Based on today’s sky rocketing prices you probably saved 2k on an average round trip these days i would have thought!

I'm flying this route for the first time in a couple of months so it's nice knowing what to expect :) Tip for next time: you can enter your Qantas booking reference on the British Airways site and it'll give you the AA reference number so you can choose your seat without needing to call Qantas :)
If you go into your camera settings you can probably toggle 4k or 1080p quality. Im not complaining a lot of people just dont know they have to toggle it on with iPhones.
I just found out that now - I've changed the settings on my phone (honestly I had no clue about it before) - My videos from March 2024 will start to roll out in Higher quality
@@YoungAussieFlyer I figured that was why the quality was so low lol its really stupid apple makes you toggle 4k when they have been selling it as a built in feature for so many years now! Even on the iPhone 15 it still comes toggled off for video 🙄 i look forward to better quality soon.
Excellent trip report! Pity seat selection was complicated. With Air NZ and United the seat selection process is a lot simpler. Pretty sure all I had to do was go to the United website, type in my Air NZ reference number and I was able to choose a seat and it gave me the United confirmation/reference number.

yes you can as AA and Qantas share the same alliance. AA however only flies to Sydney, not anywhere else in Australia.

Yes, I checked my Yellow Carry-On sized Bag in, recline wasn't too bad - but considering I only slept 6 hours it wasn't that bad
I like how American airlines wraps the pillows and blankets in a bag. On Chinese carriers they don't usually do that especially Hainan airlines
