What do you think of the set? What or who do you think should've been in the set? I think Isildur and Elrond are big missed opportunities.
Definitely should’ve had the Witch King or at least some Nazgûl. Still looks great though.
I think the figure selection is good, i just would’ve preferred new Frodo and Sam figures

I think the choice to “lighten” the pieces around The Eye to give it a forced glow was absolutely genius. It works so well and gives so much life to the build

@@Ashnflash agreed! I have the Tower of Orthanc set and as beautiful as I think it is, the exclusive use of black muddles the details. I’m really happy they found a clever and effective way to add some color to this equally monochromatic tower 😅

I reckon the inside of mount doom would have made a good diorama set for $80-$100. Have Isidur and Elrond as the characters along with Sam, Frodo and Gollum.
Yessss! I’ve been saying this since last year, dioramas are a good middle ground of cheap sets but still for adults

Honestly every single floor of this set is awesome with alll the little details and references! The minifgures while a smaller amount is still awesome with Sauron and the awesome armour!! Now we need Saruman and helms deep next!!!

One Lego set to rule them all, one Lego fan to find them, One Lego piece to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them
They should have printed the mentally and physically destroyed versions of Sam and Frodo from the scenes in Mordor in the LOTR videogame, the scruffy look on the face, the no sleep marks, and the outfits worn out, that and also the printed armor they use in that scene, to either recreate the tossing of the ring without the armor, or putting the whole armor and helmets, to be in disguise

Well there was a Bag-End set and Erebor set with Smaug when The Hobbit movies came out. Eventually Lego might remake them in miniature "Architect" style. But I think they will have other priorities like locations we've never seen before : Edoras, Minas Tirith, the Argonath, a buildable Oliphant, just to name a few
Shire yes. But Lonely Mountain no. No one wants crap from that bad movie trilogy.

I have been waiting for this set for years. The build looks amazing, the minifigs look amazing, everything is perfect.
I just don't see the point of the little secrets like the spider, I will for sure put it on the exterior.
The brown bricks to make the impression the lava or the eye is glowing is really clever, I hope the demarcation is not too brutal
The only thing we need now are battle packs of orcs, to build an army coming out of Barad Dur.
Also, I did some math in my room to reorganize all my shelves so I can still expose my legos that are already exposed aswell as Barad Dur, I hope it will work lmao
Cool helmets if I ever get my hands of those new helmets....I would love to make cool new custom minifigures

You should get the sets and put them on while you build!
You need to watch the movies. Fellowship Of The Ring, The Two Towers, and Return Of The King are mandatory for everyone to watch. They're masterpieces.
Rivendell had the orange brick separator and this set has the teal green one.

Really hope we get a return to Pirates of Caribbean. Lego been coming back to the early 2000s. Imagine a UCS or Masterbuilders Black Pearl.
Something I'm SO used to is the brown orcs being Mordor Orcs and the green ones being Moria Orcs. I have the old Lord of the Rings LEGO sets to thank for that.

The Shire being shown burning in the palantír is a reference to the book. In the book Saruman the White (now Saruman of many colours) is still alive by the time the ring is destroyed, and after deceiving Radagast the Brown he takes his remaining Uruk Hai and enslaves the shire. There's a whole hobbit rebellion and everything and eventually Saruman is betrayed by wormtongue simular to the movie.
The chapter is called the scouring of the Shire.
Something about Sauron’s helmet gives off the 1989 Batman vibes, same molding process possibly?

it's beyond my patience to build something that big, but it looks awesome.
They need to make a orc and Gondor soldier battle pack
Can they still make Sauron in Lego, only with a removable helmet and no shoulder pad?
I don't like the gradient effect on the middle section. I also hate how those Blue plates shine through on the top section which you pointed out. Then there's the reused Frodo and Sam minifigures, which should have been updated.
Overall this set is a 8.5/10 and I hope to own it someday, but it has some issues.
I to missed out on the first Tower, and wish they would release it with this one even if it’s limited. Going forward hopefully Lego releases one location a year.
I'm not a lotr fan but this is going straight to my room next to the Joker manor...

If they ever make smaller sets, they need a different print for Sméagol. The Gollum figure works, but if they re-used it for Sméagol that would be weird
I can already see people making some War Of The Last Alliance dioramas with this set! Minus the Eye Of Sauron of course, because that emblem didn’t appear until the Third Age, years after the war.
5:00 I think it will be best if we wait for the MOC community to come up with a tower extender with instructions and just by the parts needed, would be loads cheaper then buying 2 sets
Suggestions for new LoTR sets: Prancing Pony in Bree, Lothlorien (part of it), Argonath, Amon Hen, Dead Marshes, Meduseld/Edoras, Dunharrow, Minas Morgul, Cirith Ungol, Osgiliath, Pelennor Fields, Minas Tirith, Faramir’s waterfall hideout.

I bet lego will remake the tower of Orthank next to complete the two towers collection. maybe the year after, they make baggend

I would like some micro scale orcs that can be put on the outside of the tower.
After watching a speed build and seeing all the figs and their bags, I’ve decided to do bag 31 first, I just NEED the dark Lord watching his fortress be built before his eyes.
Ahahaha I never thought that you now need speed builds to see what’s inside paper bags.
Honestly, you could start by building the top of the tower and work downwards

Aside from the blue tiles (and price) my only real complaint with this set is Gothmog. I think they should have given him a unique lame arm and molded head, but otherwise I think the set is another home run 👍

Seen that people had issues with big wasted space orc dinning area. I like that its fitting with "Meats back on the menu!" joke. Its canon in the movie that orc know what a menu is, so its only fitting that they have a big restaurant space and orc chef XD
Ya I heard another review said it was too jokey for the set, meanwhile like I mentioned in the video, there’s another tower WITH a dining hall. So it fits perfectly I think

When the camera is static, your audio goes from what seems like an external mic to simply using the phone in a room. Would be nice to have consistent audio no matter how it was filmed. Others do it.

It’s not a LAN thing, it’s a region thing. Because these sets are from the EU they have them. It’s just not happening here right now
@@AshnflashPaper bags are sporadic at best across the pond based on feedback from people actually buying sets in the wild over there. LAN is definitely making sure their review copies they send out have the paper bags.

The fact we have finally gotten Sauron in Lego Form is insane and it's like a dream come true, Sauron is my favorite Middle Earth Villain, I'd love to see a Sauron Movie, Lego Dimensions should have released Sauron years ago. I love the Interior inside his Tower,(we've never seen inside his Tower to see it for the first time is a treat) The Eye of Sauron is accurate, it's almost an exact replica, my only negative is they could have put in a few more characters in this masterpiece of a set like:
1. Islidur (Aragon's Ancestor)
2. Elendil (The King of Gondor in the Second Age and Islidur's Father)
3. Second Age Elrond
4. Gil-Galad
5. Second Age Last Alliance Elf Soldier (x2)
6. Second Age Last Alliance Gondor Soldier (x2)
7. A few Easterling Warriors (x3) (Third Age)
8. The Witch-King
I'd love to see Minas Tirith/Gondor next, The Kingdom of Rohan, The Village of Bree and Minas Morgal (The Ringwraiths's City) next, if you're thinking of building an Arkham Asylum Moc, put Sauron and The Phantom Zone Criminals from The Lego Batman Movie in as Displaced Inmates 😅

While I can’t afford this set & would have nowhere to put it if I could, I do really want to just get that Sauron minifigure by itself when it appears on BrickLink. Yes it’s gonna be like $50 on BrickLink but at least that’s way cheaper than buying a whole massive flagship titan set I’m not interested in, especially when my budget could be spent elsewhere this June like with the new Ninjago, Jurassic World, & Star Wars set releases.
$50 minimum I hope lol. But my advice is buy it ASAP because I think the price is only gonna continue to go up
There will be a Great Trio:
1 - Rivendell, where the Fellowship of the Ring was born.
2 - Barad Dur as one of the Two Towers.
3 - Minas Tirith, where the Return of the King took place.

I'm so incredibly excited for this masterpiece Can't wait to purchase this. I think it would be cool to have the mouth or Sauron coming out the gate and then behind him is an army of orcs. there was still a lot that was not covered in the films. the mouth of Sauron actually traveled to dale and Erebor to declare war Apon them. or give them a chance to join Sauron. they refused and so Sauron sends an army of Easterlings to go and attack them. brain of dale, the grandson of bard the bowman and Dain Iron foot fought to the death to defend the lands but sadly both died in battle. I love all the detail put into it; it is really beautiful and menacing looking. and it's always nice to see brand new Lego pieces being made. the more new Lego pieces come out the more building opportunities there become. 😊 the hole inside is great too I think Lego really nailed it with the inside. most likely down the road too I bet Lighttailing, or light my bricks will make a full light kit for the set. thank you so much for your review you did a wonderful job. Sauron looks a little too stumpy. Why didn’t they use the long legs and arms for him? He just looks weird against the other minifigs.
I’m just happy to have him. Especially as someone who played the video games and loved Dimensions
