This is awesome! Exactly what I needed for a current project, at least as a start; Do you have any tips for drawing the 8 ball where the center is canted off in some direction, like top left? Need to learn how to make the 8 and background circle transformed to give this effect, and have little experience with photoshop.
I'd use Warp Transform to do this.
@@BLTV_Photoshop thanks! My intuition said to attempt this. Can I also warp transform the text with the circle, to handle it in one step, or would I just have to transform the cutout, and then approximate the transform for the text as a separate step?

I have a question. Do you have to use the elipse marquee tool for this (and other tutorials of yours that require circles?) Why can't you use the circle shape tool? I'm not trying to sound rude, I'm just a little confused.

having trouble putting the white above the number 8 using control + delete...please help
It could be one of many reasons why this is happening, however, one would have to inspect your file to find the source of the problem. For example, it could that your foreground and background colors are inverted or that the wrong layer is active, etc..
7:43 The warp transform icon is greyed out for me here. Did I do something wrong, or did they tweak PS CC since this was recorded?
Go to Image > Mode > RGB color, 8 bits/Channel

I have a problem at the beginning , when I convert both layers to smart object I end up having one completely white layer, not lot yours...what to do?
Not sure I understand. Are you saying that after you make the black circle into a Smart Object (ua-cam.com/video/RaPvVn_W89I/v-deo.html), you no longer see the gradient base layer and the black circle layer in the Layers panel? Instead, you see one layer filled with white?
@@BLTV_Photoshop at 1.23 on video...after shift both layers when I go to make smart object of them I get one completely white layer, but your one looks like gradient one

Yes. In the Layer Style window, click "Color Overlay" and pick another color.
