@@mercedesbenzs600bash I've always been a sucka for barbershop scents. So, as soon as I tested this, I fell in love. It's not powdery at all. Very masculine. Sillage and projection is above average (it's not a beast). It lasts on my skin all day - 8 hours. The scent bubble makes this fragrance, hands down. After 8+ hours, it's a dash above skin scent mode - you will still get subtle whiffs when moving around. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys barbershop scents. The scent isn't linear at all!

That would be nice...but I doubt it. Its too popular in the Private Blend line, so I'm sure Tom Ford will continue to try to make as much money as he can from it.

Kyle Chase that would mark a pretty massive paradigm shift for the brand. Basically halving the prices of all their offerings...on one hand, it might reflect on the value of their scents, because one would wonder what the hell made them so expensive in the first place if the price could be drastically cut for the same fragrance, but on the other hand, I’M ALL IN

Funny. I discovered Beau de Jour over 2 months ago just before all this hype on this fragrances when, by chance, I was buying some bottles of discontinued Shanghai Lily and there was a tester bottle of Private Blend version of Beau de Jour right next to it. The store was a Cosmetic Store in the Las Vegas Premium Outlet Mall and they only have cotton balls to spray the fragrance testers on. I initially wasn't going to buy it and was going to 'think about it'. Upon walking into the cold air outside and hovering the cotton ball in front of my nose and catching the true sillage of this, I stopped in my tracks, turned around and went right back to the store and bought Beau de Jour. Amazing scent. Super classy. I highly recommend wearing with a nice suit in cold air outdoors. The stuff smells like I would figure a fragrance legend would smell. I own plenty of this genre of scent, but this fragrance really stands out.
Do I recommend it? No. It's my scent. All mine. No one should be trying to smell this good. I want it for myself. It should not be getting hyped like this right after I discover it. Before 2 months ago I never heard anyone care about this one this much. Now it's on every fragrance channel and forum. Totally unfair. I wish I had discovered this LONG before this hype train started running.

@@LOGICAL-JAY I've read/heard people say the Private Blend is superior but that's BS IMO. If I had to buy a new bottle right now I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Signature that sells today. I've smelled the Signature version and it's the same.

Beau De Jour was always a gem of a fragrance to me and i was always wondering why people don't talk about it. With this move Tom Ford, by making it a signature line release, made people give it the attention it deserves.
I can feel a blind purchase coming on, i love a classy fougere.

A beautiful masculine fragrance elegant classic and contemporary. Old school is the best. Modern scents lack personality and seem to be generic particularly if you can’t budget niche fragrances

MERCEDESBENZS600 BASH performance is solid no complaints, and you don’t go nose blind to this fragrance like some other ones. You can smell it on your self the majority of the time you are wearing it.

MERCEDESBENZS600 BASH no worries I almost always buy 100 mL bottles but this particular fragrance I bought a 50 mill to save a little money and I have a rather large collection performance is so strong we only need two or three sprays Max in your good all day maybe you spray one time later in the day to too it up

Wow, what a scent, masculine money scent. Got a sample, sprayed it on some guy, 5 minutes later he ordered a bottle. I got several good TF fragrances but this beat even Oud Wood.

It's the same feeling that i have with Rive Gauche from YSL and At the Barbers by Margiela. I like the smell and i wear it from time to time but i get quickly bored with fougeres like this.

What would you recommend of Fougere fragrance from house of Nishane B-612 or Tom Ford Beau De jour? Which one is best as a signature scent? Thanks in advance?
I love them both. They are different personalities. B-612 is more reserved while BDJ is louder. So go with the one that suits you best.

@@mercedesbenzs600bash I find it performs very well on me. I notice that 6 hours after application it is still present and other people still smell it on me when they get close. Not a beast mode fragrance but an above average performer.
If I were to wear it in the morning I would need to reapply if I were to use it for an evening occassion.

This is just my opinion, I got a feeling this is the beginning of repackaging and dropping the prices for a lot of high price fragrance house's. So far it's been Tom Ford along with Kilian once again just my opinion 🤔

Just got my nose on this one today at Von Maur. Not really liking this one. I still have it sprayed on my right hand/wrist and ... unfortunately, it's a hard pass. My daughter disliked it as well. Now, Ombre Leather - total banger and I love that one and so did she. (she's 21). This one... not my fav. The notes sound great, but it smells like wet leaves. If you want a refined - ADG Profumo.

You have to smell this one "in the air", not off of a tester strip. And I recommend it for the cold air and dressing nice. It's definitely got a mature feel to it. The fringes smell a bit raw, but the center of this scent smells beautiful. I challenge you to spray on a cotton ball and take it out into the cold air and hold it just far enough away that you can catch the scent trail. Like you, I smelled on a tester strip and wasn't sure about it until I could smell it like others would smell it off me if I wore it. And once I caught that sillage it was a total winner. Tought to explain how fragrances can come off so differently in different temperatures, different concentrations in the air, etc. But when things are lined up right, this one is way better than the tester strip lets on.

Man, fragrance can be worn with any clothes on. The only rules I stick to is the "seasonal rules". I work in a warehouse and I wear dickies clothing and my weekly rotation has scents like CH Men Prive and others so Im beating the system. Of course you like this scent you got it for FREE. Must be nice.
This doesn’t really make any sense as a Criticism,of course you can wear anything with any outfit, but after a while you start to think what fragrance you have would go best with how your dressed. I don’t necessarily think getting a fragrance for free means you can’t give a opinion on something, I have a free sample of a fragrance and I can say if I like it or not. Unless the Reviewer is a total sellout.
Of course you can wear whatever you want whenever you want, and have no issue. But some things just work better in certain situations. And like I always say, if you want free fragrances, start making videos. Anyone can do this.

I find ATB and BDJ to be different enough for my own tastes, the Tom Ford is more mature to my nose. I'll definitely consider reviewing the Jovoy.

Hm...in terms of the fresh and herbaceous lavender presence, I could connect the two. But beyond that, they are quite different. Viking is much more minty and spicy!

Great review, this is what the fragrance world needs a fully committed fougère that lasts.
I get nauseous, especially the opening while smelling it:( the drydown is kinda good, but i can't stand the first 30 min!

I literally love old-school barbershop fragrances / aromatic fougeres but this smells so synthetic to my nose... they lowered the price but also the quality of it.

J. C. Hi J. C., yes I think It’s a better balanced composition. Someone told me they did the same with Ombre Leather Private Blend vs Signature collection. I don’t know about OL PB but I tried many times Ombre Leather (black bottle) and I experienced the same type of issue I have with this Beau De Jour release. Too synthetic especially after the fragrance has settled down on the skin... It’s a pity since at first I really wanted to like this.
