Yeah, I was amazed to try it out. Once you get a few levels you become unstoppable. The only weak point is that you are stuck with 1 APR, but that can easily be fixed with Belm, Kundane and improved haste, which can bring you to 8 APR, which is insane for a class that wasn't supposed to be good at melee.
Thief + mage is kinda ideal funfactor in this game :) it has all the fun stuff you would want :) Im currently playing true legacy of baal mode with my self made mage kit.(Banshee). Really fun as well, but i seem to struggle with kangaxx xD but i guess i can wait. Went to destroy firecrag instead. He had no chance to Even become red xD My kit cannot wear: armor, helm, gloves or wepon of any kind. And has so nerfed taco that summons wepons will fail to hit. Instead she has: Custom wail of banshee, which has the albility to stun, misscast, slow and kill depending on level, with different saving throws, and crushing damage. Innate albility(2) Soul harvest (2) innate albility: Magic damage, level progressive as well. Silver dragon breath (single target piercing + blinding) Thunderbolt of death: Light + crushing + 5 second sleep. Frost Nova Decreased spellcasting time on some levels, and can choose it as a hla as well. Level 1-9 spell slot +1 hla Shapechange undead hla: Shapechange to: - Greater Ghast - Elder Vampire - Bone golem - Skeleton Warrior All has + 4 wepons, but Skeleton gains access to swap between two handed sword and bow, and also summons +2 arrows(acid, fire, electric) This albility will remove all protection spells and buff spells like haste etc. And the regular mage hla, with exclusion of extra lvl 7/8/9 spells.
Thief/Mage is indeed a very fun multiclass to play, I recommend it a lot. It sinergizes very well, especially later into the game. And you have many different tools at your disposal, so you can easily change your tactics for each encounter. That custom mage kit seems very powerful! Shapechange is a really great spell for it, since in some situations you may need to deal more physical damage.
@@ivellos yes, the gameplay of thief with backstab is really fun, and use all items hla allows you to enjoy all the cool stuff the game has to offer as well :) meanwhile mage is really fun as caster :) when playing alone, the progression is not so much slowed down due to multiclassing either, so you Get that good powerup-feeling as well xD I do have a fmt Skeleton kit. It’s ment for this situation. I kinda just put my favourit selfmade kit and merged then all into one xD I only play legacy of baal anyway :p That kit is: - Ninja assassin(assassin + swashbuckler combi, with a few invisible innates over the levels xD) - Fighter - Banshee/Mindflayee/Maleficent kitted mage Basicly means it can shapechange to both mindflayer and banshee, and then use those innate albilities, which increased and changes over the levels such as: Lesser Psinoic blast Psionic Blast Greater Psionic Blast Psisonic Brain crush Summon Umber Hulk Summon Mindflayer (Also gets a custom mindflayer wepon summoned in hands which progress at different levels) Banshee: Will then not be able to use melee attacks, but Get custom wail of banshee Soul harvest innate albilities, i think a added a low damage ranged staff/wand or smt. @@gel87Kjetil This kit appears to be God mode, lol. But then again, every high level mage in this game is basically that. I still have to do the "shapechange to mindflayer" trick though. I know it is pretty op, but I tend to use my level 9 slots for other spells. We are really spoilt for choice there
Is that Belm in your main hand? The +1 attack applies to your mainhand weapon, so you can have Belm in your off-hand and a stronger weapon in your main hand.
Yeah, that is Belm indeed. I was using both Belm and Kundane to get 2 extra APR, so my Thief/Mage would have a base APR of 4, going up to 8 with Improved Haste. That way I can deal a lot of damage with my basic attacks and kill most enemies really fast. But I always swap my main hand with the Short Sword of Mask +4 or the Daystar when the situation needs, as you can see in 3:45 and 4:50.
@@ivellosthere is a trick you can do in the game which is if you walk right next to walls you wont trigger the encounter which allows you to set traps near that lever thing in the north. Then after you plant traps you run back start the encounter and traps will insta kill the witch with staff of magi and beholder will soon die from poison xD. I usually do this level when i am level 12 thief (3 traps) for a lich protection from the undead baby and same for a vamp. Thieves are really broken in this game the traps + its literally pay to win class you can buy sword of mask, staff of striking, firetooth crossbow, staff of rhyn, ring of air control, potions etc... mixing thieves or fighters with other classes is the best they make other classes so much insane mage thief doing shapechange backstabs with mislead lol or bersereker mage.
@@greatdude7279 Oh, I didn't know there was a way to set traps in the room before triggering the encounter, good to know! Yeah, thieves can be really broken! I had a lot of fun using Mislead and Project Image combos in this playthrough :)
