Just focus on the most concrete part of your life. Appreciate that and branch out. From there, you can begin to feel confident and grateful about the rest of it. Trust me, it takes time
I love you. You have always been there for me when I needed it most, when everyone else in my life has gone. Thank you Joe Pera. These (any contents from you) are the most comforting thing in my life and have been for going on 10 years.
Joe, I may not be using this to aid in sleep - yet, as I go through a healing in my chronic illness - it is with great gratitude I turn here to calmed and put to ease in my body. As an academic, it's a pleasure to hear you divulge into the many interests of the world.
You got this, I know it's hard, but I know you're strong. The fact you haven't turned into the people that hurt you, already shows how strong you truly are. Never, EVER forget that my friend.
I always had a lot of nostalgia for the 70s decorating books and magazines as my grandma always had a big stack of them from the 60s and 70s and the design styles were just amazing as a kid and the holidays photo spreads of decorating just about everything and the dinner wares were like really impressive as we were never going to do things like that but it was just interesting and neat to see it,even it was just something a well-to-do family with a hired decorator would be able to do. My parents had quite a few decor items that still are in the old house today, like the big burnt orange upside down funnel fireplace that was totally a 60s/70s thing and odd chrome chandelier made of thin curved pipes and had big white glass spheres for the lights and a big hanging pendulum light ball that is chrome with a basketball size glass ball cover. Had some really cool rocking chairs that were very mod and comfortable, in a dark green and dark orange and golden color scheme, but they let someone borrow it and never got it back.
Joe, I was lucky enough to discover your work late last night, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am. I don’t have trouble falling asleep, but I do battle intrusive thoughts, and have been going through an especially tough time mentally the last few days. Your shows have brought a peace and calm back into my conscious, and they remind me of the simple things and how every person has an amazing story they’ve lived through and sometimes we just need to listen. I needed this, I truly did. Thank you
Hi from South Africa! Doubt you will see this, but want to thank you for helping to soothe some very difficult times for me. From calming my anxiety to guiding me to some much needed rest. I have no doubt you offer a lot to people all over the world.
Thanks! My girlfriend and I love love love your videos. We couldn’t make it to your Tulsa show last month. Hope you come down around Dallas area soon. We will buy you one of the best bowls of soup you’ve ever had! Much love from Akbar and Sabaa
How interesting! I grew up with key limes in my backyard. All the wood was covered in layers and layers of peeling white paint. The paint on the deck boards was gray -- the only gray I can remember back then; we didn't have much gray. There were no fireplaces in that region, too hot. Once after a sun shower I slipped on the wet gray wood and caught enough air to clear a pub table, but I surprisingly, did not get hurt. However I slipped right into the ocean. A were-angel on vacation from Iowa helped me but he did not let me back on dry land. Instead, he threw rings in the water which he made me retrieve until I learned to regulate my breathing. This way I would never need anyone's help again. We were married that same year. However, we divorced the following year due to an argument over who landed on the moon first -- but I learned so much from him and as you can see, I've not drown. Yet. Ha-ha. I'm afraid that's where our similarities end, Joe, but it's amazing how the lives of two strangers can parallel if only for a moment. I hope you have a wonderful evening.💜
So educational...yet peaceful. I somehow absorb all of the information, without even knowing. What a Gift. I’m glad that you use these forces for good. I love you.
The algorithm sent joe my way after several nights in a row of falling asleep to Dr. Katz. Thanks algorithm. Joe is just as good for that. Slept just as good.
Joe you delivered on your promise to see whether you could read anything and it be entertaining, this may be my favourite episode, thankyou for consistently putting out great content.
Hey Joe! I just wanted to share with you.. I've watched all of your; Joe Pera Talks With You episodes several times over, and absolutely love them! You are genuinely one of heroes, Joe. And I think you're an amazing person.
It is odd, id never heard the term before and we even had swimming training in elementary school grades, 7-8 where we were bussed to the city indoor pool. I never had an issue with sinking, i typically had to kinda fight to dive under at first but tended to keep rising. Lol Anyway, i always learn something new when watching/listening to his shows.
Great job, Joe. Love it. I'm hoping your show will continue... someday soon! Everyone I've shared your show with has become an instant fan and have watched your shows more than once.
This is so fantastic. Im glad i got to see you in dallas when you came to the tx theater. It was such a fun, relaxing, surreal time. Unique characters like you dont come around often. Keep being your own special brand of comedy, relaxation, and whatever you want out of life.
Thank you, Joe. I really appreciate these videos. These have helped me fall asleep better than anything else. No clue why, obviously you put a lot of effort into making them relaxing and that velvety voice helps. But these have a quality I can’t quite put my finger on. Again, I appreciate it. Thank you.
I really liked hearing the alternative speech based on the moon landing. It’s kinda like a chance to look into an alternate universe of what could have hapoened
Hey Joe. Just wanted to say I use this series, and especially this episode, to help bring me down from panic attacks. I hope you continue the series in the future, man. I need more blueberry harvest reports to calm me down in the Trader Joe’s bathroom. (The nicest of all grocery store bathrooms.)
About 15 minutes in I fell asleep. Its nice to have something genuinely interesting to listen to. Unfortunately autoplqy put on a different video which woke me up. Still fell back asleep in a few minutes. I love the little articles and things, especially Picasso not caring about the moon landing.
Here is your much-deserved hundredth comment, Joe. Did you ever listen to Prairie Home Companion growing up? You have the same gentle humor and soothing quality of that old radio broadcast.
Hello everyone. Sorry to enter the comment section without knocking first, but the door was already open and no one could hear me over Baba O'Riley on the radio. I won't take up too much of your time, I have to get home to take some rolls out of the oven, anyway. I was just hoping that if Joe Pera ever sees this, I might kindly ask him for a future episode where instead of talking me to sleep, he helps start my morning. It'd be nice to hear his take on the potential of each new day. I'll happily trade a can of my homemade brown bread, my dad's bean soup recipe, or an embrassing picture of me from the fifth grade for the episode. Have a good night and please consider my proposal. I'll see you all at school tomorrow. Goodbye.
I'm not freaking out about my life anymore. I think I can handle it. I think I can learn to be grateful for my life.
you can make it through this Jonathan Franzen. I believe in you.
Let go and let God

As someone with terrible anxiety which flares up at night, this is wonderful

Thank you joe, for providing a bounty of hope in this lonely life.
Joe, you should make an episode about screws. The little unsung heroes keeping our civilization fastened together for hundreds of years.
Cold idea
Nothing but this gentle boy works for me now. He is all i sleep to. I do wish the music was slightly lower volume, i hope thats not rude.

I listened to Joe the whole time I was trying to fall asleep and didn't hear a word he said. Mission accomplished. :)
One of my favorites so far. Fantastic episode. I would listen to you read from encyclopedias every month!

The way I would sell every organ in my body to have an episode where he just constantly talks about food

I absolutely loved this episode, especially you talking about Maine blueberries.

Hearing that speech about the Apollo 11 blew my mind! It was surreal, and the music, oh my god.
I always love when these drop.
Joe Pera is the only reason I can sleep at night
I've heard music described as having texture but rarely texture described as music. Fascinating.
