What can I say about the weather this year in Northern Ireland?!! It is one of the worst summers that I can remember since another horror - 1985. It is cold, windy, overcast, with at times quite heavy rain and with temperatures struggling to even get into the teens. Dreadful!! I do hope it is not spoiling your trip too much as despite the weather you are very welcome. I am an avid gardener and my garden now looks like a busted mattress after couple of stormy days. Ah well, there is always next year. Keep smiling and safe travels folks. 🌻🌻
Hi ya! 🤗 weathers not too much of a bother it’s the wind I hate being a photographer lol 😂 I’m stuffed aren’t I 😂😂😂 thanks so much for watching I’m really loving it here! ☘️❤️🤗
Greetings from the North Coast. The play park beside the arcadia cafe used to be the site of the Arcadia Ballroom when the Irish show bands played. During the 70s bands like Dr Feelgood , Ian Drury and the Blockheads and the Stranglers played along with lots more bands
Hi there! Ah cool! Ian Drury lived near me lol I be that was amazing in those days it’s a great building! Thanks for watching 🤗👍

First time of watching you. I live about 18/20 miles from Portrush so thanks for making good video with favourable comments 😊😊😊

Hi! Thanks for the welcome 🤗❤️ ah right! Thanks for that never seen it before, thanks for watching!

One thing you are guaranteed to see in Northern Ireland is politics and patriotism. Everyone has a view, I have my views on Northern Ireland, but some people like to let everybody know what their opinions are every opportunity they get. Portrush, love it, in it nearly everyday. Used to be difficult for motorhomes there, but they realised that motohomers brought in as much money as those who stayed in hotels so have made it easier for them to find parkups.
Patriotism is great but I don’t do politics at all it’s a nightmare and I avoid it like the plague lol 😂. I always buy local and shop where I am and so do 99 percent of all motorhomers eh so it’s a wise move to keep the local economies going 👌 thanks so much for watching and telling me this info I really appreciate it! 🇮🇪❤️☘️🤗
Hi jp what a great 👍 place old school 🏫 shops very not like UK s hole raven likes it and Sammy never went in a shop stay save and sane
Not all the people of N.Ireland act like that. The further you go up the coast towards the Mournes, you’ll find people aren’t as bitter as they are in Belfast
Hi JP, ive been going to Portrush every summer since i was a child, only half an hour away Limavady a wee town between Coleraine and Derry. Ill get back my point, as long as i can remember that penny farthing has been there. Probably not for the 50 years ive been on the planet but as long as i mind 😂

Hi mate, some friends and I went to Eastbourne from SEAFORD East Sussex and there were two buzzards on the fence post on the way in. I thought they were Eagles at first lovely to see these beautiful birds. I have two seagulls that nest behind my house every year they come and knock on the kitchen door for their breakfast, they get cat biscuits beautiful looking I know some people don’t like seagulls but I think they’re absolutely gorgeous and our local team Brighton and Hove Albion called the seagulls❤️❤️❤️👍👍

I think the only parts you missed were the harbour where the lifeboat is stationed. That leads towards the Harbour Bar which has the best Guinness and grub in the town. Further past that will take you on a great little walk around Ramore Head. Gives for better weather in the morning and well worth a visit. You can drive through the town and park up close to it. Grayson was from Are You Being Served. I am officially old lol. I’ve never been to Ireland. I’ve always fancied it. The patriotic thing in England is a thing of the past. People are just disillusioned I think. So glad you fly the flag for us I love my country. Especially the actual country 😂😂😂
lol! Thats the one Christine!! Great ol show that! It’s stunning here! I think people get too wrapped up in the politics and the bad and forget to just live life and see the good in things, thanks for watching hun! ❤️🤗🙏
@@JPLamoureuxsTravels The thing is that the politics is our identity no matter what your views are. We are only out of the worst of the most recent war after hundreds of years so it’s a tad too soon to just move on. For us it’s still very much ongoing. The flags you see at this time of the year for instance are part of unionist identity that mark the Tweflth, public holidays with band parades and bonfires. If you look into it you’ll get a better idea. Actually as you travel about at this time of the year, just seeing flags and painted red white and blue kirbstones will tell you you if you are in a unionist or republican area.
I’m trying to write objectively which is difficult but the thing is that not only do we mourn the thousands killed but the highest rates of trauma and suicide endured in the U.K.
Sorry to bring this negative aspect to your blog but visitors need to realise we are still licking our wounds.
On a positive note, the golf course you mention is actually world class (I don’t follow golf so please excuse my lack of knowledge) where the very top world class tournaments are paid with only the best world class players 😅
Enjoy your stay ☘️
Great video, JP, on what the Irish call a fine soft day(referring to the weather) . Hope it warms up for you, and Are You Being Served mate in that lovely country😉. Cheers!

That fine mist style rain is what we call 'mizzle' or 'WET RAIN'! LOL! Called that because it will absolutely soak u all the way through, to ur undies, without u actually realising! 😄 Like Sammie, i am drawn towards wee shop like that & have been in 'Blue Moon' many times!
I live about 20miles from Belfast, but when i was young, we would have gone on day trips, during school holidays, to Portrush, Newcastle or Omagh to the Ulster American Folk Park etc. They were always the places everyone would flock to!
Now, my husband & I would generally head for the Sperrins & Ballycastle for day trips. Any longer than a day trip, we always head for Rathlin Island...
U get to ferry across from Ballycastle & takes about 30mins or so (2 different ferries, 1 ferry takes about 20mins & the other takes about 40mins). Its absolutely beautiful there, even on a stormy day! Its always so relaxing watching & listening to the waves! Its as if time stands still, as soon as u step off that ferry! U can literally feel ur shoulders drop & all the tension in ur muscles disappears! All the Islanders are super friendly & always willing to help u out, in anyway they can!
There are 3 lighthouses on the island... East, West & Rue Point (south), which is amazing for the views & for sea fishing! The West lighthouse is an 'upside down' lighthouse & is where the RSPB have a big sea bird sanctuary!
At this time of year its brilliant to see the cliffs, almost covered, in so many different species, but theain 1 people go to see is the Puffins, which nest there from April to July, so would quite possibly, there at the time u were on the North Coast.
The Ferry crossing can be abit rough at times, but the scenery is amazing & if ur lucky u might even see dolphins! Plus, once on the island, u r quite likely to see the seals lazing about, along the whole islands shoreline! AND... dont forget to keep ur eyes open for the elusive 'Blonde Hare'! 😃
Sorry for rambling on, I can be a bit like a tourist rep/agent promoting the island, once i start talking about it! I just love it! Nowhere else compares!
Absolutely awesome comment! Thank you so much! 🤗 I’m really loving it here in N and S Ireland it’s very beautiful and the people so far have been fantastic! Thank you so much for watching and commenting I really really appreciate it ❤️🤗☘️x

Portrush only srarted to charge for car parks in the last few years. The council have income from golf, caravans, motorbike racing, raft race and tourists. The flags are up all around the towns because it's close to the 12th July Orange Order parades that take place all over Northern Ireland. Big family days with marching bands and colourful banners. I think AHOGHILL is the local town near Portrush thats hosting the main parade this year. You might get some feeder parades in the morning from that Orange Hall you showed earlier.
Ah right! Thanks for the info! I love facts like that! Thanks for watching Ivan! 🇮🇪☘️❤️🤗
