I just turned 18 and I’m going to Italy for two weeks next Friday :O I’m super exited and I’m going alone so it should be fun to get to know new people!
It's also great to rent a car in Italy! We've done it, and we're going to do it again this month. You have your freedom, roads are great, it's not even that expensive at all. And no stressing about train schedules and carrying your luggage everywhere
Yup! I don't recommend having them in the major cities though. Parking is tough and expensive, plus navigating through cities can be very hard (or expensive, like in Florence, you need a permit)
Very good advice.. I suggest that if you want to see beautiful islands an beaches to take a trip to Sicily or Sardinia, and Bari, in the Apulia (Puglia) region has beautiful beaches, full of rock in contrast to sand. Overall our country is so beautiful and everyone should be able to enjoy it
We're going to Italia! We're going to gardaland (i think i spelled it wrong :D) It's gonna be the coolest thing in my life! By 20:00 we'll be in the bus!
Off to Europe next week. Will just be hitting up Florence and Rome for my first eurotrip. Will no doubt be keen to go back and explore Italy in more detail in the future. Learning basics of each country is something I like to do. Locals always appreciate it and you can even make friends ;) For my trip I am learning basic French, Italian, German, Czech and Ukrainian. Seemed a bit overwhelming at first but I understand subtleties of each language now.
I enjoyed watching your video. My family and I recently got back from a 3 week vacation in Europe where we spent time in Rome exploring the sites. It was amazing. We can't wait to go back!
im going to italy this july to visit my aunt and some cousins, im so exited to meet them! i plan on staying with my aunt (im a minor, im also going alone) who lives in Tuskany
Me and my wife are finally going to italy this summer. Originally we were set to go for our honeymoon in June of 2020, but the trip was postponed due to covid. We got credit for our tickets though which have to be used by the end of the year so we are making our reservations now for mid summer. We will be going to Rome and Florence.
I am going to Paris Venice Florence ^& Rome in June-July. I am full blooded Italian but have no Italian language skills. I have been studying Spanish for awhile. It seems similar different pronunciation. I imagine it will be hot in the months I will be there. Can I bring a jacket to put on to enter the churches. Do I need sleeves and longer length in Restaurants and museums.
I'm coming to Trento for 5 months from Feb-July. Definitely intend to visit Florence, Venice, Padua, Rome, Milan, etc. Thanks for your insightful video! :D
Man of you're coming to the Southern italy in this period you Will find SOOOOO MUCH snow. It's cool but it's alzo causing many problema because Southern italy hasn't had that much snow in so many years
Can't imagine eating dinner at 9 or 10pm... I'm already asleep by that time normally lol. My husband and I want to travel to Italy next year, hopefully we can adjust to things like that! Not having to wake up before sunrise for insane American work hours will help I'm sure.
About Taxis and stuff, it's not because the Taxi system is complicated, it's because it is not developed AT ALL. In italy it's much more common to take buses. So if you Wanna travel around you buy a ticket in a newsstand/cafe (they usually sell them) and take the bus (if you find the right bus driver you can also buy a ticket from him, but be careful because of they catch you with no ticket you Will have to pay like 50€). Trust me, I Know it because i'm italian :)
Im visiting relatives in Calabria, and Battipaglia, Italy♥️♥️ I can’t wait! Im trying to learn phrases through Rosetta Stone, it’s similar to Spanish, so that helps since I took three courses of Spanish!
I am returning to Italy Oct. 2017. I love Florence, Tuscany and the hill towns. Bringing two first timers into Rome for 3 days, then renting a Fiat to explore Tuscany for 6 days, Staying on a farm, hoping to harvest olives at the end of the month. I want to live there in a few years. Will be looking to rent first. I so love ITALY!
those are quite far for day trips! I would recommend reducing the amount of day trips and instead doing a couple days in Florence and maybe a couple days in Naples. Have a great trip!
Vado in Italia a Roma, Toscana, Chianti e Cinque Terre. Your advice was excellent and I'm prepared, including enough Italian to meet people and make friends. Ritorno in Italia dopo di quarant'anni.
Had a great 10 days in Florence. Did a museums-art gallery-churches-palaces marathon during that time, eating only street food (Lampredotto!), walking up to Piazzale Michelangelo spending hours there, and waiting 4 hours for the sun to set and lights to come on at the Ponte Vecchio. Only disappointment is that there seem to be only a handful of buildings with Sgraffito facades there - Sgraffito being a popular wall-decor technique during the Renaissance.
I really loved your video! Very stylish if I may say. I went to Rome earlier this year and it was fantastic!!! I will be coming back to Italy this spring to visit Venice because it is my favorite city on this planet. Cheers!!
My wife and I are comming to Italy in late June thru early July. we will be in the Toscana area going to Pisa and Florence and planing wondering the smal towns all around that area. We will also be up and down the west coast.
I'm going to Italy with my family to spend 10 days on monday, I'm very exited because it was quite a while since the last time I was there and I'm looking forward to seeing some interesting buildings, locations, etc.
Hey there! I'm going for a 13 day trip to Italy and the places I'm visiting are Milan, Bologna( from there I intend to go to Florence, Venice and Pisa on day tours, but I don't know how to travel to those places. By bus, car, or train?), then Naples and Rome finally!! I can't wait!! 😊😊
In three weeks I’ll be going to Rome, Naples, Monopoli, Bari, Termoli, Predappio, Venice, Verona, Cantu, Milan, Novara, Pisa, and Florence.. Florence will be my last stop! Oh and will also drive up to Lugano, Switzerland while in Cantu 😁 .. thanks for sharing these tips!! What are some good restaurants where I can eat with the locals and get some good authentic food and wine from the region.. ? in Florence
Thank you so much for the video, very Informational. I am definitely interested in visiting Florence. Do they have a Dante museum/memorial/ monument? I am going there next summer 2019.
Hi Love and London Planning a trip to Italy but confused which place to put on my list Every place seems very good to visit :-D have 2 weeks time for the travel !!
I'm going to Florence in a couple of months!! Do you have a video or advice on the best places to eat great cheap food? Or what are the mush see locations ? Thank you so much loved your video! Short but yet full of information
My wife and I live in Las Vegas never been out of country 25th year anniversary we've always wanted to go to the amalfi coast so we're looking at Rome Florence and the amalfi coast
If you want, you can visit the south of Italy. I live in Puglia( is a region) and everyday i can find new views to visit and new local foods to taste. There is an amazing seaside similar to Carribea. I think that is a nice place to visit. I'm sorry for my English, i'm not very good :)
I am going to Rome with my wife & daughter in September. It is our first time to go there. Can you give us some tips on how we can enjoy our vacation more. We also plan to visit Florence & Venice in this trip. Thanks
Hey thanks, this is a really nice kickstarter video to visiting Italy. Would be visiting Venice, Florence and Rome with day trips to Cinque Terre, Pisa and Tuscany region. Also looking to see if I can squeeze in Pompeii. Looking to explore the countryside and local culture more than the touristy destinations. Any tips on that, specially Florence and around?
Pranay Krishnan Pompei and Ercolano are the best places to explore in italy. A real miracle of history that you don't find in other places in whole world! I suggest you to visit them.
I've been wanting to go there for years (at least 5) and In 3,5 months I'm flying *jumps from excitement*. First I'll be in Rome, because I want to go to Rainbow Magicland. Then I'm going to go to Sardegna and stay there for half a week, after that Sicilia for a week (because every boat that fits my plans only leaves on friday) and then the last days will be in Napoli from where I want to visit Pompeii. Still planning what exactly I want to do, but the entire trip, meaning travel and hotels, is planned since the beginning of december. I am so enormously exited! =D Anche, io imparo italiano e posso parlare la lingua passabile. Credo che non sarà una problema.
I didn't find that to be the case about shops and places closing. Just saying...Also, I was there in September and was in the water in the Cinque Terre swimming with the Nonas. Not too cold. Wonderful place to be though. Loved it all.
Your video was great and very informative! My cousin and I are visiting Italy for the first time next month, June 18 - 28! We'll be in the Florence area June 18-21, taking the Italo train to Rome (Jun 21-24), then heading to Positano Jun 24-28 (frecce train & shuttle). Then we're heading to London Jun 28 - July 1. Do you have a vlog with any recommendations for authentic restaurants or places to explore in Florence? We've already booked day trips for the best of Tuscany tour and the Cinque Terre Trek... but we're staying in a B&B near the SMN train station and Florence and plan to explore the area the day we arrive and the morning before we leave. We've been learning basic Italian too... sooo excited!
Ah have a great visit! I will have some Florence videos next month but they might not be published until after you've been. Read my blog post: loveandlondon.com/7-must-do-things-with-48-hours-in-florence/ That's a good start!
Hi... I am going to Venice and Florence beginning of September, for just one week. I am a little bit overwhelme...not sure if we should visit any vineyard or or just stay in the city. Also what to wear 🤔 . I shouldn’t bring short? I am imagining wear a confortable shoes since we’ll be walking a lot.
Ciao!! My 18yr old daughter will be studying in Florence for 5 weeks Jun-July '18 w 3 class mates from the states. As intelligent as she may be, Im extremely worried about their worldly skills lol with that being said could you give me any advice (on anything you feel might be important) as well as what THEY feel is important......bar, clubs, weekend trips to fun cities, hostels & traveling to other European cities like Paris or Barcelona. I know this is A LOT to ask but i really appreciate your informative, honest videos & feel they are spot on. Regards, Marie in Jersey
Hey Marie, I worked with study abroad students a lot when I lived in Italy. It's a very "easy" place to study abroad in. And you should be making her do all of the research, not doing it yourself! That's a huge part of her experience abroad (and the learning she will get from it.)
I'm coming to Florence on September's first week. I've been watching some videos on what to where in Italy and, even though I'm from Portugal and we have similar fashion, I don't really understand that "no shorts" kind of rule. I mean... summer is the season to wear shorts (denim shorts, lace shorts, etc) and we wear it all the time here, even at the big cities like Lisbon. What do you think about that? I'm subscribing btw. Great video
Tamara Di Marco Ciao Tamara. Thank you very much. I thought it was really strange. We have similar fashion trends, so when I saw people saying "oh, no shorts" I was like WTF? I love Italy :D
We’re staying in Rome most of our 8 days this coming middle of August ,but we’re planing to go in Florence for 2days which part of Florence in city i book the hotel thanks

Had a great 10 days in Florence. I was thinking the same!
Have a great time :) Tag me in your Instagrams so I can see what you get up to!@Jess_inLondon

Ah have a great visit! I will have some Florence videos next month but they might not be published until after you've been. Read my blog post: loveandlondon.com/7-must-do-things-with-48-hours-in-florence/ That's a good start!
Love and London grazie! 😊
I’m going to Capri in April for 5 days, and Rome for 2.
How many times have you been in Italy?
I've only been there in 2011. I miss it so much!
+Broken Nose I lived there for a year and have been about 6 other times too! :)
Great video
I think I totally get it because I am very used to wearing shorts in the summer too! :)
Adriana Vieira Hi! I am Italian and I can tell you that in the summer most of us wear shorts.
Tamara Di Marco Ciao Tamara. Thank you very much. I thought it was really strange. We have similar fashion trends, so when I saw people saying "oh, no shorts" I was like WTF?
I love Italy :D
Thank you for your video🤩
We’re staying in Rome most of our 8 days this coming middle of August ,but we’re planing to go in Florence for 2days which part of Florence in city i book the hotel thanks
I'm going to Florence, since you are lived there do you have any helpful tips specific to that city? 😊
