I love how Convergence Station and Omega Mart have actors throughout the exhibition. House of Eternal Return does occasionally but I wish they did more consistently
I actually wonder how long they plan to keep House of Eternal Return as is. They have learned a lot from building Omega Mart and now Convergence Station (And their future installation in Los Angeles too) such as having wider walkways to allow for higher guest throughput or an emphasis on electronic interaction and frequent roaming actors. I love House of Eternal Return and it IS the original, but a lot has been learnt from these new experiences.
@@TheOnlyBongo I mean, they have made some small changes to the House since it’s opening. The main one, to my knowledge, being the addition of the Obsidiopolis room.
I like house of eternal return just because you’re left alone and able to explore freely. When employees are everywhere it feels like I’m being hovered over.
i imagine there arent many actors around the house cause it doesnt completely fit in with its storyline, but there ARE actors, specifically the Charter agents (the people in labcoats) who ive seen people walk up to and talk to. it makes more sense for the house since its been quarantined and confiscated, meanwhile omega mart is an active store that has employees and convergence is whole societal areas.
It's wonderful that this form of art installation/attraction is growing. Great way to give artists jobs and create more jobs for the attraction. There are other ones cropping up that are not Meow Wolf properties.
I was here on opening day, it was so packed. There are so many individual things I didn't see that Jacob saw. Definitely gonna plan my next trip soon and hopefully the herd is a lot thinner.
I work at Convergence Station and didn't know about the prairie dog room until I saw this video, if that gives you any idea at how many details there are 😂
I was there for over three hours the day after Christmas… I don’t think I got half of everything that you can just see. The card scanning system was offline due to a “memory storm” (i.e. either cuz of Omicron or technical issues) so I didn’t even get any of the story behind it. There’s so much to look at and honestly I foresee myself going multiple times to catch it all. Thankfully my parents live there, so I have a good excuse to 🥳
Omg! I want to watch but then I don’t lol I don’t want to spoil it for myself lol I live 20 minutes away from there and I watched it get built . Us in Denver are super excited for the new meow wolf! Thank you Jacob for being our tour guide.
I work nights there. You did a great job capturing the place. Of course there are many secrets and memories you missed. But great job. Next time visit Hellofood 🙂
It's a dumb policy to not allow cameras. This video being uploaded proves why that's an outdated policy- iPhones are literally bragging about being "indistinguishable" from higher-end cameras (whether they are or not is a separate discussion).
Its more for safety of you and your camera. But the other point of it is also so that you enjoy what you're seeing and don't just focus on taking video.
While they’re at it they might as well ban phones too... I have tickets to attend this Sunday I just received an email with all of the stipulations and things not allowed on top of professional cameras...no purses or bags larger than 8“ x 8“ No Vape pens, gum ,cameras ,strollers umbrellas, selfie sticks etc etc... And regardless of vaccination status you must wear a mask and...the mask cannot be a bandanna or contain a valve...etc etc. so yeah might as well add phones to that list too I’m soo looking forward to going now 🙄
So, I went with a small camera, and my experience showed me that there might be more to the "no big cameras" rule. I went with the full intention of documenting everything I could to come back to and translate later, and I spent the first 5-10 minutes documenting everything within the first 5 feet of the c-street entrance. There was just TOO MUCH to document effectively without A) blocking traffic, B) monopolizing a particular piece (like the books and tablets), or C) slowing your own progression to a snails pace. As an artistic collective, it makes sense that they'd set rules in place to direct people towards the experience they want you to have. Clearly, they wanted us to get lost, talk with the "locals" and get personally engaged. They're not going to get mad over a few pictures, but if you're actively messing up other people's experience, that's the line they draw.
@@Ericasentertainments actually, they encourage phones. There are several interactions that are specifically built around phone usage and phone cameras. Plus, the QDoT cards have a QR code on them so you can access the mems you collect on your trip when you get home! The bag restrictions are mostly to force you to think critically about what you're bringing in, and I should mention it's insanely easy to put something down and forget about it here because you get distracted by every square inch. Better to lose a small bag with a handful of stuff than a large bag with your entire life in it.
Cool. I was hoping you was in Denver for this. Hope to get to watch this through with out having to pause it for tours. Had to pause your awesome Casa Bonita one four different times yesterday. That guy sure was a hoot. Spent a lot of time eating at Casa Bonita in 1984/85. Drove Paul Reubens and Phil Hartman there in 1984 and got to eat with them at that special area....
It seems all the Meow Wolfs have something new to offer. They are all very interesting in their own right. This one was awesome . I bet you could go back in a month and it will look different. The only thing in this one that made me slightly uncomfortable compared to the others is that a lot of the actors just seemed to stare at you and it did make me cringe. I never noticed that in the other ones they seemed to be doing things. Love these. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
I've been waiting for so long for Convergence Station. If the Meow Wolf ride at Elitch Gardens is anything to go by, this is going to be amazing to experience once I get the chance!
I worked at Elitch Gardens for a few days, right across from that ride actually. I didn't get to ride it but knowing it's in relation to these amazing attractions I must go on it.
I just got home from visiting the Convergence Station myself! (I'm a Colorado resident and drove 2 hours to see it) This video is FANTASTIC, but the museum is truly something you have got to experience first hand. So many things to see, back rooms to get lost in, references, secrets, AND an overarching story about The Convergence and 4 missing women. 10/10 recommend! But if you do go, I highly recommend buying a Convergence guide book from the gift shop (it was like $7, I think) and giving it a good, quick read. Ended up buying one at the end of my trip and missed out on some backstory.
