He's my favorite guy on number phile
I agree :)
He and Ed Copeland. Both are Adorable!!!!
In year 2224, Tadashi's Church will be the only remaining church on earth, and we will live a golden age of happiness.
+The Gambler I wonder what a *gloden* age is... :P
+joelproko tadashi magically corrected the mistake.
+The Gambler praise be unto him
+Jimmy De'Souza Nah, it's easy. Just ask them what number comes after two.
Filip 'GenGariCZek' Kejnar Fitting, given how String Theory claims that reality consists of open and closed strings. String, ribbon, same difference :P
Tadashi's voice is more relaxing than any music.
I know, right.
Some of the topics are not really that interesting but I play these videos just to listen to his voice.
Most of these videos take some number concept already vaguely mystifying to me, and make them understandable.
Tadashi always takes the most inane everyday stuff I thought I understood and somehow makes them freaking magical. Soo genius.
I've been really enjoying these video's, but Pete's animations really make them great.
+Sverre Rabbelier Thank you!
agreed
Really lovely animation and music!
+Peg Y thanks!
+Numberphile My thoughts are the same and along with Tadashi's demo, it's a simulation that will stick with me. Nice work.
My mind is blown for every one of these videos
+KL Havoc that's good I think.
+Numberphile Oh yeah, definitely. Love Tadashi!
+Numberphile can we please have a Q&A with Takashi if he's cool with it?
??
Tadashi makes these videos. Never thought rubber bands, paperclips and ribbons would be so captivating.
Perhaps there might be a philosophical analogy to this with regards to how our world works, where many aspects of our world are unlinked to any other specific aspect, but when they are all simulataneously present, everything is linked together.
+Physics Videos by Eugene Khutoryansky That so cliche and cheesy... at least try to be original...
you are everywhere Eugene! Love your video's though!
+TheWise Owl are you hetero
Love your videos
You'd be correct in that regard since Lacan spoke about the three psychoanalytic orders (the Real, the Imaginary and the Symbolic) and illustrated their interconnectedness using Borromean Rings.
Tokieda, Parker and Grime. That's all we need!
+Wihnu I hope Edward Frenkel can join.
Dont forget Cliff Stoll, the klein bottle man! How can you live without his entausiasm
+Wihnu They're all great. The more, the merrier. I'm not gonna say no to literal Fields medalists explaining me maths :D
And Tony Padilla instead of Parker of course. And I forgot passionate Moriarti. I admire his enthusiasm sp much.
+Wihnu Let's not forget about Simon Pampena and David Eisenbud. :)
chill maths best maths
cool maths better maths
Took me 30 seconds to realize this video isn't dubbed over. His voice is just very powerful
This guy is just awesome. His voice is just one that's made for explaining stuff.
just realized 'Tadashi toys' could be a name of adult store😂
+smileyourock You got any of them *cough* borromean *cough* links?
+Richard Aasa (Ziggy) *cough* *cough* do you need pink or blue ones? *cough cough*
I have said this so many times, but tadashi senpai's voice is sooooo soothing
FOOT GUY!
The animation was pretty useful in this episode. Tadashi showed us how it works just fine, but the extra visual aid at a slower speed really made it basically impossible to not understand it.
I need more Tadashi
+superj1e2z6 We all do... :
+superj1e2z6 Your profile picture looks almost like a naked woman's body.
Anastasia Dunbar I just noticed that too ! :o
Hey who needs drugs when you've got a blue ribbon, a red ribbon, and Mr. Tokieda.
I feel like this channel is very focused on Tadashi videos lately.
Not that I'm complaining.
+ChronusZed we have a nice batch from a week with Tadashi.
+Numberphile We or I?
Tadashi is already one of my favorite presenters
very hypnotizing animation! think I'll loop it
"This is very meditative." Would've been kind of funny if the rest of the video had just been that clip and corresponding animation with the music. XD
+NoriMori
I laughed at that part, so I think it managed to be funny, even if it wasn't intended. Mostly because of the music.
+R3Testa Oh, it was definitely funny. It just would've been _really_ funny if that had been all of the rest of the video. XD
+NoriMori You could loop that, with a half-twist..
+Doug Gwyn Har har. :P
very satisfying and logical once you can vision it
Tadashi Tokieda never Parker Squares, he ribbonses.
I bet Tadashi is fun at parties. He's got all sorts of fun demonstrations.
Thank you Pete, I am a visual person and is much easier for me to understand something that I can visualize. Your animations really improve the whole video.
I like the happy guy under the cherry tree !! Thanks
Tadashi presents the most fascinating stuff on Numberphile.
Parker squares, sets and ribbons are unlinked if you look at them pairwise, but they are mutually linked through the borromean ring of this numberphile channel.
This man is literally ASMR
The animation on these videos is so neat and soothing.
A brilliant use of practical effects to explain advanced concepts. Tadashi approaches these problem with you to explain that while they may seem complex at first in best Tadashi voice " they are really quite simple and logical you see"
At 0:37, I was like "Huh?", so I rewound it a bunch of times, but it didn't actually make sense to me until I got to the animated part, lol.
What a coincident, this trick was used in a very recent episode of Conan(Case Closed).
CAN YOU *KNOT* DO THIS TO MY BRAIN
+Tarmo Pungas IM GETTING LOOPY
+Tarmo Pungas I see what you did here
What you did there, I seen it
+Tarmo Pungas
Do you live in the Arctic?
Because ICY what you did there!
Pokedel Asel That was so lame :
Ahhhh, I love Tadashi. He always gives such calm and easy to understand explanations.
Many of my favorite Numberphile videos are the ones featuring Tadashi Tokieda. I like his fascination with the curious mathematical concepts underlying simple objects.
Keep the Tadashi Tokeida videos coming! He is one of my favorites!
He's taking over the channel from Grime and Parker 8D
Another fantastic video!
I'm fascinated by tensors, thus, I'm greatly waiting for a video on the same! Thank you Numberphile!
liked before I even watched the video. Could watch and listen to Tadashi forever!
The animations for this series are spot on.
I love this guy! Also, the animations were fantastic!
0:35 - The way he goes "Hnh?!", and the animation they put with it, makes me crack up.
Got myself two loops and am now doing this... feels great!
Nicely animated
I literally only watch the vids with this dude cause his voice is really relaxing to just listen to, got that Morgan freeman action
Oh, I expected a bit more, but okay xD
+Pengin just a quick one today!
Oh, no problem, was just wondering xD
+Numberphile You Parker-squared those loops a bit.
+Pengin There is a German proverb: In der Kürze liegt die Würze. In English (approximately): The shorter, the more delicious/ Being short, but a great relish :D
+Gerhard Stock In the shortness is the seasoning. Or, as we would say in English, "Brevity is the soul of wit."
Hooray! More Dr. Tokieda!
Very interesting. I would like to see stuff about this specifically. Simplest possible objects that require more parts than you would expect. I wonder if there is a way to do that with 5 or 7. For some reason it seems easier to imagine odds but an even better question would be if it could be done with even numbers as well.
When he casually switched the ribbons I was so mind blown!!!
I want a video every day from Tadashi.
Black magic I'd say
+Killatunga Dat's racist
+creepyto I know, right? He's clearly yellow.
***** Dat's waisis
yellow magic
MORE MORE I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!
So, are there more than one Borromean links, or are all Borromean links identical, in a topological sense?
Who works on the visuals??? They're always so spot on on whatever's being talked about.
Fascinating.
Tadashi starts to write out a mathematical equation. Suddenly, soothing music plays as his writing is shown on a repeating loop in slow motion. Animated cherry petals fly by as a stick figure meditates to the soft sound of the pencil on paper.
Nothing I find is a better resource for maths than this
This was the very first "magic trick" I ever learnt from a children's book about magic tricks.
That's a really satisfying animation.
More of Tadashi! True goodness.
Thank you mr Tokieda!
I love this videos so much ^o^
Saw Prof Tokieda walking around my school, UCLA, the other day. wish I could have said hi, but he looked busy. :(
beautiful.
So things can be linked even if they are not touching? That's pretty deep for a Friday...
nice animation
Really beautiful and satisfying ^^
That might be the most interesting representation of the Brunnian property I've seen.
I really like these tadashi's toys episodes. they're different
I had a choice between Tadashi and Sausage Party new trailer. I choose Tadashi undoubtedly.
The trailer is great and the movie looks amazing hahahaha
when i was in middle school we used to make these knots with rubber bands to make a cool looking bracelet!
When the music started, I looked at my taskbar to find the Minecraft window I had closed a few hours ago.
I love these things. Part parlor tricks, part interesting mathematics or whatever(tm).
I'm very hypnotized by this somehow.
Why is this is relaxing xD
In addition to being very informative, I find Tadashi just pleasant to listen to, much like Computerphile's Prof. Brailsford.
Its quite a common topology where pink and blue ribbon forms a torus and it keeps rotating.
A minute in and I'm already "What is this sorcery?!"
Zen moment nabbed my like, hilarious.
Very meditative indeed =u=
this guy is the best
Awesome video! I love borromean link (I could make a joke about Zelda). There's also a really cool borromean-related thing to do with paper: there is way in which you can take a long piece of paper with two slots and make braid out of it (even though both ends are together)

How can you make a joke about Zelda without mentioning Serpinski's Triforce?
+angeldude101 Hahahaha I've had enough bad maths jokes for today xD
+angeldude101 let's talk in three hours from now (it's 9 pm in here)
half the video is just the animation loop and calming music
Tadashi FTW!
Satisfaction level 100.'👌🏼
Anyone else was reminded of the Cat from the Red Dwarf? You know "You can hold it like this, but the really amazing thing is when they switch places" (a bit of paraphrasing but whatevs right?) Just watch the very beginning again.
that is one pretty library.
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Felt like Po in Kung Fu Panda 2, learning inner peace and Borromean Ribbons.
Tadashi is here
laughed at the zen music. thanks. :-)
Make a new channel only for Tadashi
The zen thing is kinda cool :)
this is real magic!
Is there a 10 hour loop already?
Tadashi is my spirit animal
This guy can read the phone book and I'd most likely achieve nirvana. What a voice.
