Larry is rooted in his own self confidence and his authoritativeness in the realm of basketball . That word " special. " crops up in almost every Larry Brown talk. THE essence of the zen " beginners mind" known to all martial artists. He is in the " moment " all the time. When he has time to reflect he has the its as good as it gets moment. A challenge has run its course he looks for greener pastures . Even he will tell you the grass isn't always greener on the other side. The " beloved " child got support . He is not as good at burning bridges as building them with his stock in trade. Larry has charisma , self possession, and equipoise in abundance. He has also endured the pain of his monomaniacal obsession. Basketball is both his daemon and savior.
I cant believe that AI said that Larry Brown was the greatest coach when he was coached by Coach Thompson. smh
Great coach n motivator
One of the best coaches ever took 2 NCAA teams to the finals UCLA and Kansas and won it with Kansas and 2 NBA Teams The Sixers and Pistons and won it with the Pistons!!! only Coach in history to win a NCAA and NBA Title!!!!
Am I the only one struck by the irony of Keith Olbermann making fun of Larry Brown for moving on so much?
Alvin Gentry sighting @ 28:47.
We love you at Kansas coach
Isn't it ironic they never once mentioned coach John b McClendon McClendon the the creator of today's game Larry Brown mentioned him at his induction into the Hall of Fame I bet most people have no clue who he was
@@rogergolden7470 its criminal how much he has contributed to the game but his history remains (mostly) hidden
2:30 “I wanted to stay with the clippers but it didn’t work out.”
Translation: I had to deal with Donald Sterling
He is a way better college coach than a pro coach. His style doesn't work with NBA egos. He is a coach and a teacher before an administrator. That's why he struggles with NCAA rules and NBA Front offices.
He won the championship in 2004.
He also has a 1988 Ncaa championship with the Kansas Jayhawks.
larry brown is very aggressive rarely cares about future talent..hes all about right now and thats an issue..he cares if you can play today cause he cares about his job..not 5 years from now cause he doesn't plan to be on the team..he burns out cause we wants to win now and he pushes players
He was like ernie from inside the nba of coaches
Maybe a great coach, but too much of a wanderer to be listed with the all time greats. If he stayed put, he'd probably be up with Auerbach, Popovich and Jackson.
was a total cheater in college and great coach in PROS... but lets not forget the mans programs every one in college were banged for cheating
Is he on the floor? It's actual basketball. Not a video game.
Overrated coach. Funny how nobody likes to talk about what happened in the 2004 Olympics in Athens where the team was disgraceful. No one likes to talk about his horrible one year with the Knicks, and Bobcats either, very interesting.
I agree with you and I didnt really like this coach because he was not playing a lot of rookies. This is why Darko Milicic was not a good player, because he didnt play too many.
nik the god This was done BEFORE he coached one game with the Knicks or Bobcats.
Brought the bobcats to the playoffs???
Somehow, Kansas and UCLA ended up on probation...
uh his bobcats tenure was fine...he made a great defensive team with no bench make the playoffs...give him a bench he takes that team to the east finals probably
