@@insan86 There are hundreds of classical dancers in India who dance with perfection but they chose this girl. When doing something like this that is a dance form dedicated to god and has such deep meaning behind it, it should be done with perfection, the dance class I go to is not a very famous one but there is room for mistakes there, if in just a dance class u have to dance perfectly, then this is a big stage and this is representing our culture thus everything should have been perfect. It is our culture and it should be respected and it’s not like other dancers were given a chance,

I’m Bharathnatyam dancer practicing (Kalakshetra style )under my Beloved Guru Padmini Subrahmanyam from the age of 5 Did my Arangetram a decade ago. I could not help but laughing at this🤣🤣 Am I the only one who felt this is funny?

I learnt bharathanatyam when I was in my middle school for just 2 year's. But still can know that this is not the right way. Her mudras were clumsy, posture lousy.
Me too mam, am also a Kuchipudi dancer, learnt Bharatnatyam too, disciple of Late Shri Pasumarti Sitaramayya garu, winner of Sangeet natak academy.. Felt disgusting n felt tat there is no respect for classical art form its has become fashion rather than dedication.
Comments like the above were what made me quit learning Bharatnatyam years ago. Weight shaming, body shaming, colorism are sadly too common in the dance fraternity. Not all of us are born to be dancers or born with natural poise and grace. Some may take longer to evolve and I think that’s more than ok. Everyone is on their own journey with respect to the arts. Instead of finding this laughable as a trained dancer as you so claim perhaps you could have provided constructive feedback?
@@myas-3995 none of us here are body shaming. We respect the art and also know the importance and significance of what an arangetram is. There are many people who can't afford an arangetram even after years of practice but when someone is privileged to have it, they should be convincing of it's worth too. Which is why ppl who are trained find it offensive. And there is nothing wrong in criticism it depends on how you accept n improve or ignore n carry on. Can't quit n blame others.

please no its not about ordinary or special. I am a bharatanatyam dancer myself. She is giving her best and hatsoff to that . But when the expressions are too strained you cannot expect people to not talk right? This is her arengetram ...minimum 6 months of training is mandatory before performing. What was she doing for these many months ? What did she work on? It shows in the final performance if you haven't really put a lot of effort in practice . She no doubt will do amazing ...but she has a long way to go. I do support people who are promoting or loving classical dance forms. I am supporting her journey. But she can do better. Even if she was ordinary it doesn't make a difference. Everyone is judged ....regardless of them being special or ordinary. And sahi nahi tha woh part of the performance..toh zabardasti hai kya accha bolna? I am sure people understand the difference between whats right and not right. Not spreading hate ...I love her courage and what she is doing is amazing...But she needs more training period.
