Many moons ago I drove a King low loader, but back then there were no hydraulics to drop the swan neck out, it was a farm jack either side. Lots of hassle, so anything on tracks, (and sometimes wheels) went over the side.
I can imagine what a hassle that was. Years ago at cramscene we used to load things from the side.
King trailer brings back memories as a kid in the 80s at work with father ( he was plant fitter) went with him on weekends & school holidays, yes plant machinery side loaded, enjoyed days out with wagon drivers, seem to remember the pins being knocked out with sledge hammer by their wagon driver. I got to an age where I could side load the Poclains & JCB excavators as a young teenager.
At last a decent heavy haulage channel 🎉and it's a shame that not all drivers leave the abnormal bays for abnormal loads because as far as I'm aware fridges and curtainsiders don't run under the STGO regs 😂😂

I drove abnormals back in the 70’s, long loads, mostly concrete bridge beams round the then new motorway construction. Always some kind of aggro, but also too great mates and appreciation from contractors for the job we did well. Rules and regs were much different then, though, and restrictions less tight running under special types.

Heavy haul generally will be with manual. Automatic transmission too soft for heavy weight.

Excellent content only one slight issue for me is there is a slight lag on the vocal feed easy sorted with editing or a decent mic, otherwise really good interesting stuff. Look forward to more
Thanks for your input. I totally agree, I noticed after posting. In the edit everything looked fine. I will try different editing software. If the channel grows I will get better equipment.
