Larry is rooted in his own self confidence and his authoritativeness in the realm of basketball . That word " special. " crops up in almost every Larry Brown talk. THE essence of the zen " beginners mind" known to all martial artists. He is in the " moment " all the time. When he has time to reflect he has the its as good as it gets moment. A challenge has run its course he looks for greener pastures . Even he will tell you the grass isn't always greener on the other side. The " beloved " child got support . He is not as good at burning bridges as building them with his stock in trade. Larry has charisma , self possession, and equipoise in abundance. He has also endured the pain of his monomaniacal obsession. Basketball is both his daemon and savior.

Am I the only one struck by the irony of Keith Olbermann making fun of Larry Brown for moving on so much?

Translation: I had to deal with Donald Sterling

He is a way better college coach than a pro coach. His style doesn't work with NBA egos. He is a coach and a teacher before an administrator. That's why he struggles with NCAA rules and NBA Front offices.

larry brown is very aggressive rarely cares about future talent..hes all about right now and thats an issue..he cares if you can play today cause he cares about his job..not 5 years from now cause he doesn't plan to be on the team..he burns out cause we wants to win now and he pushes players

Maybe a great coach, but too much of a wanderer to be listed with the all time greats. If he stayed put, he'd probably be up with Auerbach, Popovich and Jackson.

Is he on the floor? It's actual basketball. Not a video game.

Overrated coach. Funny how nobody likes to talk about what happened in the 2004 Olympics in Athens where the team was disgraceful. No one likes to talk about his horrible one year with the Knicks, and Bobcats either, very interesting.

I agree with you and I didnt really like this coach because he was not playing a lot of rookies. This is why Darko Milicic was not a good player, because he didnt play too many.
