Snow’s the best when you are home with fireplace, cozy sofa, blanket, some cocoa, and good book❄
And some weed 😊
@@princesativa8191absolutely 🤘🤘🤘
And some good movies to watch also while snuggled & cuddled up with the fur babies. 🐾🩶🐾Going to go with, Harry Potter for starters tomorrow during the snow showering.❄️🤍❄️
I am just missing the cocoa!!!
and BOOZE!
If you don’t have a vehicle that is ready for winter driving , don’t go out , not worth it .
Ok thanks mom😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
unless you wanna get a new car ;)
More importantly, if YOU aren't ready for smart Winter driving habits, DON'T DRIVE! Walk!
But I live in the UK?
Either a 4x4 or a FWD
I live in Wisconsin and have driven "low cars" most of my life. In snow, it is more important on how you drive rather than what you drive. Most of the cars that skid off the road are larger since they get a false sense of security. If your tires are in good shape, you should be fine as long as you drive as conditions dictate, or better yet, stay home if you can.
Hahahaha kid it's winter is snows in the winter.....these tree huggers are making a big deal about nothing. 😅😅😅😅😅
Also from Wisconsin and an ex car technician. To add to this, it definitely is important how you drive but having snow tires will help you a lot too. But not on ice.
@@Chooyee20Only studded tires help on ice but not recommended for the occasional snow storm.
Up here in Canada some people use them but they are illegal in some areas as they destroy the road over time
I think what they meant was cars lower to the ground where they start plowing at the front end and get stuck, a higher up SUV will have more ground clearance so your not plowing the front end. That said snow tires are best for these conditions.
Wisconsin salts their roads pretty often, these states in the video not so much and it’s evident. It’s definitely 100% to do with preparation.
STAY WARM STAY HAPPY STAY HEALTHY, GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND YOUR FAMILIES 👪 ❤❤❤
You and yours also ❤

As a kid growing up in the '60s we called this winter.
As a kid growing up in the 80s and 90s
We called it the same thing.
Same in early 1900's growing up
What do they call it now?
Good for you. But people need to know about extreme weather to safely make the travel plans for either personal or business.
If you don't like these videos, you are more than welcome to use the "back" button instead of making inane comments that are neither amusing nor clever.
Oh you grew up in the 60’s? With a firm roof over your head, electricity and indoor plumbing? Quit acting like you grew up in the 1600’s.
I live in Kansas City and it's been a nightmare!! It's unbelievable
Good mayor you've got there
Stay in where you fit in
Stay inside, stay safe 🙏🏻
God is punishing your city for what you’ve done.
Do you have power?
Employers should be getting fines and lawsuits for forcing people to work under threat of termination during dangerous driving conditions.
Mother Nature keepn' it real.
Remember walking anyplace uphill both ways when I was a kid
STAY HOME!!!!!
no.
I'm in california.
I don't really have a home, I do have an old drafty Barn.
My boss won’t let me
NOOOO!!!!
@@mal4955 ahhhhh at least I made it home safe youtube ppl.
Im in NE Ohio most of this will hit the southern part of the state. Sending prayers 🙏🙏 to all who are effected by this storm 😢
Prayers? lol ok
🙏🙏🙏
How did we ever get thru snow storms in the old days? 😂
Get off my lawn!!!!! 😂😂😂
Well for one if the power went out it was no big deal as many people has wood stoves or gas heat. Lamps lanterns candles and fireplaces. The grid wasn’t as big as it is now so if it went out there weren’t as many homes to get the power back on too. People used to keep more food staples on hand and not depend on DoorDash and Walmart deliveries. They didn’t freak out because they couldn’t use their phones because landlines still work when the electricity goes out.
All of that being said when a snow storm hits the north people are used to it and know what to do. City regulations are also different where they dig power lines deeper and water pipes deeper to avoid freezing. They also usually get snow that packs and you can drive on fairly easily.
On the other hand when snow storms hit the mid south or the south the water lines aren’t dug as deep and freeze more easily and burst . Building codes from roofing to insulation are different. People freak out that aren’t used to it and usually when it hits the lower Midwest or the south it can be accompanied by a sheet of ice. Snow isn’t as much of an issue as ice. Driving on ice is like roller skating on an ice rink. The ice is also heavier than snow and weighs down the power lines . You can sweep snow off your car windshield but when your windshield ices over you have to try to break it off or melt it off.. if you can.
I know you’re just joking and weren’t looking for a lengthy answer but I’m bored and off work so thought I’d leave this comment here for anyone who says why are southerners so afraid of a little snow that’s nothing up here. Well it’s because Southern and Midwest infrastructure isn’t built for it. It should be .. but it isn’t . So your house flooding from pipes bursting is real. Losing water access is real if your pipes freeze. If the electric goes out and you have an electric stove and electric heat you have nothing between you and the outside. So incase anyone thinks those people are overreacting just give them a little grace. The south and most of the Midwest don’t have infrastructure for ice and snow and gas heat and stoves and fireplaces are not something every house has. So be sweet 😂k bye ✌️
@ Well versed. You’re right about the power outages. We grew up in NJ in a house built in 70. All our lines were underground. We never lost power or phone. 5 kids so there was always food in the house. My dad still got up & went to work. Mom usually had off with us, teacher in a local district. I’m in PA now & in an old Stoney. Beautiful area & home but they freak when it snows & our power goes out if the wind blows the wrong way!
I was a kid and we stayed home from school if they called a snow day. We played outside in our snowsuits, made snowmen and dug tunnels thru the banks
@ Yup, our town was so small my brother would get up early & call the police dept to see if we had school! 😆❄️
You know what we call this up here in northern Canada.....Tuesday.
There are no "right tires" for ice.
STUDDED snow tires.
Right, but I have all weather tires. I'm spoiled here because we don't get much snow, put back in the midwest, I had to have better tires. Years back, I went to Montreal after new years just to get out of town for a few days. I got there in between snowstorms As I left , I was reminded Of why we used to have snow tires In Canada, or at least in Montreal, they are required by law. My current car sits lower to the ground then my old toyota, and it tends to skate all over
Zamboni tires
Studs.
Loved my studded tires back in the day....
Not to sound like a know it all or even that I know what you all are going through, but as an Alaskan my advice is to just slow way down in traffic. I notice that's always the first thing to cause accident in snow, especially when you aren't used to it .
It’s astounding that so many US states don’t require vehicles to be equipped with snow tires during winter months. The Canadian province of Quebec requires most vehicles registered locally to have snow tires on them from December to mid-March although it would be incredibly stupid to not put them on any vehicle not registered in Quebec, but that one intends to drive through that province during that time span.
doesn't matter if you have somthing other than a "low car" with[out] the "right tires," having a Jeep with 4WD and snow tires doens't mean $#!T on ICE
this type weather was the norm when I was a kid in Michigan during the 1960's and early 1970's. then it all started changing in the 1980's due to global warming. glad I was born when I was so won't be around to see the worst it will become.
What’s an example of the worst to come?
It's snowing in Kansas, so the power is out in Texas - that checks out
No power and cold 🥶
I'm in Texas. I have power. If I lose it no big deal. I'm prepared.
@@kbrown5218 lol good for you! lol you can do it! Texans crack me up
Climate change has warped our perspective of what winter is supposed to be. This weather is normal for winter season
She paused after she said 9 inches
For all the people making comments that it's winter or it's January (so why is this news), it doesn't snow every single day in winter. Are there not sunny dry days in winter also? What about raining days? Should people live and drive on snowy days in the winter the same as they do on completely dry days in the winter? Who do you know lives as if it will be snowing every day of a week when the forecast calls for sunny bone-dry conditions the entire week? Even snowy days aren't the same...is a 4 inch storm the same as a 24-inch storm? Should people not know how much is coming? The news reports snowstorms so that people can be warned, informed, and adjust. If the news didn't report snowstorms and just let people be ignorant, everyone would then ask why it wasn't reported and want to sue (since people weren't prepared and feel the news should have warned them).
4 inches of snow/ice in Tulsa Oklahoma is very different from 24 inches in places used to snow as well.
Mostly because nobody even knows how to drive during these kinds of conditions so it tends to shut down the city for the few days it lasts & rightly so.
Seriously avoid driving at all if you can down here because it becomes bumper cars.
Personally I'd rather take the bus then if forced to go out. At least then you'll be in the winning vehicle.
I actually was on a bus talking with the driver when she said she was sliding some. A very slow slide but a slide none the less.
Considering I can't really afford a car & also couldn't always physically drive it due to pain. I don't even want to think how bad I'd be out there.
Except I wouldn't be out there. Fibromyalgia & cold absolutely do not mix so I tend to hibernate during the winter & it doesn't even get that cold here normally.
Be careful on the roads, drivers 🙏.
Well, duh, it's winter.
The anchor is phenomenal!
Whilst snow is falling in the mid states, we in Arizona and surrounding states are devoid of any snowfall. Warm and dry is a scary combination for forest fires.
At least kids are cheering...😂
Stay home or wherever you are presently if the weather is bad.
Such an odd weather pattern-DC and Philly getting snow, but none in NYC and Boston
Storm is heading East, slowly?
yes
Grrr Grrr Grrr ROOOAAARRRR!!! 🦁 👸🏾 🦁
why is all the snow storms now seems weak compared to before but so much havoc and chaos. in the 90s we get 30 inches easily and nothing big happens
So glad this is missing us in Wisconsin.
Same here in the Windy city.
And in the news. Winter is cold and it snows.
Here in MN, where it's been cold, not crazy subzero cold... but cold like 5 above, and sunny, we had no idea. Nobody noticed.
A snow storm in January
The Horror
Your statement makes for a good movie title🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
@ And you know sequels could forever like Jason from Friday the 13th🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This the first real snowfall here in DC in who knows how long. I’m so excited.
The snow has started here in Baltimore!! Can’t wait for my kids to see it😀
if you think driving in snow is bad, wait til it starts to ice over
No snow in my part of Oklahoma just ice. And its colder then polar bear turds here. 7 °degrees outside now And very windy. I know its quight chilly in my house to. Time to layer up.
That weatherwomen killed it!
I grew up in Alaska and never want to see snow ever again. 😂
Its all fun and games until you have to clean it,repair the damage,or drive on frozen roads.
Kids have no idea.
That's right Hallie, you do the weather.
I have lived all my life in a snowy part of USA. Have learned that no matter how well your car is prepared for the season (i.e, great tires, 4x4), it is still no match for ice! Staying home is your best bet! I know some can’t avoid it (healthcare workers, public service employees) but for the rest, no reason to be out there, especially when you were warned for days!
🌬️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Why do some insist on driving in these treacherous conditions? Stay home!
Goodness 🙏🙏🙏😥
Quite the ardent broadcast of the weather.
Most of the time they make the weather worse than what it really is. People out running around in stores for Snow up to 4 inches thats nothing.
Arrgh they're out of bread and milk! The humanity 🤧
One of the worst snowstorms in over a decade 😂
Where I am it is 10-12 inches
It's 9 inches where I'm at.
I think people forget the rampaging storm in 2016. 25-30 inches of snow All over the mid-north Atlantic, well below freezing, no visibility and high winds. This is nothing in comparison.
Please keep our Newcomers warm and safe
They really think 10in of snow is a lot HAHAHAHAHAHA. I've had about 3ft of snow, at -20f on my driveway before. 10in is nothing.
Too bad all that snow doesn't go where it is wanted, Minnesota.
Im in North KC, north of the river....it's bad near Barry road. We are stuck in our cul de sac. Snow build up is too much. My Land Rover is not moving. Its ice under the snow.
It’s hardly snows in michigan anymore….plus it’s much warmer than in the past
Oh come on it used to really snow 20 plus years ago and they had just average plow trucks just stay off the roads unless your vehicle is equipped to drive in it😂
I heard indiana was supposed to get snow it's been cloudy all night with no snow
So disappointed New York City is not getting anything
Yet. They will. North of NYC is doubtful, but Manhattan is at the northern tip of the system.
I'm glad I live in the desert 🏜️

Toronto 🇨🇦 here no snow outside just cold wind wth is going on with the weather
NYC has not a drop of snow now it's 6am
We’re going into an ice age or something! Six months ago it was like a tropical climate!!! God help us!!!
