cute! I quilted a quilt qith those panels on it last month. Your bag is sew very cute!!
Hi Di! That is awesome! That exact panel? That's so crazy! I have had this video in my cue for over a year now. The Galentine's project was the perfect opportunity for it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love how you sewed the lining. I need to make 25 bags as thank you gifts. I have been putting them off because I was afraid the lining would be so difficult.
So happy this is helpful! This is my favorite method. 25 bags is a lot!
Love this! I am definitely going to use this for the quilted Halloween bags I am working on for my kids.
Maybe they will even be done for this year 😅
Yay! So glad you love this! Great idea for Halloween bags! Love it! ❤️
Such a great video with great instructions. You are a good teacher. The way you put the lining in is so much better than the way I do it. I can’t wait to get some panels and do this. Thanks. Love it!!!
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that. you are going to try it. Super easy and so much fun! ❤️
I love the print in that panel. I have used ready made cloth place mats to make bags. Using panels is a wonderful idea. That is a cute bag. It will make a nice gift.
Love that idea, too! Thank you! ❤️
I used your directions to make a tote for my cutting mat and stripology xl ruler. I love how you did the lining. I felt like I got to skip a whole step. I will definitely be making more bags in different sizes!
I love this! Thank you for letting me know you are using this pattern! When I make these videos, I never know when people actually make the projects and love hearing when they do! I don’t own the stripology yet, but I can see how it would help! Thank you again for watching and for sharing. ❤️
So cute!! And looks so easy! I need a bag to keep my wool appliqué in. Im gonna try it! Thanks Kris!
This would be perfect, Marie! You can adjust the size so easily, too. So happy you love it!
Thank you for sharing this project. The bag turned out so cute.
Love the handles. 💛
Thank you! So glad you like it! It was a lot of fun to make. ❤️
Love it! Now I’m off to find cute panels. Thank you 😊
Yay! So many cute ones to chose from! ❤️
Brianna is going to love this. Wonderful project!
Thank, Michelle! I hope she does! I need to fill it up with goodies! LOL!
What a great idea! It's darling and we all need bags like these now for shopping. So cute! Thank you!
You are so welcome, Dotty! Thank you so much! These would make perfect shopping bags, especially if you adjust the size to make them a little bit bigger. So happy this is helpful. ❤️
Super cute! Great use of panels or fabric with big bold designs! Thanks for a great tutorial!
You are so welcome, Cindy! The bolder the better! 😍
So adorable!!! Love how you used the panels in both totes, and the soft and stable instead of batting - thanks so much!!♥️
You are so welcome! Glad you like it! ❤️
That is so cute. I know a couple of little girls who would love a tote bag each. Hmm, just had an idea. I am giving them a latch hook kit each for Christmas. I'll make them this tote bag to keep it all in. Thanks Kris.
Love that idea! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow that’s really cute
So cute! I was taught to mark the fabric with the rounded part of the Hera marker not the point. It glides instead of grabbing the fabric. I’ve never seen it used this way but we see different ways every day! Thanks!
Thank you! I have marked it using both sides, but I personally prefer the point. I like the crispness of the line, but you are right, the curve "behaves" better, for sure! Thank you for this!
@@SewtheDistance I’ve never tried the point but I may next time!
I have had a Valentine’s panel that I did not know what to do with and now I have a cute project. Thank you for the great tutorial!
I have one too - thanks for the idea!!!
Hi Tonya! YAYY! I love when that happens! You are so welcome! Glad it is helpful. 💖💖💖
Hi Kris, That's a very pretty bag you made. And I really like the way you quilted it ❣🤗
Thank you so much! They are fun to make!
Thanks Kris😄 Cute bags. Good hints too re managing a panel. ❤️🇦🇺
Yay! So happy you liked it! ❤️
Such a lovely fabric, but a real shame not every once can buy it. I am in the UK. I have never seen panel fabric like this before. I will be looking now. Cute bag though 🤗
Sorry to hear that! Can you get it on Etsy? Here's a link to the panel if you can: www.etsy.com/listing/989232506/soulshine-daydreams-panel-kelly-rae?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=soulshine+and+daydreams&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&cns=1&organic_search_click=1
Hope this helps.
@@SewtheDistance thank you for the link. But they don't deliver to the UK 😞
Well, that stinks! I am so sorry!
@SewtheDistance haha thats ok. Thank you, Kris, for making the effort to reply and to try to help. The thought was there, and I really appreciate it. You can't have everything you see. But you can admire it. Your bag is beautiful 😍 kim 🌈
Great tutorial! I hadn’t even thought about panel fabric! Thank you! ❤️
You are so welcome! Glad it is helpful!
Soooo stinking cute Kris!! I love making totes as gifts. I was interested in how you attached the lining. A new method for me. Love that. And a great use for panels. Thanks.
Ps. Hope your mom is doing well ❤
Hi Delia! Thank you so much! Glad it was useful. Mom is doing great! Thank you so much for asking. It takes a long time to recover from the treatments, so she has some rough spots, but as of November, she is still cancer-free! Praise the Lord! Thank you so much for asking! ❤️
@@SewtheDistance that’s wonderful. Certainly puts life in perspective ♥️
Love these bags!! Thanks so much for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
You are so welcome, Eileen! Thank you for watching! ❤️
I bought the panel and I'm so excited to make them for my sisters!!
Is this tote washable? Very giftable and clear instructions♥
Hi Susie! Great question! YES! Soft n Stable is 100% polyester and washes/dries beautifully. So glad you love it!
You can purchase this panel by calling Our Generation's Quilt Shop in Montoursville, PA. Their number is (570) 980-9958.
So cute! Love it 💖
Thank you! So glad you like it!
Best tote bag tutorial I've seen!! Thank you so much. I am fairly new to sewing ... I was wondering about boxed corners!! Looking forward to that video!! ♥️
So happy you love it, Bobbi! So flattering! LOL! I will show the boxed corners soon. Super easy to do, too! ❤️
What a cute way to use a panel! Great idea. (I think when marking with the hera marker you are supposed to use the other side, with the curve, not the one with the point on it. That's what Eleanor Burns does).
Hi CJ! Great advice with the hera marker! I find it gives a better indentation on the foam with the point, but I have used the other side on other battings. I probably should have mentioned that. LOL! Thank you so much for mentioning this!
Love this bag!! What color did you use for the quilting?
Thank you! Great question! I used Aurifil 2600 (Light Grey) 50 weight cotton thread for this project. I hope this helps! ❤️
Love this! Thanks!! I just ordered a panel to do a bag. I understand about cutting the borders off but if I want the bag a bit larger, would sewing new borders back on do the same thing & give a wonky look? :)
Ohhh--great question! I think you could have more success with sewing your own borders on personally because it would stabilize the stretch of the printed fabric. Maybe try a sample first just to make sure. Hope this helps! ❤️
Great- thanks!!
I love the fabric panel with the ladies face. Where can I order that?
I’m not sure if it is still available but the name of it is Soulshine and Daydreams by Kelly Rae Roberts for Benartex. Hope this helps! Maybe look on Etsy?
