Omggggg both places looks amazing and I am sooo happy I found your page since I'll be in Hawaii in 3 weeks I have been binge watching and taking notes on where to go eat both places are within 12 min walk from where I will be staying.. I love and adore you guys.. Please keep going and don't stop..

I know you guys already tried Ocean Taste in your Ohana Hale video but you guys should try their torched ahi bowl. They are a must try in my opinion. They just re-opened today at their new location in Kapiolani Blvd.

Maguro brothers is my favorite in the area! With extra ikura and uni ... 🤤 As you said, a little pricy but so worth it.

I have never had a poke bowl before, purely because I’m not a big fan of raw fish but I’d love to try it one day. All the ones you both had looked amazing! Very fresh and vibrant
Raw fish isn’t for everyone, both our moms don’t eat raw fish! There are some poke that are not raw fish like tako (or octopus) or tofu poke that’s also really good! Mahalo for watching🤙🏻

Thank you for your foodie advice ! My wife and I came from Maryland and visited Oahu last week. The first place we tried was Sato Seafood then later Maguro Brothers. We tried several other poke places too. Each is good in its own way. Thank you for guiding us on the poke path. Keep up the great work. Hope to meet you one day ! Tell me if you ever come to Maryland and I will take you out for blue crabs.
Just got back from Hawaii a few weeks ago, and this makes us already miss it so much! Didn't get to try either of these places, so thank you for showcasing them and making us feel like we are back in Waikiki, even if just for a moment!

Thank you, Amanda and Felix. This is the type of local eats that I wish I knew when I was there. I'm keeping this in mind for when we are back on Oahu. When we were there, we discovered a hole-in-the-wall place in Waikiki called Burgers and Sushi, and they had amazing poke as well, which caused us to go back and ordered from there several times. It's not the fanciest place, but we love hidden local joints like this. - Zeke.

I like Maguro Bros., too, mainly because they offer the sushi rice for the poke bowl. Fish is always fresh! At 14:10, the paper spoon reminds me of small kid time when you had the Meadow Gold cup ice cream. If you did not have a spoon, you just take the paper lid, fold it in half, and instant "scoop!"
Totally forgot doing that as a kid! How nostalgic!
Hey Amanda and Felix! This was a great video. The poke looked awesome. But what brought back memories for me is when Amanda mentioned the Donburi. I used to love to eat Oyako Donburi all the time when we lived in Hawaii. Fortunately for us we have a store here in Virginia, Wegman's, where we can get different kinds of sushi. It will never be as good as Hawaii but it has to do. Thanks again for a great video. Aloha for now. 💙🤙

Mac nuts are kukui nut family which is inamona {properly I spell it wrong[dumb Hawaiian]} a costly spice or enhancer to your fish. Mac nuts need to be eaten as served cause Mac nut will often lose their crunch and seem stall mixed in your fish or left to "marinated". But as a topping must be WOW. ENJOY...

Hi Laurie! Your sister is right, they announced that they will no longer be selling their pies to retailers and will only sell out of their NS location😰 Hopefully one day they'll go back to selling in stores.
Don Quiote on Kaheka Street sells Ted's pies in their bakery section. That's the closest place to Waikiki that I know of.
I wonder if the salmon you got at Sato was silver salmon....it's the mildest of all the salmon varieties and, frankly, my favorite.

You should pack resuable chopsticks in your huge pack so you can stop using disposable wood/bamboo chopsticks
My grandfather & his siblings were fishermen & fisherwomen. Fresh Ahi & Aku will taste fishy on the day it's cut up. The fishiness taste tones down the next day.
love to see you guys try all the great food of hawaii. i suggest you carry your own utensils like folks do in japan. be environmentally conscious and carry your own utensils!

Maguro Brothers is our favorite takeout restaurant in Waikiki by far. We always get there several minutes before they open to avoid the line.

Poke bowls...From ABC?!...Sounds oxymoronic, to me!-lol....Never had Sato Seafood & last time went to Maguro Bros.(8/2021) prices were up around $40-$50/lbs!-YIKES!...Being part-Pake, would much rather sampling Nico's, Tamashiro's or Poke On Da Run....
Prices aren't as high as that anymore but still pretty good for the quality 👍
