I love this scene, this is the first time Big Mom has been severely hurt in a while and it really shows you how much stronger Law and Kidd have gotten.

Law is such a great counter to Big Mom. Her key strength is her impenetrable defence and Law completely bypasses it due to how his fruit works.

Law's awakening possesses two abilities K-Room that allows change size of the things in K-Room
And R-Room which allows to make a Room with a special property for example he created R-Room room around big mom with property of silence
This shows how strong Law actually is. Remember, back in whole cake, nothing could hurt Big Mom as long as she was in a calm state of mind, thanks to her superhuman body and thick skin. She's calm here, but Laws manages to hurt her anyway, to a degree that she's actually screaming. That's some terrifying strength shown by Law.
Law is overrated.
He’s hurting her from the inside out. And only because her Haki has been depleted enough for his awakening to work on her.

This is inconsistent and not great animation work but that does not ruin the scene.

They never really explained this but if you know how Law's devil fruit works you know that he can make a Room or an area that he has complete control over and Krome basically lets him put Room over any object and he can have complete control over that objects characteristics

K-room is the awakening of the ope ope no mi gives Law the ability to operate on anyone from within their bodies, making it much easier for him, as a doctor. At the same time, it also allows Law to phase through whatever tough defense his enemies have and attack them from the inside.

@@asianpersuasion4901 There’s nothing special about his sword there’s no characteristics that make it any different from a regular sword, so am I wrong in saying that laws devil fruit lets him change the characteristics of that sword to 1.) make it longer 2.) to make it not do physical damage to big mom aka not sharp and 3.) make it be able to conduct electricity? The sword isn’t tied to his devil fruit or his abilities so he should theoretically be able to use K-room with anything he touches. He’s used that electric ability before but he had to get up close and personal to make contact with it (kaido). He uses k-room to infuse his sword with that shock ability and changes the properties of his sword to extend so he can use it at any range. He’s never used anesthesia unless he’s using Kroom

I mean, the only way to destroy a heavily armored enemy is to find a weakspot or make a way to Insert an attack. In this case his attack managed to slice trough big mom and make entrance to a lethal attack, cuz big mom can only be killed or defeated if she is hit internally, same as kaidou. Ryou should be effective when used properly

The best part of this is that big mom basically begged law not to zap her because of how much it hurts. Similar to Kaido dodging Luffy's red hawk.

The first time they animated kroom anesthesia I was so disappointed it looked so mid and gave me so much doubt for the kid and law vs big mom but they animated it perfectly this episode by making it swift and instant this fully restored my confidence in the kid and law vs big mom fight now I now it will be legendary and has potential to be better than 1062
Law's fruit is definitely one of the best fruits in OnePiece, his attacks can ignore the opponents defenses, it's just too overpowered and it also turns out to be the perfect fruit for fighting big mom

Luffy used to stay in gear 2nd for a few minutes, he was becoming a midger after 2 mins of gear third, and gain with gear 4.
With time, they overcome those "drawbacks" "weaknesses" cus they are getting stronger.
BUT law still has a long way to go..Luffy is just broken though.
Since we see the attack goes through her cheek, we should have seen the blade in her mouth. That inconsistency weirds me out

The fight still had strategy, that had to force big-mom into an all or nothing attack, seperate her from her homies, silence her voice, tempt her with the challenge since she's overconfident about her durability, even when she can't move.

Luffy for instance comes across as a brute-strength type of guy; and he is mostly, but much of that power only gets him so far because of how he uses his rubber body and cartoon antics.

Laws powers always really confused me.
Think of it like this:
You can make a bubble. And within that bubble, you are basically God. You can manipulate the properties of anything in that bubble, living or not, as you so choose.
Awakening the ability allows you to put that bubble onto things and manipulate them and their properties without needing to be inside.
Law used KROOM to basically make his sword bigger and pierce _through_ big mom without killing her, and then generated shockwaves from the sword that rattled her body from the inside out.
Later, he used RE-ROOM on Big Mom to soundproof her, much like how Corazon could do with his Calm-Calm fruit powers.
Basically he's a big bubble-blowing baby and he was beaten senseless by every patron in Onigashima, Big Mom included.
He still won though.

Law vs BM is a really good match-up for the story. His power is a good counter to her seemingly overpowered power, and yet they make it interesting through him.

@@blair5475 Incase you're just wondering in what ways it's stronger; he can null the weakness of his Room's set area by sourcing it to his target and actively resizing/shaping it. And with attacks with K-Room don't have a set area as he doesn't need to necessarily be "inside" the rooms using it and said attacks allow him to bypass all external defenses. You'll also see further with his next attack how much damage internal attacks really cause, but thats later.
Honestly, they're neck and neck and it's a great match-up. Big mom has insane durability? Law can by-pass that durbaility.
Kid can cursh and cause major damage to her bones? BM can heal them.
She can take people's souls. Make her fight a conqueror Haki user and someone who's always calm and collected.
Big mom can take almost any attack head on thanks to insane durability and health, Kidd can make her move around and do huge attacks where he can't move either.
BM can be everywhere at once thatnks to her friends, Law can do the same with room, and now Kidd can magnetise. It's like they were all made for this fight.
Love this scene. But it just looks a little odd with the sword not being animated in the mouth and appearing on the other side magically.

At first it seemed to pierce diagonally from her throat to the other side but yeah when big mom is speaking near level with her mouth and its just cut off and then 're-sprouts'. Not saying its awful but maybe couldve kept a more diagonal angle than this one in the animation

Considering the room was the only limitation of how crazy his attacks are, just Imagine to use a Gamma Knife or whatever without the need to create a physical limitated space around you but directly the target
