Thanks for this video! My e string has been broken for months and I’ve never changed my strings on my own before. Finally got the nerves to try it myself and it was way easier than I expected thanks to this video.
Do I have to loosen or move the A string out of the way prior to changing my e string? (Is it necessary?) Also, is it better to have a ball end for the fine tuner? My string popped from the loop (the very end!) and I’m worried it could happen again.
Sorry for the late reply. You don't have to, it might be easier depending on your peg. Ball or loop ends are good, if the problem persists, see a reputable shop.Thanks.
I have an electric violin, is the replacement the same or different? And can I use "normal" violin strings or are there different ones for electric violins?
The replacement and strings are the same, although players of different styles of music tend to have brands of strings that they prefer for their tonal qualities.
When we carve bridges we put a small piece of parchment on the e string slot so that the sleeve is unnecessary. We prefer this solution because the sleeves can come off of the bridge and cause a buzzing sound. If you don't have parchment on your bridge you should use the sleeve.
You can do this. Just wind the string slowly once you get close to the pitch to avoid tuning too high and breaking the string. Or, if you are near our shop we will change it for you, no charge.
Did anybody else notice tht the like button like shimmered when he said give us a like 2:14
That’s cool

We're so glad that you gave it a try and it worked out for you!
Thank you, someone moved my violin or touched it then broke it with out permission, the entire bow and bow hairs and broken and the E string is off
Bro im so mad just looking at this comment
I feel bad just reading this
If all or a lot of the bow hairs are broken, and you hadn’t opened your case in a while, it might be “bow bugs”(carpet beetles).
Damn...
We are so sorry!
super helpful!!
Very helpful! 😊
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thank goodness I found this, I was about to panic.
I'm glad we could help!
I did until I watched it lol
Thank you, sir.
The e string peg is so smooth and slippery what can I do
Perfect!
Cant seem to get the e string intertwined in the pegs, its always loopy or crisscrossed. What do i do?
I was tuning mine after taking it on a field trip bus and the string popped out completely 😔
You helped me out so much

It is best to keep the other strings on so that the bridge doesn’t fall off, I would change the strings one at a time

Do we need a rubber sleeve or something to protect the bridge?

Thanks but how do you attach it thought
My new string didn’t have a ball on end so I transferred the old ball over to the new one. Will that work ok?
Should work just fine.
Thanks for the reply and the great video 😊
Why is there not a slot in front of my fine tuner to insert a string
My new e string doesnt have the colored thing at the end
The color doesn’t matter it’s just if you have a string that matters
when i turn the peg, the string always come out. How do i fix this?
Bro my e string is short i dont know if its normal or not but im streseed😭 also i have the same problem with the pegs
The hole in the peg should go all the way through. Make sure that it is all the way through the hole, that will help
How high can you tune the E past E on a full size violin?
I'm my experience, with how hard it is to tighten the string just to E, you'd be lucky to tune it up a half step
We would suggest that you not tune the E string above pitch because of all the strings it breaks the most easily.
Thank you so much I can finally fix my strings without my teacher doing it for me 😊
You're welcome!
my e string came off and I am very scared.
Same 😢

I'd rather take mine to a violin shop rather than replace the string myself to avoid another breakage.
That's fair. If you are near us, feel free to drop in. We would be happy to help. There isn't a cost.

Great suggestion! We need to do that.
