The fact Law learned how to use his awakening to replicate Corazon devil fruit ability is such a beautiful touch bc the fruit was given to him by cora to live and that ability saved his life so he learning it,its so well thought,also how quite the sequence was after silence was a nice touch by toei too
idk if it was the same ability. But in his mind he thought of the similarity. it's kind of like using his shockwave ability, this time with sound waves, it's like noise cancelling headphones lol. It's a pretty direct leap in his evolution I think. What's neat is they tried to drop Big Mom in the ocean before, and her calling out to Prometheus, etc was what saved her. So, it was useful this time, not only to stop her Soul Pocus ability, but also to stop her calling out to her weapons (servants? idk what to call them) as she does in the end here.

Truly a legendary moment, the first time a yonko has been defeated after whitebeard. The animation is nuts, Kidd and Law are extremely impressive being able achieve a feat like this.
Man big mom got nerfed it's just oda eliminating her cos he doesn't have the time to have a propre arc around her defeat. Without plot armor kid and law could never defeat a yonko at full health just after having been defeated by another yonko

The lack of music during this scene was such a cool way to represent the unnerving nature of absolute silence. Law’s technique seems minor compared to damned punk but it saved the day.
Law's been doing most of the damage anyway. His internal damage attacks were the only way to bypass BM's defense and allow Kidd to cause major impacts.
Law using Silence got me so emotional. When Corazon first demonstrated his devil fruit ability to Law, Law called it lame and thought it was useless. But it was because of Corazon's devil fruit abilty that Law is still alive, and seeing him replicate Corazon's Silence to help take down Big Mom and remembering Corazon really brought a tear in my eye 🥲
Fun fact, if you look closely the impact frame at 0:48 literally reads “smoking on that Big mom pack” this literally shows how animators are really dedicated to their work

I like that law's awakening is him being able to move his room freely. He coats his sword with it for willie and here he used it mainly to cover big mom for silence. It's such a versatile fruit and i assume the life operation would use a similar type of use
I really like that they Law and Kid this win. Big Mom was such a great villain and the fact Oda was able to write such a good fight without any of the Straw Hats being involved goes to show Oda could make reading a phone book feel exciting. The animation was also beautiful, bravo to the animation team 👏🏻

It mirrors back to what happened to Big Mom’s “mama” back in the day. Essentially she lost her “mom” and then tried to make her version of the world so it wouldn’t happen again and everyone could live in peace. But her self-centered and angry nature were her undoing because she made too many enemies. Ultimately, she ended up doing it again, because now her 85 kids have lost their mom now.

This was a bittersweet moment in a way when big mom was defeated - she was in the series so long and had overcome many situations that should have been her death that when we finally see this move that defeated her we’re stunned
A part of me is thinking that it's nice that Big Mom sort of got a humanizing moment before her death. In many ways she was a monster, just as irredeemable as any other villain of One Piece. But we got a surprising amount of her backstory and it's hard not to feel just a little bit bad for her. The other part of me is thinking Yo Mama so FAT that as soon as she fell off of Onigashima, Momonosuke was able to pull it twice as fast!!!

The humming noise you hear when Law is using room is one of my favorite things in the series, especially when it's at the end of some monumental action and it's almost pure silence save for the hum.
one thing that i found interesting was that when she was about to die, she never once thought about her kids like a actual mom would. none of her children at all was present during her final thoughts. really shows how she never really cared about her kids and only thought of them as pawns to strengthen her pirating career

In this scene, Law just saved the life of everyone who was afraid of Big Mom, and made all her power void (his technique is super effective against her). It's kind of sad that Big mom doesn't understand why her creations didn't come to rescue her. It's not because Law defeated them (does anyone believe that Law's sword is more powerful than Zoro's?), it's because they were not ordered to save her. She probably believes her children and creations care about her. It was a good ending for her if you ask me (even if she is alive, she has a lot to reflect upon).
not true bro. cause remember the first time she was knocked off onigashima when law used a boulder to knock her off, she fell and wasnt calling out to them to save her just yet. as she was falling she was far away for prometheus to hear her, it was his own choice along with napoleon to rescue mama due to them being loyal when she was underwater calling for prometheus no one can hear your voice if ur underwater so it was never about silence. even in wholecake when jinbe punched mama of the ship nearly into the sea zeus rescued her of his own choice not because mama had called him. the reason in this case why hera or prometheus didnt save her was because misery was biseceted in half, now im not sure if hera or prometheus are dead, napoleon just randomly vanished cause law didnt cut him rather misery so napoleon for some reason just isnt there i can understand if hera and prometheus are killed but napoleon a sword shouldnt be. So no they are very loyal to big mom its just that law interrupted misery from trying to save mama.
1:02 one of the best finish moments. The way Hera screams for mother makes me shiver as both she and big mom seek each other's help but neither can get it. Almost anyone would be scared and desperate in a moment like this, and even a Yonko and her antropomorphized powers both only want to be helped by each other. But they can't help each other, they are both hard focused and cornered. I almost feel bad for both BM and Hera. Law and Kid executed this perfectly, nor BM or Hera had, at this point, any hope left but they both still, in a very human way, ask, scream or desire to be helped.
Remember folks; Law and Kid challenged Kaido, but they defeated Big Mom. Luffy challenged Big Mom, but he defeated Kaido. Oda just mixing dem ingredients :P
Absolutely insane animation. The animator even spells out "Punk" in a skull followed by "Smoking on dat Big Mom Pack" in the flames, all in the impact frames at 0:48
Luffy's victory over Kaido is clear, that of Law and Kid is the result of a ruse, in fact, in the following clashes Kid is humiliated by Red and Law flees from Blackbeard.
It’s crazy that the animators wrote “smokin on dat mom pack” in Kid’s Damned Punk. They really violated her 😂. It’s around 46 seconds when Kid’s shot turns orange for like a frame.
If you go to 00:47 at .25 speed and pause at the exact moment kids blast turns the screen into a orange flame, there's words in the fire that read out " Smoking on dat Big Mom pack"
I've always loved one piece and this fight is just another reason why. Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid really mean business in battle. Unpredictable battle styles but they're strong. This is an iconic fight for many to remember. The fact that a yonko was defeated means a lot. Underrated characters Law and Kid are. Loads of respect to them. They're just like Luffy when it comes to fights. Taking beatings, but resilience allows them to hit back stronger. Unreal fight. One of the best this show has produced hands down.

Fantastic fight, but I didn't like the fact that Big Mom never used conqueror's haki infused attacks (like against Paige One) and relied basically only on her devil fruit abilities. Law and Kid never stood a chance if she started fighting like that (like she fought Kaido, before the alliance) because to counter conqueror's haki infused strikes, you need to be able to do the same.
Only Law could make something that was supposed to bring comfort into something horrifying. Big Mom, the narcissist that she is, not being able to hear herself? Poetic.
a minute of silence, for one of the strongest characters in all of one piece. Her defeat was epic, intelligent, emotional, I'm still thinking that if they lowered her power, but hey.
Oda made this arc epic for literally almost everyone. Even the supernovas had a lot of time to shine. Elbaf can't come fast enough if it's supposed to be Usopp's arc....

One Piece is SO God tier that even after ALL that, while Big Mom was falling, when it started showing her flashbacks and her life flashing before her eyes and what she started saying about Roger and how he made her journey for the One Piece much harder, you started to feel a little bad for her. Not being able to call Prometheus and Zera while falling in complete silence till exploding into the lava was epic and kinda sad.
This whole fight was so satisfying, and it was so so cool to see Law go all out like that! He's a freaking beast!! I really hope he becomes an emperor one day, he deserves it!

In this scene, Law just saved the life of everyone who was afraid of Big Mom, and made all her power void (his technique is super effective against her). It's kind of sad that Big mom doesn't understand why her creations didn't come to rescue her. It's not because Law defeated them (does anyone believe that Law's sword is more powerful than Zoro's?), it's because they were not ordered to save her. She probably believes her children and creations care about her. It was a good ending for her if you ask me (even if she is alive, she has a lot to reflect upon).
not true bro. cause remember the first time she was knocked off onigashima when law used a boulder to knock her off, she fell and wasnt calling out to them to save her just yet. as she was falling she was far away for prometheus to hear her, it was his own choice along with napoleon to rescue mama due to them being loyal when she was underwater calling for prometheus no one can hear your voice if ur underwater so it was never about silence. even in wholecake when jinbe punched mama of the ship nearly into the sea zeus rescued her of his own choice not because mama had called him. the reason in this case why hera or prometheus didnt save her was because misery was biseceted in half, now im not sure if hera or prometheus are dead, napoleon just randomly vanished cause law didnt cut him rather misery so napoleon for some reason just isnt there i can understand if hera and prometheus are killed but napoleon a sword shouldnt be. So no they are very loyal to big mom its just that law interrupted misery from trying to save mama.

1:02 one of the best finish moments. The way Hera screams for mother makes me shiver as both she and big mom seek each other's help but neither can get it. Almost anyone would be scared and desperate in a moment like this, and even a Yonko and her antropomorphized powers both only want to be helped by each other.
But they can't help each other, they are both hard focused and cornered. I almost feel bad for both BM and Hera.
Law and Kid executed this perfectly, nor BM or Hera had, at this point, any hope left but they both still, in a very human way, ask, scream or desire to be helped.
Remember folks;
Law and Kid challenged Kaido, but they defeated Big Mom.
Luffy challenged Big Mom, but he defeated Kaido.

That fact they did this was so awesome...Until you realize its Haki what truly matters.

Luffy's victory over Kaido is clear, that of Law and Kid is the result of a ruse, in fact, in the following clashes Kid is humiliated by Red and Law flees from Blackbeard.
It’s crazy that the animators wrote “smokin on dat mom pack” in Kid’s Damned Punk. They really violated her 😂. It’s around 46 seconds when Kid’s shot turns orange for like a frame.

I've always loved one piece and this fight is just another reason why. Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid really mean business in battle. Unpredictable battle styles but they're strong. This is an iconic fight for many to remember. The fact that a yonko was defeated means a lot. Underrated characters Law and Kid are. Loads of respect to them. They're just like Luffy when it comes to fights. Taking beatings, but resilience allows them to hit back stronger. Unreal fight. One of the best this show has produced hands down.

Fantastic fight, but I didn't like the fact that Big Mom never used conqueror's haki infused attacks (like against Paige One) and relied basically only on her devil fruit abilities.
Law and Kid never stood a chance if she started fighting like that (like she fought Kaido, before the alliance) because to counter conqueror's haki infused strikes, you need to be able to do the same.

One Piece is SO God tier that even after ALL that, while Big Mom was falling, when it started showing her flashbacks and her life flashing before her eyes and what she started saying about Roger and how he made her journey for the One Piece much harder, you started to feel a little bad for her. Not being able to call Prometheus and Zera while falling in complete silence till exploding into the lava was epic and kinda sad.
This whole fight was so satisfying, and it was so so cool to see Law go all out like that! He's a freaking beast!! I really hope he becomes an emperor one day, he deserves it!
