Super interesting to watch you slurping those springy noodles. Yeah, MEE KOLOK, a specialty of Kuching, Sarawak. A trip to Sarawak is incomplete if one doesn't taste it. Wow, it's very generous of the boss to offer you 2 types of drinks for free. FYI Chu, we used "Hao Zhi" for food and "Hao Her" for drinks.

Actually mee kolok is the Malay version of original Chinese kolok mee of Sarawak. Among the Chinese community, we call it kolok mee or kolo mee. The Malay version is mee kolok which is darker in colour and also tastes sweeter because dark soy sauce is added but they use the same type of mee.

There are some more delicacies at Sibu town - mee kampua, kompia, dian bian hu, kuew tiao tomato, fried noodles etc...
tips for you :
some food acquired a taste - avoid if youre not adventurous enough with food
some food fits every taste buds - for example; Kolo mee, Laksa sarawak, Kampua and kompia (originated from sibu), Pansuh, kek lapis, icecream gula apong and the list goes on.
