Agree. Please don't paint that lovely warm wood. I think the olive paint looks great and if they go with that, pull it up onto the ceiling, too. If budget/time/fucks given allow, I'd pull up the carpet and if carpet is necessary, get something like a nice brown-beige with a grid pattern for visual texture and depth.
Yes! The wood is beautiful, painting the walls looks very nice and if they have more of a budget I would remove the carpet and install wooden or faux wood floors😅
Contrary opinion: The Murano glass sconce is lovely and if there is documentation as to which factory produced it, then of course you should buy it. Depending on the factory, it may have long-term value as well. I could see it in a powder room for sure. The Ingo Maurer Lampampe lamp is a currently available (and well-known) design, though if you have access to an original from the 80's then of course it's far more valuable and can go for a couple thousand $US. It's an investment if that's your thing, but it's beautiful either way. It's famous for a reason. I've bought reissues of deco lamps and when they're done well, they're still gorgeous. Definitely a statement piece and you have great taste! ☺ The yellowish Emsa (NOT "Esma" which is what the listing shows) is a vintage piece from the '70's and that's actually a really good price. Buy it.
Hi Paige, in another video you did with Kate you talked about cool frames and ways to frame pictures and art. It would be really interesting if you could make a video on how you would pick a frame (color, size, style) for a given piece of art, etc. I feel many of us have art or posters we would like to frame but are unsure of the best way to do it.
This is exactly what I came on here to ask for!!! - please, I need help framing my art. I have a great shop nearby, but I don’t know how to choose matting and frames that will enhance my art or make it look cool. What is your process for that? This is a dire circumstance- I am 42 and still using sticky tack to put up my frameless art. 😅
Speaking of bus/train seat fabric, you can buy furniture and pillows and stuff like that with the fabrics from the train and buses around London from the London Transport Museum's shop.
I like your longer videos. It's nice to watch over a cup of tea Sunday evening. Or like today while folding laundry, haha! I am so into the mood board reviews. I recently made a mood board for my dream interior makeover and it is so helpful. It made me slow down on purchases and be more intentional. I just use Google Slides. The ones you showed were all excellent. I may send mine in the future. I will say the hardest decision for me is bedding. I've been into all white bedding and curtains for a while and am over it. I'm just nervous about committing because I only want to buy high quality and don't want to make a mistake.
Your love for mustard yellow is the perfect foil for my love of green. Every time you choose or suggest yellow I am giggling because I never would but it's comforting that you know what you like and stick with it. Every time you hate something green I am swooning at it, so I giggle at myself. Keep loving what you love!
Have you ever watched the UA-cam channel Never Too Small? It might be a fun video to have you review a few of the apartments. Also I love the old tiles in the bathrooms! Good advice to keep/save them.
Your friend's office woodwork looks heavy because of the contrast with the light walls and the light visual weight of the desk. I'd paint the walls a color that compliments the wood (think earthy warm muted tone like adobe or clay) and then get a desk that has the same visual weight as the closet doors. I'd also add a decorative rug or some type of patterned element to the room to tie together the wood and wall color. A book shelf across from the closet will also balance the room.
I loved those rugs at I believe 17:27, mark (would love to know where they’re from?) *Your friends Office IMO could use some type of lightweight rug even though she has what look like a rug flooring in her office, just to break it up, & define the desk/Main work Area. Wish we could see more of it & I think some type of semi sheer burlap or bamboo blinds would look really nice and filter some of the light when she needs it to work and look at her computer screen. A large Plants 🪴 🪴 in in the corners & small ones hanging from the windows🎍 would bring some life & color into the space and energy And why not some nice artwork to look at you always say to hang some thing on the window or in a different space. Maybe something she loves or aspires to that she could kind of glance out at when she’s on a conference call or something. Hope you see this.😊
I got a Ruggable rug from the Iris Apfel range - definitely not a traditional style, but I was really taken with the designs. Don't see myself getting bored of it any time soon. And being thin enough to stick in the washing machine is great, because a toddler peed on it within 24h of delivery.
21:40 Keep the wood trim!! I would suggest new carpet with a pattern of some sort. Anderson Tufftex has some really great options. The pattern “Imagination” is brand new and so pretty. Make the room feel like an office, not a bedroom. Also, maybe a new light fixture?
For Marie’s office, I would paint the walls green and keep the dark trim. I have dark wooden trim in my bedroom and painted the walls a sage green last year. Feels like I’m in a forest, I love it!
I like the longer content, like you said it’s what I come to UA-cam for. All the social media companies are trying to be TikTok right now and it’s stupid. I also love all the videos where you give real people advice on items/mood boards/fabric/etc And unsolicited suggestions but parts of this video really made me want videos on a) lampshades and the shapes/styles/pairing them with bases/whatever you want to say about lamps, and b) cabinets to put tvs in! I REALLY want a cabinet to put my tv in, BUT new ones are either hideous or a million dollars, good vintage is also a million dollars (in my immediate area anyway, maybe my next vacation is searching for a tv cabinet lol) halp 😭
I love Ruggable Rugs! We have them all over our home. We have a little senior dog that has accidents often and it has really saved us money. Just pop them in the washing machine and dry them on low - and they come out looking brand new! Definitely recommend them if you have pets.
You do so many great videos, but these are my favorite, for some reason. Also ruggable: mid in terms of quality and design, but 100% valuable if you have a high traffic home w/ babies, dogs, etc. etc.
I have the same bathroom tile as 16:28. I’ve been wanting to re-do it, but it’s encouraging to hear you think it’s nice, Paige! I think I just need to spruce it up by re-grouting
Yes I love the long vids! It almost feels like a podcast or as if we’re hanging out and I’m just listening to you talk about your passion at your pace. I love it
I totally agree. A TV in a really nice cabinet or armoire is the best idea. If you’re lucky enough to have an actual den, TV room, movie room, or family room that is separate and apart from the living room, put the gigantic TV in there on full display, up front and center and put smaller TVs that you can hide or obscure in your other rooms. 📺
I had a ruggable rug in my living room and I hated it - the pattern and color were nice, but it was so thin and felt cheap. Because it was so thin, it was hard to get it to lay flat as well, it would get wrinkled up very easily. It was also impossible to wash at home because it was too big.
Love the long form videos talking through design ideas! Definitely would love to see one with moodboards 🙂 For your friend Marie's office, I would say don't paint the baseboards. I think natural wood grounds the space and the tone of the wood in this office is pretty nice. I would say paint the walls either the color shown in the video or a slightly warmer green. And then put an area rug to cover most of the grey carpet for more color and texture. However, I'm not sure if the desk, chair, and treadmill would sink into the rug too much and look weird. But I think there has to be something on the floor to lighten up the space.
It's going to rain more this week! (I'm in So Cal, too.) Get a small space heater and/or a fan for your little office. Have them pointing close to you. I can get by without AC most of the day with a small fan a couple feet from me. And wear cozy clothes for the cold. I used to heat one room in an old house with the space heater. This is not a long video at all, to me. You could even go 45 minutes, depending on the subject.
Girl You Rock, glad this gig is working for you. I need a show curtain, fun you’re selling them. Love your disposition. 30 mins is good. More of these reviews. The office make over - needs a fun rug on the carpet. Paint the closet doors same color as trim, not the windows. Like the green, rug color / details will influence this.
I really enjoyed this video to see so many different things people are finding. Do more of these. I really like hearing your opinions on the items and the websites. You had a lot to add to each submission. And I like the long form videos. Signed up for the newsletter now bc of this video 😊 Hope this feedback helps!
Video idea: rate the moodboards that people send you, but also edit in your own suggestions! Would love to have a visual for your recommendations, like for expample for the mood board at 11:00. love this video. Also, yes yes yes to longer format!!!
i took your advice for looking for rugs on etsy and it’s actually one my favorite decor pieces i own!! i get sooooo many compliments on it and it was such a reasonable price
I think the windows at 2:44 should have wide-slat wood blinds on each window, in a wood finish that is as close a match as possible to the window sashes and trim wood tone. That would almost give the look of custom wood louvered shutters, which is really nice in a heritage home. The 'couch skin' should be E. Definitely E. The office at 22:16-Don't paint the wood trim, paint the walls. I nice green is always a good choice. Art on the ground: As a rule, I wouldn't. But every rule has an instance where it could/should be broken.
The office space- the green works. Ultimately I think it’s the computers and desk throwing the room off. I don’t know rest of room but she should get a wooden desk turn it to face the door in the middle of the room - command position. Then maybe add a cool rug under it, and some art pieces on the walls, and nicer curtains
I hadn’t heard of Tulip and I just preordered! While I generally agree with Paige, sometimes you can’t switch out the light fixture easily due to electrical issues. We can’t switch out our bedroom ceiling fixture due to an electric wiring issue. It’s not dangerous at all, but it will require rewiring of the whole room, which we cannot afford to do- our small house is over 80 years old . So it’s been exposed bulbs for months. I’ve been searching for something I could stick over it and this is it!
For your friend Marie, I like the green walls and don't think she should paint the wood trim. I think she needs to put an area rug down over part of the current rug to add some interest and color to the room. Floor is otherwise kinda boring.
@22:17 re office revamp: I'd definitely get a new desk. can she paint the ceiling fan a pop of color?? I think that'd be cool. personally I'm not a fan of carpeted floors so I'd also put down a full rug that brings in some color.
would love to see a video where subscribers could send in a picture of the area they are redoing (and maybe their mood boards?) and you give tips! this would be so fun!
Art on the ground: I like it but I do feel like it makes me feel a little first home out of college. Also I think your friend should keep the trim unpainted and paint the walls. That wood is tooo lovely. Excited tour table linens are coming in June(my birthday month) might need to treat myself! Also maybe you could AI improve one subscribers room in your newsletter? And lastly, loving your newsletter in my inbox each week! Thank you!
I love seeing you comment on mood boards!!! Also, I'd tell your friend to paint the ceiling a new color and keep the walls a nice complementing white! That way she can keep the wood! 😊
Hi Paige! Here's an idea for your next trip: places that Ben & Erin Napier has renovated. I believe they've upgraded some small towns across the US with some help from their friends from HGTV (sorry I forgot the show's name) and I think it would be cool if you pay a visit to those towns. Hope this helps ❤ keep making longer contents btw, WE ALL LOVE IT X
Marie’s office. ONG pls don’t paint the wood. It’s such a rich warm color. If feel like she needs it with the gray carpet. New desk and curtain set up is what she needs way more than painting trim.
I am moving in with my bf and renovating his place in the next months, and I am so excited to finally have an excuse to get your opinion on interior decor!
For the sofa skin, B. E is close, but it's the wrong kind of blurry to work with the sharp lines around the room (tiles and cabinets, spherical lamp with stripes, inset window.) It's blurry which could be a nice contrast, but it's blurry in one direction and a stripe in another direction, so it can't make up it's mind.
Thank you for everything Paige- do you think a wide curtain rod with drapes/ curtains to the floor and sort of framing the window/woodwork would work? Say that 3x fast lol TIA💐
Please do a prop styling 101 video for people who know absolutely nothing. We would appreciate it.
yes, in particular for tablescapes!
Agreed!!
Yes please!!!
yes like practical ones for our homes!! no cut up tomatoes out on the counter lol
Yes-practical home styling 101, please! Your videos have leveled up everything else about my home, but I still struggle with the styling!
Thank goodness for any content creators that still make longer videos because I can't do shorts- at least not for interior design type content.
Totally. Binging shorts makes me feel even grosser than binging UA-cam videos haha.
I could watch you for hours, Paige. If you like long form, I’m here for it. Idea: go to some open houses and tell us what you think.
For the first picture with the wood around the windows I would just use Roman shades. For privacy they're great without being very heavy visually.
Good Idea !!!
30 minutes is not enough Paige wisdom ❤
Love the green walls while keeping the trim wood in your friend's office - gotta keep that craftsman detail!
Yeah, the colour of the wood trim in that room is fire. Don't paint that.
I thought the very same thing !!
@@goodyxeroxx umm yes. thissss

such a good find!

hi! great find! where is this sofa from?
Your suggestion for blinds for the wood trimmed windows was excellent ... that wood trim is absolutely beautiful! 😍
You should do a list of all the pink interior design pieces/trends that you actually like for Valentine’s Day lol
Love the long videos! You should definitely do more of these submissions as well as the mood board video idea!
Unsure about pop of red in each room but I do have a pop of orange in each room and a red cabinet in the hallway. Love the long video.

I think the windows at 2:44 should have wide-slat wood blinds on each window, in a wood finish that is as close a match as possible to the window sashes and trim wood tone. That would almost give the look of custom wood louvered shutters, which is really nice in a heritage home.

I hadn’t heard of Tulip and I just preordered! While I generally agree with Paige, sometimes you can’t switch out the light fixture easily due to electrical issues. I like the long videos. I also think that office one should leave the trim and paint the walls the darker green.
I looove this type of videos! Longer will be even better! Greetings from Poland
I am moving in with my bf and renovating his place in the next months, and I am so excited to finally have an excuse to get your opinion on interior decor!
For Marie’s office- the wood trim and doors with the green looks beautiful. I vote don’t paint the trim.
I love the long-form content! 30-min is a great length I think.
Fill the coffee table with sand and a little rake
Haha love it! Create a little zen garden on the glass coffee table - a brilliant plan for anyone *without* a rowdy toddler.
Love these videos. The mood board videos would be really great too.
Thank you for everything Paige- do you think a wide curtain rod with drapes/ curtains to the floor and sort of framing the window/woodwork would work? Say that 3x fast lol TIA💐
hell yeah for longer videos!!! please do more like this or make it even longer like an hour
I’m here the longer style videos, and would love to see an entire video on just mood boards!
Leave the wood trim. Love the green walls. 👍🏼
I didn't really know if i'd enjoy this... but LOVED this format/idea - would enjoy even longer potentially?
