At this moment my mac is running this test I think atleast for 10 minutes. I cant understand can it finish by itself or I must stop it? How can I know the test is complete?
Good grief man! you dont run that for 10 mins, you are putting alot of data thru ur ssd for no reason... just run it for 30 secs and let it cycle thru a full read and write once or twice... thats ur reading
Hi, I really liked your video and had speed application already on my MacBook Air. I was amazed how your MacBook had amazing speed, while mine is slow as molasses. Now that if confirmed this what is the next step to enhance the speed? Your comments/input would surely be appreciated. Thanks!
Hello thanks for your comments. So sorry for being late. My MacBook Air was the last generation of the old design MacBook Air power by i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD drive it was maxed out it was the fastest MacBook Air. Wondering what is the specs of your MacBook air?
Thanks for this video, when does the test end. On my computer it keeps flipping back and forth between Write and Read forever, how do I know what the final/average/actual read and write speed is? Thanks!
Usually the actual time spent writing is 8 seconds and then 8 seconds for read then it repeats the test will continue until you click the start button again.
Thanks for the video! I have a few internal SSDs (2010 Mac Pro) and tons of other drives. My internal SSDs are around 268 MB/s Write, Read Speed. I'm curious if there's anything I can do to speed these up or is this all an issue of the age of the mac or the PCIe speed limitations?
Nice videos and nice explanation! I have imac 2017 basic one with 1 terra hard drive and number are very low around 95mb writing and reading. Is that normal? Thanks a lot

Really cannot understand. When I hit start it gives me different results, then it keeps starting the test again and gives other results, and then again, and then again and then again. So far my MacBook Pro has gotten green ticks on everything. Except sometimes I don’t get a green tick for 2160P60 on read. But then The test starts again and then I DO get a green tick there too (just like for all the other file types), but then it starts again and then I get a gray cross there..., but then it starts again and I get a green tick... this is so confusing what does all this mean and what is the correct result? And, why does it just keep on going forever instead of stopping and give you the damn result already?? Are you supposed to guess when to stop it from running the test over and over again?? Stupid.

Thanks for your time and words appreciated
When I do it it just keeps going and never gives me an accurate score like yours. Any ideas?

PCI could be limitation. Also if you have most of the SSD in use this will impact the speed
Really nice video! Thanks so much for your info and very friendly presentation style. Cheers!

I am getting a read speed of 2855MB/s and write speed of 2752.6MB/s

Yes normal if your drive is standard drive or fusion drive. It should be faster speed with SSD.
Thanks for your comments.
That Helped Me.. Thanks
Thanks Fadi, Welcome to the channel :)

Does it just keep on going ???

Why didn't you explain the numbers in green on the right or the check marks mean?
Thanks for your comments
