families
It varies wildly. I lost maybe 1 on this creek, if that. On others I can lose 3 or 4, and others I won't lose anything.
Reminds me of my cane fishing days when we would tie our line to the end of our pole. We had to be really creative sneaking up on the trout.
👍 Thanks for watching.
Je comprends un peu le français, et moi aussi je te et Cassie souhaite une bonne année! Vidéo fantastique!
Thanks Robert, same to you and yours!
Great video! Have you ever caught a tiger trout? We see some occasionally here in WI.
Yep, I've caught several 👍
I wish I could fish with you someday and learn from you I would pay you for lessons happily great trout streams here in Missouri 😄
I'm not a guide, unfortunately. Thanks for watching, Gregory.
What a unique creek, love how it formed.
Me too!
Merry Christmas, and thanks for another great video - early present.
Thanks Ian, Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and happy new year! Love this channel! Can’t wait to see where you go next year!
Merry Christmas! I've got some awesome places planned for 2022 😁
What a lovely stream. Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas, Tristan.
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas.
Cool vid. Looks similar to the other cave stream you fished.
This one was much smaller and intimate. Both were fun, though!
Stunning place. thanks for another great vid.
Thanks for watching!
Truly amazing, and such a beatiful scenery!
It was a great spot, for sure!
Beautiful!
Thanks for watching 👍
Tristan - thanks so much for these videos. They are some of my favorites to watch. The scenery is always spectacular. One question - Do you ever gut hook any fish and if so what do you do - cut the line and leave the hook in the fish or just work until you get the hook out? I guess using barbless hooks helps with this issue, huh? Anyways, here is hoping you have a fantastic Christmas and keep the videos coming to us newbies to your channel.
It rarely happens. I've gut hooked a fish one time. I cut the tippet off as close to the eye of the hook as I could get and let the fish go. I couldn't reach the hook itself. Thanks for watching!
It's pretty unusual to gut hook a trout when fishing with flies or lures. Usually, the fish will try to spit out the fly or lure as soon as it tastes it and realizes it isn't actually food. It's more common to gut hook a fish if you fish with bait (worms, salmon eggs, etc.) It's somewhat more common with artificfials to get a hook into the gills (maybe one fish in fifty or so). With a standard barbed hook, it is almost impossible to unhook the fish without tearing the gills when this happens, which will be fatal for the fish. With a barbless hook, or a hook on which the barb has been pinched down with pliers, you can usually release a gill hooked fish.
That is a creek worth exploring.
Sure is!
Love your videos! Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks Sacha! Merry Christmas to you too.
No sound? (sorry, it is my earphones)
Assume that if there's a video on here, there's sound 😄 Thanks for watching, Mike.
Tat was a unique creek. Very nice.
Thanks Dave!
Great Canyon Fishing!!!
