    This also works for putting Marvel Legends style hands on figures from other lines and various other joints. I recently used this to fix a Caliban BAF leg. The socket was defective/misshaped, so evened up the socket with my dremel and installed a large o-ring around the top... and that did the trick.

      Thank you very much! After learning this I've gone back to some of my previous customs, and added o-rings to those with resin heads that needed them.

    For this, I will like good sir. I hated using hot glue to fit my heads. THIS idea just retired that inconvenience. Thank you for this video. Most useful custom video I've seen in a while

      Glad I could help. I've used the hot glue method in the past it was a pain, but once I figured this out I'll never do that again.

    Holly $@%$# This is going to make my custom Figma so much easier to work on.
    I found Red O-Rings as well, which is very good for my project.
    Thank you for sharing this awesome technique!

    Here's my tip technique to not have so many dust debris flying around. I put a container/tubberware about 10x12 or something, fill it up about an inch of water with a drop of dish soap (mixed). Then use dremel over it, this helps with the debris falling down and the soap drags it down into the water. Just make sure you don't drop the dremel.

      That's a great idea! I'll have to try that sometime.

    what size and or type of O-rings ?

    • @CollectorExpress
      @CollectorExpress  3 роки тому +2

      I can't remember the exact sized that I used here, but it was in this O-ring assortment kit on Amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050JOJMQ/ I recently just ordered another kit. It has just about every size that you would ever need for $7.38. I hope that this helps.

    Could you tell the name of the drill bits used in this video?

    • @CollectorExpress
      @CollectorExpress  2 роки тому

      It's a drill bit that came with a pack of dremel tool bits. I couldn't really tell you anymore about it.

    Wondering if this idea would work for 1/18 scale. Gonna have to look at o ring sizes and check it out. Good idea here though!!!

    • @rubensandoval8528
      @rubensandoval8528 2 роки тому

      Are you shaving off some of the o ring there? Gonna replay to when you finished the original hole to see...smh

    • @CollectorExpress
      @CollectorExpress  2 роки тому +2

      This a very versatile technique. I've used it to install marvel legends hands on DCUC figures by installing o-rings into the forearms of the DC figures.

      @@CollectorExpress ...yea...ima have to look at the peg sizes for the heads on the 3.75 line (they vary but only about 3-4 different sizes maybe?). Then will checkout good ol Amazon to see if they have those sizes only (hate getting the assorted if I'm only gonna uses 3 or 4 of em, if that makes sense). Then will have to look into getting that/those size dremmel bits to fit em in. Anyway you can direct me to those specific flat headed type bits for the dremmel?

    I bought a resin head offline but it's too hollow for the figure I want to mount it on , what do you recommend I fill in the head with to get a solid fitment?

    • @CollectorExpress
      @CollectorExpress  2 роки тому +1

      What I've done with those type of heads is glue several o-rings in a stack to fit it to the figure, and then use AVES FIXIT Sculpt to fill in the sides and reinforce the o-rings.

    Looks like a lot of work, but also looks like its definitely worth it!

    • @CollectorExpress
      @CollectorExpress  3 роки тому +3

      On this one it was a bit of work, but if you have a casting or factory head that doesn't require as much clean up it's not that bad. I may end up doing a follow up video using a head that doesn't require as much work to get to the o-ring installation part.
