Tip for spraing: start spray outside of object you painting and spray consistently over the surface. You do short shots of rubber paint and it was not so good though. The start of spray and the end are creating big dips of paint, you don't want them. Wery nice project! I like this metalic color. Pozdro z Katowic :)
Hey +SickBiker , nice video... like the final result of your bike! What can you tell about the bike paint state at this moment? Do you think Plasti Dip is durable and resistent, taking into account your bike rides on that particular bike? Do you think it will last some years? Thx
The spraying issues is bc the air in the can starts to dry out the plasti dip....Btw it you buy a preval spray system and .08 metal flake combined with an automotive clear you can have a really cool metal flake effect to any plasti project....but you can't go any bigger then .08 or it will gum up the preval sprayer.
It certainly looks a lot better, so good job on that. I was consider doing this, but this video pretty much convinced me to not Plasti Dip my frame, that is a lot of coats, it looks expensive, takes a long time to do, but most important of all I am sure that is going to add way too much weight to a road frame and I have only so much fat I can still lose to make up for the weight of an alu frame :)
Hannes Foulds it adds almost no weight and is insanely easy to apply. You only need a good 6 coats. And I hate cyclists that care about weight and such. Just shut up and ride your damn bike!!!
Weight matters, both that the rider and the bicycle if you are racing. But I will leave this topic to you experts, I clearly have no clue. I am not interested in this topic anymore as it has been quite a while but felt like you guys deserved a reply, and look forward to the pearls of wisdom you will drop next 😆
you are painting totally wrong..long continuous sprays...starting OFF the bike, and passing over it..sorry..i normally dont give my opinions on things like that as everyone does things differently..
Hi, Ive been watching your vids for a while now and you seem to be very knowledgeable on older cannondales. Would you happen to know how the delta v compares to the killer v in the cannondale line up? They seem to have both have the same frame.
This is the stuff that I will spray your bike with, if you give me the chance I will take it. That goes for all of you riding bicycle, "you have been warned!"
Plasti dip on a frame is the worst idea ever. Really bad ass looking however it will NOT last 1 day. Anything even slightly touches the frame will rip a hole right through this stuff. If you want to touch up 10 holes after every ride then this stuff is for you.
I use 3M 2091 filters in my respirator for paint projects. I never thought about using this on a bike though... interesting, now I kinda want to plastidip some stuff :D
I did this a couple years ago to my girlfriend's bike and it hasn't held up well. If I were to do it again I'd use regular spray paint and a lot of clear coat
Can you (or anyone that into this respraying thing) plz write me here in few words the process? I also quite confused with all the names of the matirials ...Why is there 2 kinds of Metalizer? PLASTI DIP Performix + Metalizer + Another Metalizer What does ant of them do ? And if possible - while write me down the short stages - add to each step the right spray Sorry...I really having difficulties with A lot of info' and when it not wrriten to me Thanks so much
You want at least six coats of plasti dip so that it will peel off easily when you want to remove it. Besides giving it a base to cover the original paint, black plasti dip is cheaper than the metal, chameleon, etc plasti dips.
Barry Bolo it’s $4-6 per normal can (black, white, orange, red, blue, green, etc) and $10-20 per specialty can (chameleon, color change, glow in the dark, etc).
I've had it on my car rims. About 2 years. But car rims are constantly exposed to the elements and get a lot more dirt and gravel thrown at them. Plus I parked my car outside and deal with salt during the winter.
@@tylerdukowitz8352 Rims avoid a lot of the direct rock chips. Bicycle undersides are constantly exposed to rock chips. Curious if the bottom would start to peel if anything.
Killer in German sounds great, but how you say that Kielar??? Totaly sweet! By the way; a refresh of the Old Design would be looking better than this ugly color. What a luck that this is Plasti dip =) next video do the peeling =P Please =/ !

A tip for easier removal of the chain protector film is to heat up with hair dryer or heat gun as heat softens the glue.
I thought you said you were saving the original paint? Sanding it off does the opposite.....plastidip will go over almost everything.

Am i the only one tha believes bikes look way better without all those stupid decals?
Did you sand over the “Cannondale” sticker to make it smooth? Or does the plastidip create a thick enough layer that it covers it all?
It certainly looks a lot better, so good job on that. Worried about the weight of paint. Whoa.

10 of 10 for the tutoriel, 10 of 10 for the instrumental. Thank You!
Nice job. Looks sweet.
What about power washing? Will plastidip hold that?
That looks amazing
you are painting totally wrong..long continuous sprays...starting OFF the bike, and passing over it..sorry..i normally dont give my opinions on things like that as everyone does things differently..
Now show us how to make stickers for it please

Sick Bike, from the Sickbiker!
what if i hit some tree branch, Is the rubber dip will come out ?
This is the stuff that I will spray your bike with, if you give me the chance I will take it. That goes for all of you riding bicycle, "you have been warned!"
Hi, I from Russia! Very good video
Heat gun on that chain stay guard would make short work of it.
Says he should wear a mask for protection of dangerous fumes… wears a mask that provides no protection against dangerous fumes LOL.

Yup, that's what I was thinking!
This isn't true. This stuff is amazing if applied correctly.
I personally don't like this Frame… the broken top tupe and the suspension just looks ugly in my opinion ^^
The XTR components look great though xD
Agree... This is one fugly bike
looking really good
Can you still decently wash a bike with this coating on? I can't imagine this staying on how I wash my bike ...
Yes
Nice but why don't you put Magura HS brakes on it
How many cans did u use?
That noise at 9:20 tho...
I use 3M 2091 filters in my respirator for paint projects.
I never thought about using this on a bike though... interesting, now I kinda want to plastidip some stuff :D
Aluminum Foil my pickup truck was factory 2 tone, well i painted half of it. Came out great
Looks good. I bet your finger was sore from all that spraying
How much weight does it add?
Does it rub of on you with use?
No not onto you
how durable is this ?
This is relevant to my interests. I see lots of alu cyclocross frames but the paintjob just turns me off bigtime
I did this a couple years ago to my girlfriend's bike and it hasn't held up well. If I were to do it again I'd use regular spray paint and a lot of clear coat
and the first bushes you pass the paint gets destroyed... ??
I used plastidip on the grill of a subaru that spend 4 years outside, ungaraged and used offroad. It never chipped nor scratched.
is anyones sound distorted?
"always work on well ventilated area"

Sorry...I really having difficulties with A lot of info' and when it not wrriten to me

thanks bud
it was better without the metalizer
do you recommend using a clear code on top of the plastic dip`?
Why start with black, then metal?

Cool!
Really interesting. 👍
Great job. 😉
what bike is that?
ua-cam.com/video/RaDjOznEKts/v-deo.html
Antonio Hernandez it’s a Toyota Prius
Killer v 900
I hate bar ends
Won't this add like a half kilo to a bike's weight?
John Smith that shouldn’t matter because it looks cool and makes you faster
Why would you leave the fork, headset cups and brake bosses on the frame? You could as well leave crankset....
How much did this cost
Barry Bolo it’s $4-6 per normal can (black, white, orange, red, blue, green, etc) and $10-20 per specialty can (chameleon, color change, glow in the dark, etc).

Waooooo muy bn
The music is ridiculous otherwise great video
Are you spanish? Your accent makes me doubt
He's Polish
Relevance of accent to presentation?
nice music
Czesc
Chameleon looks cheap
