Good morning love the video and your 8th gen content! I have a question! 1. Are the steering radio buttons working? I asked that only because I have 2 8th gens… one si and the other an ex. I have the desaita 8th gen head unit and installing ( meaning wiring) it in the si was a pain. The amplifier as you know in the si model, also the plug that desaita offers doesn’t plug in the si model for it to work. In the ex model everything was plug and play! I eventually was able to look at my si radio harness and the desaita steering harness and was able to tap in to the harness and make everything work! But just wondering how did everything go wiring it?
Thanks bro! I couldn’t use the provided harness because my OEM harness is already modified to bypass the factory amplifier and so the radio powers my speakers directly. If you try this product out and the SWC doesn’t work, I can tell you how mine is wired up
you probably have a Si which comes with premium sound. You'll need to power the factory amp, there should be a blue wire on the Maxpeedingrods wiring that says "remote" or "amp". You'll connect that wire to the light blue wire of the unused plug. You can find the wire i'm talking about by searching 8th gen civic, no sound
these are good specially with dsp which makes the stock speakers sounds really good, what i hate is that theres no physical buttons and volume knob and after have use them for over a year or so i begin to lose the steering wheel control sync and have to re sync it a few times then it starts to slow and lag so i end up removing it and found another unit with a volume knob and hard buttons, the capacitive touch becomes unreliable if you live in cold climates here in the north east
What is the HDMI for? I see no settings for it. I connected a monitor to it and no output signal. I even tried an input signal. Nothing. Oh, and the WIFI is useless.
I forgot what the hdmi is for but it wasn’t something worth mentioning. If you’re having bad WiFi connection, plug in the “back up cam” wire with the two blue wires protruding from the same plug, supposedly that will improve WiFi/bluetooth
If you have a passenger airbag light, you unfortunately have to get a 9' display. The 10.1' models are only for the cars which don't have it, you can check the pictures.
Not gona lie I was disappointed with the lack of uninstalling & install part. I have to figure out why my system doesn't have sound cause this was already in my 08 si when I got it & need to take it apart to figure it out.
There’s a baby blue cable you have to splice I did on my si you can use a wago if you want I did because I don’t have a heat gun nor did I have space to use a lighter
The Si has premium sound, which has an amplifier. When you install an aftermarket car stereo, there’s a plug that is no longer used BUT there is a light blue wire that needs power to turn on the amplifier. Just splice that into a power source and your sound will work. Check the links in the description for a quick video on which wire it is
@@angel_reyez150 there should be a plug that is for the rear camera or something else but you’ll notice there’s a short blue wire that looks capped or cut. That’s the “wi-fi” antenna, once that’s installed, it’ll improve your wireless connection
I didn’t use the included power cable because all these Android stereos use the same 16 or 20 pin cable. Most likely you will have to splice to power the amp because one end goes to the car, the other end goes to the radio. There isn’t a secondary plug for the amplifier
@@brucebain3405 yes, if you have an Si, you will need to splice a wire to power the OEM amp. Or you can bypass it but your audio will be low and you’ll want to get an aftermarket amp
When you installed the radio, do you remember an extra plug that isn’t used? There’s a light blue wire on that plug that power’s the factory amplifier, you need to splice that to a power source. You can look up 8th gen civic, no sound car stereo

What is the small bracket for, is it for the microphone?
I absolutely love how flush this looks, I must ask i live in India and our cars are right hand drive, does this module come in that configuration?
It does
Any recommendations for a right hand drive?

hi do you know what the subwoofer pre out volt is i tried contacting the company but they couldn't help they said it was 12 volt LOL

is there a way to reset this radio if the battery dies? or do we not have to reset the radio with this system?

knobs get dust in them and malfunction. ALWAYS. only idiots use knobs
Does this have wireless CarPlay? Or only usb? Does it have ability for steering wheel controls?
How did you get the steering wheel controls to work with this head unit.
Did your Si come with the stock navi ? I seen some other 10.1 screens say they aren’t compatible if it’s the stock navi radio
Where do you live? The Si in Canada and America didn’t have nav at all.
i have a problem with my civic i have a brand new battery that the date and time keep resetting any thoughts?
